  1. #5 is shady isnt it? My first motor ate #5. I think fel pro is fine, two years and tons of beating and its good. Get it back together and try some more.
  2. Reminds me of my trip to Hong Kong/China, except I cant post most of my photos, they are too real and too naughty for the Internet baby!!

    What engine?

z31 turbo motor is plenty for drift,
  4. Anyone want to listen to mine next week, 4" diesel mandrel back 3" dp, glasspack and BOOSTING!!!
  5. get me two of those clips. please email me!
  6. I switched the spring to a 280z spring, and everything felt like stock.
  7. Fastest L motor car Ive seen with my own eyes in real life was Hoover Chans Red Monster, 404@14psi pump gas. Race Gas and more boost hes getting numbers ilke 600 for sure. Second fastest is about 300hp stock internals maybe close to 400 now that its boosting 20psi. The intake and the exhaust is a restriction, if you have goals lower than either one its not hard to do with the stock bottom end, which will take 20psi tuned correctly, same with the stock headgasket, this isnt what I heard this is what Ive seen and experienced.
  8. I use a spec stg2 turbo clutch, feels lighter than the oem unit and hasnt slipped or smelt like anything yet. Its rated for 450ft lbs, but I doubt it, but so far, so good.
  9. I dig it, but I think he should have added more ground effects on the sides and rear to complete that look. Refreshing to see though, thanx for posting that.
  10. 7.4 is good I think, from what Ive seen the flattop turbo setups work pretty good up until 300hp mark, and at that point ive seen four degrees too much timing blow rings lands OFF QUICK!. Swapped in 7.4cr pistons and rods and corrected timing, and my buddy has like 50 low 12second passes, traction being the only issue left... The factory turbo motor was born that way, and LIKES TO BOOST.

    L28et+M21??

Been toying with this notion for a while, using a wide ratio M21 four speed trans behind the L motor. Not that the stock trans isnt working out, but in my old v8z I had a blast powershifting it, and it definitely was not the weak link in the drivetrain. Freeway cruising isnt as limiting as it was in the v8 conversion, fourth gear doing 3000 rpm is a lot less of a concern for me with an L motor as it was with the 327. I want the wide ratios for my upcoming drift events, as ill be able to keep the car in the same gear longer, plus I love m21s Ive seen Turbo240z's adapter for a powerglide, Im wondering what else would need to be done to get an M21 box rolling. Sorry for the vague question just thinking out loud. I have the M21 ready just want to know what Im getting into. Thanx.
  12. Hey there, didnt you say that you ran an r230 in your sx? I just picked up a 3.7 r200lsd and am going to use that in my z for now. I wanted to learn more about swapping an r230 into a s13-that 3.70 ratio would make it a top end killer!
  13. Dont think he wants to wait for the boost... Thats BEAUTIFUL
  14. Thats what Im talking about, I definiitely like the sound of that sucker. He does need to improve his circle drift skills and steering angle control though, Ive got a homie close to me that can swang em much more furious than that with a dead hole having KA! Thanx for the vid though.
  15. Sure you can. On my toyota p/u, it will burn a quart every 1000 or so miles if I use 10-30, but I go three qts. 10-30 and one quart 30w, no more and a super quiet running lil truck. On my turbo car I run two quarts of 15w-50 synth with three quarts of 10w-30 synthetic, and have been doing it for years now.
  16. Never realized how lucky we are in the US to be able to get these cars for such good deals. Just got back from a whirlwind tour of China and Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, my cousin drives a s13 with every bolt on known to man and a built sr, it is fast as hell and you havent lived life until you've taken a left hand drift sitting on the left hand side of the car! My other cousin has a non turbo version with tomei cams, intake, and exhaust, what a sucker. Its good to know that on the other side of the world, my cousins are devoted Nissan Fans! They took me to go play video games, and they had the real version of the Wangan Midnight video game, intensely realistic handling wise, and of course I picked the Z and beat the game! I told them that I have owned almost every version of the s30 at a different time with various modifications, my latest one being a turbo version. They nearly wet themselves screaming at me, they couldnt believe it. I told them I wanted to do an s13 turbo next resembling their cars, and they screamed at me NO!!! They told all of their friends about their cousin that has the z cars, and I was answering non stop questions about the z car. They told me that even though a s13 does handle better and rides better, they would own a s30 over one in a heartbeat. So Ive decided to bring my z back to daily driving status with an emphasis on pure function over max hp, my hp goals are way lower than they were since I take more pleasure in owning and driving a z. I really just want to put tons of miles on my z from driving it, and be able to go to the track for lightweight drifing practice sessions. I am in the process of getting a good 1991 s13 DOHC KA24de with jdm spec kyb shocks, rsr lowering springs, s14vlsd, nardi steering wheel, a relatively straight body and gets like 30mpg it runs super good. The engine swap into that wont be for another year, im going to focus my attention towards work and friends. Just thought I would share some of my reasons for keeping my s30 alive and kicking.
  17. Changed my mind on this issue. I would go with the sr20 for a car that sees a lot of driving, and the RB25-6 for a car that sees a limited amount of driving and the POWER. Sr because parts for them are readily available and some of the more important parts are interchangible with the non turbo sr. In a z for me Im staying with the L series Turbocharged, for old times sake.
  18. You should use the engine you have the most resources, knowledge, and desire to use.
  19. Now that I have time to see more SR cars, I would do the SR20. A lot of parts from the non turbo SR sentras are interchangible and also gaskets. Once I set up suspension in my s13 I will be going for a 350hp sr20 car, my cousin in HK has a very fast silvia and Ive been driving around with him for a few days and i like it. Sorry if my english is out of wack, I havent spoken any in about a week!
