Yeah....you gotta hear their latest R30 DVD German concert in surround sound! Amazing sound. The best recording of the band ever. I'm a bit younger so I started listening to them at Moving Pictures. Red Barchetta has to be one of the most amazing driving songs. Shifting and drifting, Eh!

You think you had pressure? I came in the session late, poled 2nd, launched at the green flag, and realized my pit speed limiter was on!! DOH. I watched everyone go past me as I struggled to figure out how to disable the pit speed limiter. I hit almost evey letter on the keyboard until I hit the right one. I was 25 seconds behind by the time I found the right key. Afte about 5 laps I reeled in EvilC as he spun off. Then I saw the time between the next car shortening. As I got closer, I saw that it was 1tuffZ. I reeled, and reeled about 2 seconds per lap as I closed in on him. At the top of the boot, he must have lost his cool and spun it. I came over the blind apex crest and saw the nose of his car looking back at me. I veered right but clipped his nose and went on to finish two more laps for 4th place. The whole time my wife was nagging me to go take care of the baby becasue she wanted to go sleep! How can you drive a race car with a nagging passenger? It's truly difficult. But truly fun. I didnt know you were a RUSH fan too?

any sources for digital mics ?
cygnusx1 replied to grumpyvette's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I bought my Mitutoyo digital vernier from Mcmaster.com. Probably not the best prices but you get it quickly. Dont loan them out, dont use verniers as scribes, and don't use them as clamps or hammers! LOL. http://www.mcmaster.com/ -
Just in case you missed this somehow....if you are using an 82-83 Turbo Distributor with MS2 From DIY Autotune and HybridZ: http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_articles/how_to_megasquirt_your_280zx_turbo.htm "Using the MS-II PCBv3 ECU Build the ECU up to trigger from the Hall/Optical Input (all of my MS230-C units are by default configured this way). The only change is to enable the IGBT High Current Ignition Coil Driver Circuit to directly drive the coil. Remove the jumper from JS10 to IGN (if exists) Jumper IGBTIN to JS10 Jumper IGBTOUT to IGN" and "Important: On the 'Ignition Settings' menu make sure to set 'Spark Output' to 'Going High (Inverted)' and set 'Coil Charging Scheme' to 'Standard Coil Charge'."

Permatex makes a thread sealant good for fuel. I would use that and not JB Weld. Although JB Weld works, it is much more difficult to get apart if you have to. http://www.neverseezproducts.com/threadseal.htm

Gotta love that good old USPS Priority Mail service! You would know Phil. I just placed the order in between feeding the screaming baby and trying to put him to sleep! I am going to order one tonight!! I've been emailing Matt over at DIY all day and we finally have a parts list together that will work for me. Thanks to his patience and knowledge! MSII-PCB3 LM-1 Wideband O2 GM IAT Sensor Mapdaddy Atm/Boost sensor. MegaView in the dash!! I cant wait. I am going to run the stock 83 dizzy, the nissan head temp sensor (easytherm it), GM IAT sensor, 240SX TPS, and 42# Bosch injectors, Walbro pump, stock turbo FPR, JSK O-Ring Rail. BYE BYE AFM, BYE BYE Dielectric-grease-on-the-connectors-every-ten-days, BYE BYE old crusty ECCS, Hello bottomless power!

2002 WR-Blue WRX with TurboXS axle-back and extra boost piggy-back ecu. 17" BBS wheels. It makes 265 crank HP. I'm the original owner. It has 100K miles and I've never changed any fluids except the engine oil and washer fluid! It even has the original fuel filter. Someday I may do some maintanence but for now I'll keep working on the Z. Oh yeah the coolant was changed when I had to replace the leaky radiator Here is a pic: The pad/rotors, radiator, air filter, tires, and fuel, are the only non original parts.

Trust me I have been reading these forums, the MS manuals, and other forums about megasquirt. I read the same stuff over and over again until it starts to make sense. I think I now have it all figured out. So if I do run the MSII off a wideband, I can allow the O2 sensor to tweak my fuel maps (at my discretion) to maintain a preset A/F ratio map. Then I can also use that O2 sensor through the MSII to display A/F on the dashboard with either a wideband reader or the MegaView-II mounted in the dash. This is all really awesome! I hope it works.

I am about to order an MS for my car. I am a little unclear as to how the MS uses the O2 sensor and IF I should buy the 5-wire wideband O2 sensor with the MS Kit. I have a standard 1-wire O2 sensor in my downpipe right now but can I replace that with the 5-wire wideband O2 sensor and use that sensor to run MSI or MSII and also use that sensor for tuning. In other words. Will a single WB O2 sensor run MS and still give me a readout to a dash gauge that I can use for tuning in real time? I would like to run closed loop eventually with a WB and use the realtime A/F corrections feature of MS. Sorry if I asked any dumb questions....I am a mechanical engineer...wires scare me a little....just a little. Thanks, Dave

Lets just pretend you sold it...and bought it back and now you have it again. Keep it, enjoy it!

Looks like you could fit another one in there too. LS1**2

FYI, Motor Man, will convert Domestic Injectors to fit Japanese manifolds. No need to machine the manifolds if you end up buying a set of domestic squirts. http://www.injectors4u.com/fuel_injectors.htm

Any skiiers here? I have been skiing since the age of three, I am four now. J/K I am 38 now and skiing is more natural to me than walking is. I found myself relating skiing to driving. Picking lines in a car is similar to picking them while on skis. On skis, you can shift your weight around to "understeer" and "oversteer" just like in a car. On skiis you get immediate feedback as to proper line choice, weight transfer, corner entry, and edge behavior. I always had an easier time picking lines on the roads than my friends who were not skiiers. I seem to be very in tune with the behavior if the car during a curve and a during a transition. Last night I couldnt sleep so I started trying to relate my skiing experience with my driving. Any other skiiers think there is any validity to this?

I have a brand new JSK rail for sale because I ordered a barbed and then decided to have Juan make me a 14mm O-ring rail instead. Yes, JSK is back in the biz. Leaking rail? Well, that is entirely up to the installer using proper sealant on the threads...not the fault of JSK.

Go to wikipedia and search internal combustion engine. Read it all several times. Follow their included links. Read those. Come back here and read. Go work on your car. Start with simple things like tune-ups. You will be a pro in no time. Good Luck. Welcome to HybridZ. BTW: Most engines, inculding the Z L28 motor are 4-cycle engines. NOTE: Dont spend a DIME until you really know what you are doing.

When I see brand new $40k cars and $50K SUV's driving around, I look at the driver and think...I wonder if they realize how much money they just lost in that purchase. I can almost visualize money flying out of the windows....depreciation. What a shame, wasted cash; especially when they turn around and trade them in two, three years later....ouch!

Make sure you heat it up to test the flap for fit when it's hot. It's going to expand/warp in some way or other.
