  1. integra wont fit without some work, but cant see why not. crx ones work on a 280z real easy. msa sells the clear ones and they come in a nissan box, at least the pair that i saw at ZCCA did.
  2. Sniff Sniff, Hmmmmm 8) Z runs and Ive been driving it, but Im really just trying to get the body straightened up and get my proper rice body mods going.
  3. Im running stock sized injectors, really good reliable ones, but yes stock sized. Fuel system (pump, linesize, regulator, blah blah) on my car except for the injectors should support my goals of 280-300rwhp-kinda low I guess but ill be able to drive it alot and my next car will be faster. I wont touch the afm with the stock injectors-its probably the last thing I would do-just personal preference. I was all over the high 13 second range on street tires before I lost interest for the time being in 1/4, ill be back, but im in no rush. Times vary from a best of 13.77 to my average 13.9-14.1 thanx to a 2.21 avg 60ft from boiling the H rated 60series tires and a open diff that doesnt believe that its not an LSD coming out the hole! Im sure I run rich at idle, I run factory fuel system with no emissions devices except a pcv, I should expect to run rich at idle and I accept the compromise. Hp is least of my concerns at the moment, Im trying to get lsd and rear disk brakes mounted up, and then I want to straighten the body work side up. Turbo upgrade big injectors and new management would be next on the menu after the body is good and straight, then Im doing a V8.
  4. 20v rebuild? Crazy man your nuts. I think im going to use a 16v 4ag for now to get the car rolling, using the stock efi and trans. Maybe after a while Ill try to run with that supercharged 4agze, 180hp or so is possible with a better intercooler and pulley swap right? That would run tough in that little hatchbacl. If I start going toyota crazy Id like to get a ae86 lsd disc axle in the back, Ive snapped the older toyota axles with a 2tc... Anyone ever thought about L28et into a 79 rx7?
  5. I like the idea of using a KA trans behind the L motor, especially if they are same internals as the SR trans-Ive seen that trans hold 300+ft and take clutch kicks, dumps and tons of powershift type abuse.
  6. Yeah the azenis wear out super fast. I love all that room in the engine bay Alex.
  7. I saw that car in person at the ZCCA and wondered why to myself as well.
  8. Ive found out the hard way that a stock boosted s30 body with minor bolt on mods and no boost increase will go neck and neck with a 350z this afternoon, 7psi and a z33 couldnt reel me in, so I can believe the Nova. Good job.
  9. Thanx for the input guys. Old school toyotas kick butt, its what you really want in a small car, RWD! Yasin thats a crazy setup, dont know how you have time for two turbo cars like that. I had a 85 mr2 with the 4ag and loved the twin cam induction noise, but yes it felt like it was going nowhere, but furious to do so! Had a 2tc in my 71 and it was pretty slow too, but I had low profile 13s on it and it would scratch second from any rpm or speed in first, high school kids were appreciating that one intensely! 22r is a workhorse engine thats for sure, but they go for as much as a 4ag or a 20v engine. 20v is 165hp stock? Figure that starlet cant weight more than 2000 with a driver, I cant see how except maybe the bumpers. http://www.venus-auto.com/inventory/toyota/engine.htm just checked them out, saw another option, a 3t-gte, first turbo option I saw.. The 20v is 600 w/0 a trans.
  10. fl327 - now YOU stated that you were running 12psi of boost at 50psi of fuel pressure, also on stock EFI. I'm assuming you were running an adjustable, NON rising rate regulator, so increasing fuel pressure only 1psi per 1psi of boost? I'm also assuming you mean 50psi was the idle pressure? Or was that the max pressure it would hit at full boost? When you set it to 50psi was that with the engine idling and vacuum reference connected or disconnected? What FPR did you use? Did you adjust your AFM at all to compensate for the richer mixture? Yes that would be me. 50psi at idle, BG adjustable fuel pressure regulator, non rising rate (replaces factory regulator). At least 62psi fuel pressure at 12psi. With the vaccum disconnected I had 52-3 psi at idle. I have still to this day not opened up the AFM, I dont know why just havent had to I guess, not with stock injectors I guess. Its a good way to fine tune a bigger injector setup to get it to idle and also a good way to destroy a good tune-thus I leave it alone since I dont currently run a huge injector. This is with 20btdc initial timing with the 83ecu that likes 24btdc. I ran this combo thoROUGHly for about six months, and got used to it. Taken it beyond 6k rpm ALOT.
  11. Working on picking one up in the next week or so. Im a big fan of the power hatchback, and love rwd. I had a 71 toyota corolla a while back and I miss driving it, looking to do something that rides a little better but has that twin cam bog! Ive been looking online but it seems that we are indeed spoiled with the wealth of information on this site, because when I go to other sites I get annoyed with the lack of knowledge and the dummy flame wars- I got very little info from the toyota sites is what I mean. I know a few of you guys here have some toyota background, and I was looking at dropping a 4age five speed into this car for kicks. Either that or possibly that 20v initial D motor. Ive priced out either option and Im figuring abotu 1000.00(20v engines are going for 650!) plus the small trips to the store for parts and I should be able to turn the key. Not trying to rule the world with this one, I have a Z for that Thanx guys. Hopefully someone knows where I can get a xmember or conversion parts for this one, im still pretty new to toyota stuff, and want to try something new for a sub project while the z gets its body done up.. I know the rotary swap is tried and true, but im an avid fan of not using rotary motors, call it an irrational fear and resentment I guess. Also interested in possibly doing a 3tc/2tc buildup which Ive had a hard time getting info on as well.
  12. falken azenis are incredible tires, just short of a race tire for the street. a lot of the drift guys run those tires, I would if they made a 60 series, as it is i have a huge wheel gap and couldnt stand it getting any bigger!
  13. If they are the 81-3 turbo wheels, I beleive the offset is +10. Anyone have photos of a 235/60/15 on a turbo wheel, rubber in back is bald (again)
  14. it can all go and the car will probably still start.
  15. Get a better dyno spot to run those tests, sounds like they suck.
  16. Sure, some people can run 12+ psi w/ an intercooler on the stock EFI. But I doubt they run 12 psi, at 6500 RPM, in 4th gear, uphill, in 100 degree heat, for longer than 30 seconds. Youre probably right. but I was at 12+daily driving and not scared to WFO at any time. every run at Sears point ive ever done is 90 degrees out side at least, but no, im not going for the Sean73 test of man turbo-athalon..
  17. try swapping ecus, a bad ecu just wont go over 3000 rpm at all.
  18. did 12psi for a long time on stock injectors (good ones) 50psi fuel pressure, npr intercooler, porsche fuel pump, stock timing, stock ignition, stock ngk plugs, good for high 13s 2-ish 60fts on Afshins old swastikas with the original tires . no issues, except no hook
  19. should bolt up fine, you may possibly have to change the driveshaft bolt flange with the one from your current diff. Halfshafts should pop right in.
