  1. OK back to tires! Which Would be best for all out street and some track days? Toyo RA-1 OR Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212
  2. There IS a reason to use a rising rate regulator. To run the stock injectors and injection over 9-10psi, you will need to raise your fuel rail pressure in proportion to boost. Stock injectors and injection can take you to about 15-16psi and about 270-290 rwhp with good rail pressure. It is endless. Good luck.
  3. Slipping at 120mph! That's your safety speed limiter bud! I have the 6-puck ACT on a 280Z flywheel and it grabs like a lobster claw. I use the unsprung disc and get some chatter when it warms up. It's not really an issue except when I am babying it around parking lots.
  4. Question is, What is Uncle Sam going to do with my tax returns.
  5. I use a $13 mechanical gauge from JC Whitney. Been working great for three years. Yes I build on a budget but the gauge checks out accurate enough with a bicycle pump so why not?
  6. I use the Walbro external and I barely, barely can hear it. It's mounted to an isolated bracket off the stock pump bracket. Very quiet. It also makes some serious fuel pressure and flow. It has been very reliable for three years so far. Just dont try to use the Fuel Pump Control Module from the 83. I tried and it lasted abot 2 weeks before it smoked the box! If your 83 Turbocharger has high miles on it, change it now. I use a TO4B compressor with stock turbine at 15psi with stock EFI and an FMU(regulator). Next phase will be an ECU. I already have the injectors and fuel rail. Your list is pretty complete and you did your research. I would just do the turbo upgrade now if the stocker is old.
  7. Just lowering a Z 1" will get you less than 1 degree negative. You need to put in your camber plates, eccentric LCA bushings, relocate the LCA mount, or get adjustable LCA's. From the sound of it though, you need to go over the whole car front to back and get back to basics first.
  8. 1996 Porsche 993 Aircooled TT AWD....Saaaaweeet! I look at it this way. If the car you beat was more expensive...you win no matter what.
  9. It's OK just dont use the brakes. J/K it shouldnt cause any damage immediately. Fix it soon.
  10. Leaking brake booster. Needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Edit: Mark Launched Faster LOL
  11. I found that removing the heavy front bumper really helped the 280Z feel more like a 240Z in the steering/handling department. Loosen the front sway bar end links so they have a tiny bit of play in the bushing stack, play with tire pressure, tighten up the rear swaybar bushings, try trail-braking, try -1.5 to -2 degrees of front camber if possible, lengthen the T/C rods to increase caster (I used a couple of thick washers), set front toe to near zero, and last but no least, don't turn in has hard when entering the corner. Oh and search hybridZ. Lots of info about understeer.
  12. I wish we could pitch the idea to a magazine. HybridZ vs. World Class Sports Cars. They could put a full out L28ET and a full out SBC car against some of the world class production cars out there on the road. I bet we would fair well against many cars on drag and road course.
  13. building a dream or wasting your cash? The answer is: BOTH
  14. You might have beat a 170hp car. LOL ....or a 330hp car. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_Z4 Whichever it was, I bet he wishes he bought the faster one.
  15. OK a nice hot part from the coldness of the Northeast! Are you going to be producing these? I suspect you could sell about 100 pairs pretty easily and quickly if they were priced right. Good job.
  16. ...Nothing like coming inside from 4 degrees with 30mph winds covered with snow and getting into the rocking chair in front of the 800 degree woodstove with my hot cup of tea and oreo cookies! Take your hot humid weather and.....keep it. I like the cold.
  17. Knowing EvilC personally, I am sure at least one part of one of his cars is in a warm climate somewhere. He has stuff all over the place! My car is in the shed until further notice. There is about 2" of snow on the ground and about 3" of salt on the road.
  18. Very good point about the emissions legalities. Here in NY the 76Z was the last non-cat model. It had no emissions controls asides from internal fuel mapping and the BCDD valve. Not even EGR.
  19. Are you kidding? There are three S30's running in the entire NorthEast section of this country. Put us in the MISC. Region LOL.
