  1. From now on I will be driving a toaster instead of an S30. Yeah Right!
  2. You are now the official tester of Nissan parts, assigned task of finding limitations! Keep good notes. We all expect you to find the limits!
  3. Yes it prolly can handle 600HP but NOT banging gears.
  4. Pepperidge Farms remembers! Yes women like my Z. I'm married to.
  5. I go grocery shopping in my Z pretty often. It has three benefits. 1) I get to drive the Z. 2) MILFS always checking out the Z at the store. 3) Very easy to load the bags in the hatch. It's ALL good.
  6. Nice condition. Ditch the blue plate...it clashes.
  7. The R200's are tough but not THAT tough. I don't think a new one will last much longer with the current output of your motor...unless you are gentle on it and dont bang gears....or get an automatic trans.
  8. The convertible was the cleanest car there, IMHO. Totally built by Baracu from HybridZ. He won best Ultra Mod and Peoples Choice with it. It has no top. It is the ultimate convertible Z. It has chassis reinforcement to compensate for the lack of roof. His attention to detail is A+
  9. Proud to have an L28ET TO4B under my hood! Go Go Garrett!!
  10. I "reconditioned" my system when I had to replace my A/C evaporator a few years ago. It is a pretty big job because it is so tough working under the dash. Thanks for the Honda Blower tip. What year works best? I find that my vacuum actuators are now starting to get lazy. I may have a vacuum leak or the hinges/linkage might need some lube. One of the largest pains in the a$$ was the "snake ball" of heater hoses on the right side of the heater core. They are very hard to reach. Removing the dash might be the answer. My heater control valve is also ON or OFF there is no temperature control. I dont think it can be repaired. Replacements are pretty costly too.
  11. It's not easy making a profit in the car building/restoration biz. Run all your worse case numbers several times to make sure you are OK. Check ebay to see what the cars are selling for and how long it takes to sell them. Don't be fooled by Foose, Coddington, and Barrett Jackson those are "Hollywood" and not real world. It can be done but be careful. Good luck.
  12. We aren't getting too political or religious here, are we admins?
  13. What keeps me going is that sooner ar later I know Darwin will take control of the situation and we will all be safe again.
  14. It's probably not a huge deal but you could atomize some oil with a compressor or a pressure can and blow it into the spark plug hole. Definitely turn it over by hand and then crank it over.
  15. maybe it WAS Amir! That would be funny.
  16. Thanks! Here is some USEFUL information for those that stumble upon this thread. The stock Z damper pulley has TWO 1/4-20 Tapped holes in it that can be used for pulling.
  17. Laugh all you want...I'll be out cruising in the Z in few minutes. Is your's done yet?
  18. http://www.amazon.com/gp/blog/id/A5ZFJIVKDFHA0/ref=cm_blog_blog/002-2124135-1355239 Click the "OLDER" button for past articles. Go through the history of articles and/or subscribe to the blog. Some really cool cars. I submitted some Z photos to them through a photography website. Maybe they will do a Z article soon?
  19. Well, yah see, wife is on four months of bed rest due to pregnancy, soooooo, me has to do all the cooking, cleaning, yardwork, interior housework, car maintenance, income gathering, and whatever else....ok enough bitchin'. Pulling the turbo motor involves ALOT of plumbing, and ALOT of things that are very hard to reach. I really dont have a helper either. So it is a blessing in disguise that the pulley came off easy. One glance down the drivers side of my engine and you would see how much crap there is to wrestle with. I do have A/C and FOUR heat exchangers up front of the electric fan. I also work without airtools and no lift. For ONCE I would like to see one of those shows on TV build a car like mine with a table vise, hacksaw, hammer, hand file, and hand drill...like I did. Sorry if I sound defensive....
  20. WooohHooo! I took off the belts, the pulley bolt, and tapped lightly with a hammer and the pulley slid right off. The pulley had a crack in it which is why it was leaking. I don't think the key was sitting in there right when I put it on in the first place. That may be the whole cause of the problem. It's tough working in such a tight space with poor visibility. At least I didn't have to pull the motor or all the heat exchangers. pop fizzzzzzzzz. (beer opens)
  21. I had dual 40DCOE's on my Alfa back in the day. I had picked up two carbs and manifold in a junkyard in Milan, Italy for $60. I LOVE Webers. They are totally tuneable and rewarding. The sound is mechanical music. I remember all about the progression ports, emulsion tubes, main jets, pump jets.....what a trip those were. Now I get to go help Buzz tune his tripple Weber Z. I do it for the sound!
