Thanks for the info Mike. I'll try and reach out to Doug to see where he got it. Keep me in mind if you decide not to use it. I hope to make the 5-6 hoour drive down this spring for the bash as well. Would be nice to put some faces to the names. Again, nice work on the Z.

Looks great Mike. Keep us posted. Question, where's the spoiler in the pic below from? Looking for something for the back of my Z and i like the look of yours. Seem to be a good product? Thanks.

Does anyone know what's up with these Bidders/Sellers? It recently seems that every other vehicle i look up on EbayMotors, the Bidders name is Bidder 1 or 2,3,4.. and then i look at thier profile and they've bid on auctions from the sellers Seller 1 or 2,3,4... etc. Is this some sort of scam or something? I just seem to be coming across it all the time now. Here's one for example that the high bidder is "Bidder 4"... CLICKER Just a note - I am in no way affiliated with the person selling or buying this car, i'm just using it as an example and, the high bidder may change by the time you read this so it may not show. Actually, if you look at the bid history on this Z, you'll see what i mean. Just trying to figure out what the heck is going on?

Thanks for all the info and kind words guys. I've promised myself to regularly visit the chiropractor after i get through this ordeal. I know some people don't believe in them and i understand, but i really feel they help keep me in line. I've wrestled for 10 years though grade/high school and played football as well so i'm thinking this may have helped this disk get to the position it's in now as well. I've also worked on cars since my father had me holding the flashlight when i was a kid and have lifted many a trans/motor over the years, of course not always the correct way which i'm sure also added to this mess. I'm only 5'7, 175lbs and still in pretty good shape but, the back seems to giving up slightly on me now. I really made this post to hopefully get the attention of possibly one or two of our younger guys to play it safe when they can. I received the report today and i'll post it below. Basically what i got out of it is that, that piece of disk may be separated and floating, and i also have slight some degeneration of some of the other disks. The rest i'll let the doc earn his pay and explain exactly what the heck it all means! lol. I picked up a prescription today for some drug (exactly like prednisone with a diff name which i can't remember at the moment) that is a steroid to reduce the swelling. I'll be calling an orthopedic that specializes in the spine area in the morning to make an appointment. One thing that is kinda cool about this whole thing... i finally get to try steroids like i've always wanted to while growing up! lol. J/K, j/k. Again, thanks guys. Fingers crossed i'll avoid the knife.

Don't want to scare you but, just pay attention to your body. I've had these "knots" between my blades several times over the last few years but always "worked though" them. Now i'm wondering if it was this same disk all these years and i never took care of it earlier and could have now possibly saved myself surgery. And, i blame myself for this because i never go to the docs, never go to the chiropraptor like (i think) i should, always lifting heavy things the incorrect way... on and on. So, at 39, i'm dealing with this. I can't really say what caused it but the only thing that comes to mind is - I was at work the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and the only thing i did with my back was pick up a monitor, put it up on my hand it up like a pizza guy would carry a pizza (done this many times, nothing new), carry it across the company and put it down. No pain at all. An hour later sitting in my office i started feeling this "knot" in my back. 3 hours later i was suffering in major pain on the way to see the Chiroprator. That's the only thing i can think of that possibly triggered the weak disk or something. Sux.

Young guys, TAKE CARE OF YOUR BACKS! I've been in pain for the last 2 weeks, just like a knot right between my shoulderblades, and i finally went for an MRI today. The images don't look good and i'm hoping something can be done other then surgery. Anyone have expierience with a C6 bulge or herniation... or whatever that disk is doing, pressing on my spinal cord?

All this talk about bikes!!! I MISS MY CBR!! I'm a Honda fan as well. Have been since my first MR50.

