  1. I accomplished that with coilovers in the rear and a v8 in the front with scarab lowering springs in the front-eibach and gc coilovers. could not fit anything bigger than 205/50 falken azenis in the front and 225/50/15s rear rubbed on the smallest anything, but I was steady mobbin. I estimate I lowered it a minimum of 2.5 inches rear and 3 inches in the front, and I LOVED it.
  2. I still have my 16" electric fan, but its on a switch now.
  3. Im a tremendous fan of the fan clutch on a street car, with a manually switched electric fan for backup at the track or other hard driving times. Its almost a no maintenance part and keeps my engine nice and cool in stop and go. Ill take a parasitic hp loss for the peace of mind, just turn up the boost. I like the idea of running all the pipes out of the drivers side myself, but I can see how the NPR and other intercooler that would make that difficult to route make the pipe across the engine unavoidable.
  4. Tony D makes great points as always. Basically sometimes being cheap is false economy, but it is good to seek a deal.
  5. I basically just want that 510sixes driveline in a 70 with a OS giken DOHC head and AC.
  6. Stock zxt exhaust is a very thick 2.5inch pipe, to cut down on turbo noise im sure. Just route the intercooler, and cut the muffler off
  7. they can be both drilled and slotted, but for a stock caliper they are solid, not VENTED.. I have a set of drilled rotors, they make a fresh grinding noise when I stomp on the brakes-in a good way. I changed out the pads to semi metallic and did SS lines so I dont know if the rotors do anything much, but I did stop better after rebuilding the brakes
  8. I have a buddy with a 240sx that flogs it and goes to drift competitions and doesnt break anything in the rear end with it stock, that tells me I could own one and not dog it and it would last a long time Going with that line of thinking, if Darius flogged an r230 and axles nor diff went on him, must be OK
  9. There are just a few variables in that engine that make judging hp very difficult. Do you know what the build of this motor is like besides the e31 head? Bastaad, your last post had me thinking a little. What was your 60 on the high 14s? First time I went to the track I was tried stock boost/timing/fuel pressure etc... everything and ran high 14s with a very weak clutch and 2.21-2.3 60ft on bald 215/65/15s-launching just off idle. Car probably weighed in a bit over 2700lbs.
  10. Nice one, im a sucker for a cowl hood. Air dam looks nice too. Ive been looking into Ls1s....
  11. not a scam. http://www.paypalsucks.com
  12. Shame is that no matter how cheap the intercooler is, the pipes and couplers are still going to cost a good amount to be done correctly.
  13. From my past experiences I have found that the turn signal bulbs are different from the others and will only go in the right spot, the other lights dont matter so much, just drop all the bulbs in and the natural length of the harness should place the bulbs where they need to be, you may have to move one over and so forth, but it should be quick...
  14. id go with the 2000gt just because Ive owned a lot of zs and would like to try something new, but familiar. Name the only non european car James Bond ever drove....
  15. common v8z driveline is th350/400/m21/m22/t10/ t5/2004r/7004r yoke with a big chevy ujoint and a neapco/spicer adapter that uses the same adapter and the r200 flange of their choice from stealth conversions, aka jtr. Msa makes a pretty nice alum driveshaft with bigger ujoints that are servicible. Wonder if anyone makes datsun yokes that go with a bigger ujoint on the yoke side, the diff side is easy enough to convert?
  16. the four spoke ones would be my pick. I would also stick with 7 inch wide in the front, and possibly 8" rears if using stock fender and suspension. i think max is like 4.5 inch bs in the rear with the stock suspension in the rear.

  18. 240zturbo makes an adapter to use american auto transmissions behind an L motor.
  19. their internet special for a rebuilt 280z trans is 350.00 thats not bad.
  20. I say dont sell it to the kid not for safety reasons, but simply because you may always have to hear things after the sale. Being that the car is modified to a level that most normal service shops will refuse to work on, he or the mother is going to call everytime something happens to the car, and that sucks, aks me about that one. Being that the possible buyer is under 18 probably means the mother would be the one calling you for help, and that just sucks. True, there is a safety issue involved as well and it can contribute to not wanting to make the sale, but there is also the factor of what also could happen after the sale selling the car to a minor who doesnt know the extent and extremity of modifications done to said vehicle.
