  1. 160k is low for a 81-83 turbo car, thats about what your average 87-91 5.0 has on it. 19k and no explanation is a whole different thing, his price is too high and explanation is too short for me to even think about asking him anything about the car you know.
  2. i would like to do a five lug swap somedays, how hard is it on the rears anyway, i loathe having to remove the stub axle assembly when it works well. if i only had five lug though, i would rock the starion 16x8 and 16x9 combo, i can get those rims for like nothing local, and it kills me they got to be five lug!!!!!!!
  3. MUDGE, what do you mean you cant find starions, xdresserxcrosser dude got them for you all day long, just you know, hookem up a lil bit, he did take a liking to you
  4. l28 is a direct bolt in, the turbo stuff isnt, rewiring and a bunch of stuff, does you z not drive right now? i think you are burying yourself into a bunch of problems, just drive something.
  5. i like the hood vents, have one problem, is that the one on the passenger side vent is right over the fusible links on a 280z and gets them real wet if the owner has taken the screens out of the bottom of the vent to get more air to pass, besides, the hot side of the engine is on the drivers side!
  6. caltrax bars, every fast solid axle car at the strip i saw last was running these.
  7. thats a good suggestion, and cheaper than going and getting another radiator then getting it rebuilt. any radiator shop can build you a three core out of the stock z radiator for about 100.00, and it should serve you well. gonna need a new radiator myself in a couple months or so, mine has seen better days.
  8. ozium. dont hotbox without it.
  9. it is different for different cars, climates, driving habits, octane, temperature. stock is 8btdc i believe, start from there with 91 octane i think.
  10. not sure, just know that it works GOOD.
  11. use a 81-83 zxt radiator, top two bolts line right up, the lowers you have to fab something up or leave them off, i left them off, i run a 180 therm, and it stays right around there at all times in street driving (a hair before the middle of the guage), and run 175-77 on the freeway (a little less than half the stock guage), bottom line, keeps my turbo car cool, even now, i have this oil cooler and intercooler blocking the air path, it cools great. no new hoses either, old ones line right up with this one. if i did another v8z, i would use this radiator, thats how much i like it.

smog legal? yeah right, ME TOO
  13. you already have the car running with the turbo? thats quick. yeah the turbo should muffle a bit, but not with an open exhaust, you probably just have the dp on it right now huh? if you run a 2.5 out the back it will be quieter, even without a muffler. youre nuts, yeah ill come by later this week or something and drop that guage off to you for sure, wanna see this running rich monster youve got there.

anything could fit. just go get the exhaust done somewhere, its cheap enough out in east bay.
  15. im almost ready to go back to the track. just installed ic and 2.5 pipe to tb and 2.5 transitioned slow to 2.0 on the turbo, didnt turn up boost yet, the thing jams like jelly on the freeway, car also seems to run a little smoother with the fmic in, plus it shows from the front!!!!!!! need an msd box still a little more tuning and more driving, and ill try it again at the track. 14.0-14.4 range-----its getting painted, and im getting me some wheels:D
  16. just traded some labor for a freshly rebuilt t04b, dont know any specs on it, except it is BIGG. i have no clue on specs im going to hooovers to try and get it sorted out. this turbo is giving me bad ideas. now im looking at external wastegates and what not to try and get this sucker on the car, and i knwo it will take an adaptor flange and a spacer, it really is taht big, im not even sure it will fit under the stock intake, im sure i could do something there too, im wondering what will be the outcome? it has a three inch inlet for maf air filter two inch but it seems to be ported inside for the turbo charge side. is it too big for my l28et to spool well, i like a little lag but i dont want to narrow powerband down to 4400-6k or anything like that with my current stock efi setup, ive heard 7psi will be like 12 from the t3, with a crappy response, but if max power is still good i might still be down. yes, turbo maps and calculations confuse the living heck out of me. my setup runs good right now, but for the future, i would now like to run this turbo, just because i got it, and do realize im opening a big can of worms.
  17. like the rims, im looknig for some that look like that, its the gtr lm look. HOT.
  18. yeah, im gonna use as many of those t bolt clamps i can, they do two things well, they keep the dang hoses on tight, and they dont rip up the couplers like your standard kragen clamp, ripping occuring when you boost and the pressure tries to pull the pipe off, and rips on the coupler through the worm gear, at the least it will slowly kill your couplers, which arent cheap.
  19. nah, simplest swap is L28et and a Na five speed trans. bolts right in. efi could take a little bit to dial in. but its a good setup to start with. if you do your shopping right, it could cost you less than 1000.00 to make it drive around and boost.
  20. i dont know about sound, but the one i like on a stock l28et system is that hks ssqv, since it has that tight pull system, you can use it on the stock efi and not stall with an open venting bov, i mean you can use any of the others, but i like how the hks is set up.
  21. squat is good, too stiff, and you wheel hop, and that hurts...