Looks like my buddy's '71 240 is selling on Ebay...
Jersey replied to Jersey's topic in Non Tech Board
He had told me last week that he was thinking of putting his Z up on Ebay and asked if i would help, i said sure, didn't hear anything more about it until i saw it up there the day he listed it. He didn't do such a good job with the auction (pics, description) but i guess it got the job done. I'll let you guys know if the seller comes through. It did hit his reserve so, as long as the money comes, it's gone. -

He's never had his Z on Ebay before and has owened it for about 5 years now. Unless it was the previous owner or possibly someone stole some pictures and tried to run a scam. He's had about 20 different people asking him questions about it, all over the country, and a few have come to look at the car in person, trying to buy the car before the auction ends. Yes, it will be nice when he sells it for that much. Nice to see the value of the Z is still good, even with the economy the way it is. -
You can see it HERE Just a real clean 240. Shame it has to go.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. 280Zone - understand completely about turning a hobby into a business turning painfull and will feel that out when i get into it. I hope it doesn't go that way but will be aware. Thanks Davy. I've had so many ideas over the years that i've just sat on, sort of like your colored flame lighters, just to see someone else make $ on them years later. Just need to wander off the beaten path a little and take a shot. Joe - always have you in mind. If i do a few out of my garage and it seems to be going well, you know you're phone will be ringing for interest. How's 777 sound for location??? lol. Can't believe he's moving. About the $ and splitting the profit - It's a bit tough for me right now to part with around $10k when i don't have it as "extra" and would rather not take it out of the house and pay interest. Just how i'd rather do it. It's amazing the point he's at now - recently just bought a REAL 60's GT40, was having it shipped here, found out some info he didn't like and had it sold before it ever got to his house, making a $30k profit. Mind you, this is a side business he's been doing for the last 30 years. He's the CEO of the Testing facility i currently work at so, he's doing alright for himself. One day i just hope to be able to do his "side" business Again, thanks for all the insight.

The friend of mine i mentioned here in a post a while ago - HERE has offered to fully financially support me to purchase and restore any vehicle that i believe will make money. The deal includes him taking 1/2 the profit which i feel is fair. He said he'd do this as many times as i needed (of course $ makes $) or just this once, it's my decision. Hopefully, it would only be once and i'd make some good decisions. I'm in a comfortable position at the company i've worked at for the past 9 years as Network Systems Supervisor and do make a healthy paycheck but, the finances are still tight, bills-mortgage-cars, 3 kids, wife at home...blahblah.. AND i do love working on cars. I've been thinking of doing this for a long time and have done noithing but sit on my a$$ and now think it's time to make a move and earn some extra $, hopefully building into the good fortune as he has someday. It will be long nights and weekends since i would start this off as a sidejob but as my last 38 years have taught me, nothing comes easy. So, i was thinking of what some possibile good money makers that wouldn't hang me out to dry for months on end with little profit. Here's my initial thought - Either target the 67-68 Mustang Fastbacks and/or the 67-69 Camaro's. Parts are pretty cheap, fairly simple to work on and the market is still pretty strong for musclecars. Finding them in halfway decent body condition here on the east coast will be tough so i may have to rely on a few HybridZ'ers out west to keep an eye out for me I figure if i start with a fairly inexpensive resto, i will build some cash and move toward bigger investments which could turn over bigger rewards, and of course bigger risk. I know hundreds of thousands are thinking and doing the same thing but i think it's my turn to get my hands dirty again. If you guys have any suggestions, if you think i'm nuts or, even on what cars you may think will turn best profit, all would be appreciated. Young guys, it's hard to make choices like this when your older and soaked with resposibility. Do it when your young if your able. (off soapbox)

Quick Camaro/Firebird questions (late nineties/early 2000's models)
Jersey replied to a topic in Non Tech Board
Hey 525, nice to "hear" from ya. Hope all is going well in VA. I didn't see it mentioned yet and i'm sure you're aware but, i guess i'll throw my 2c in The LS1 went with an aluminum block which saves about 100lbs compared to the LT1 cast block. Wish our L6's had that option! lol. -
Hey Evil, where's the Z located? I may be interested. Could you email me all the pics and any other info he sent you to Jersey@cptclabs.com Would be appreciated. Thanks.
