  1. Which one do you guys use/recommend? It'll be used for both indoor and outdoor. Thanks in advance.
  2. maybe this will help a little...
  3. Looks great Austin. Keep up the nice work!
  4. We're safe guys, he's not moving anywhere for a loooong time after that comment... "i gotta finish my blue Z 1st anyways.. lol" hahahaha. j/k Mike BTW - you know you and the situation best. Good luck and have a good time on your visit.
  5. I think he meant that the harmonic balancer's hub may have spun a little, throwing the timing marks off a bit Cody. Good luck w/the rebuild onephat.
  6. Hope all is going well for you in JP Terry.
  7. Mike, lots of good advice and i hope it works out for ya whichever way you decide. I played around in my hay-day until i was 24, when my highschool sweetheart called me out of the blue after not speaking for over 4 years. Went out one night and 6 years later we were married. Now, coming up on our 10 yr wedding anniversary, we have a 6yr old, a 4yr old and a 1yr old and i wouldn't trade it for the world. BUT, i will NEVER forget the days of your age. Especially since every time the guys get together, those days are always brought up. We had some crazy/reckless times which will never happen again, which in a way is GOOD! lol. Whichever you decide, enjoy the most out of your life. Try to make well thought decisions and not waste too many those "not so responsible" days. BTW, NYC's about 20 minutes from me. Come on up and let's see if i can't get those "settling down @ 22" thoughts outa your head
  8. You could always beef up the L28 a little and be faster then the SBC option [ducks head while flames are ready to be thrown] haha. Welcome to the board and good to have another East Coast Z'r. Good luck w/your project.
  9. I think it really depends on which tires you're going with Sulio. A tire with a wide tread width should work fine with your 8.5" rim. Below are some differences in tread widths for the same size tire (225/45/17) BGF G-Force T/A KD - 6.9" Eagle F1's - 7.6" Dunlop SP Sport 9000 - 8.1" Yokohama Advins - 8.5" Bridgestone Potenza - 8.7"
  10. Very, very nice Sulio. I've always liked the deep dish look myself. I do have a question... Why isn't HybridZ.org listed as a link on your "VicZcar.com" website??? I see Zcar, Zhome, ClassicZ, Zdriver, Zgarage... but nooo HybridZ??? Hmmm Just busting. Good luck w/the wheels.
  11. I hope it sells and raises the value of my Z.
  12. EDIT: i found your post. Hey 73Turbo240z - got any pictures of your 3.75" DP? I'd love to see it. Also, what size exhaust are you running? Obviously it's at least 3.75" or larger... or, no exhaust at all. Interesting.
  13. No sweat Clint. I've been on this site for a while and didn't realize it was there for a while as well! How's the RB build coming along? Close to spinning that sucker up yet? Keep us posted. One thing about the timeslip database... I don't see Thumpers entry. Hmmmm... Oh that's right, only something that can run under a 20sec 1/4 can post there. HAHAHAHA. Right back at ya!!!
  14. Wish i knew you were in the area. We could've possibly met up. Yes, my ears are always listening for the ping. It's the main reason why i haven't had a stereo in my Z for the past near 3 years! lol.
  15. Tony, i'm sending him to get his hearing checked. Hopefully they'll provide hime with 2 "miracle ear" hearing aids. lol. Took a spin with him the other night after we installed the LSD, we're cranking up an incline, loading up 4th and i start to hear the rattle can. I say "can't you hear that? Back out a little" Nope, he couldn't hear a thing! lol. Think i'll re-connect his knock sensor without him knowing Thanks.
  16. By 1 minute Gabe! lol. Hey Clint, nice looking ride BTW. Also, pay no attention to the "GLENN280ZX" and the "Myz87" entries. I have no idea why they're still in there. Mods? I could move up a notch! lol.
  17. When i'm at the track, i recirculate the bov right back before the T3. Probably could help ET with WOT shifts, i'm just not a fan of doing it. Never liked spinning the motor at high r's without some load. I was shifting around 55-5800 r's in all gears. I will try the different rpm's for different gears you've mentioned. Mike, i hope so too. Only thing is, i'm definetly not tuned right running a stock '82ecu and just bumping the static fuel pressure up to what i think may help leaness out on top. I hope you get out there and do it... then again, you are stand-alone Maybe i can get in Z-sport like you but for being the cheapest/least modified series one to hit 11's! lol. Call the article "BUDGET RACER" lol. Think i've got a total of $3000 into my Z. That includes what i bought the '73 for, 2 donor Z's, rims, tires and the rest of the minor mods like the MSD 6A, Walboro pump, injectors, NPR I/C, Act clucth/PP.
  18. Thump - I noticed that bog a little at the start too but i think it may have helped build boost real quick with all that load. I think i should have tried a little higher r's as well. I'm really guessing at the 4500-5000rpm launch because i never look at the tach, i'm always watching the tree. That two-step would really help. I also think i could have been a little quicker with my 1-2 and 2-3 shift. They sound kinda slow. I cant believe you're not challenging! you WUSS. j/k Hopefully i'll fall in to some "extra" cash over the winter to do some upgrades - ecu, T3/T4, injectors..etc. I did continue checking tire pressure and kept them right near 18psi. 525 - i think i do get a little spike but i really think it has to do with the load on the motor. As soon i launch or shift into the next gear, the most load is on the motor, spooling the turbo up high. When the r's start to climb and the Z gets up to speed, there's less load which in turn the boost drops of a little. Just what i think is happening. I'll get that onboard video during daylight to watch the boost gauge and we'll see what's happening.
