  1. Don't try that next to a SBC Datsun! LOL. Drove him to drink!! I really like that color on your lil' M. Two words. TURBO INTERCOOLED.
  2. How many people have friends like that? Hopefully we'll never learn the truth about our own friends that way. Nice to see that some people turn out to be true friends
  3. Hey welcome to the East Coast. We dont have your CA weather here so we enjoy our Z's whenever we can. You can meet some of us possibly this Sunday. We don't have a club but if we get enough interest...you never know. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=112783
  4. Post revival. Summer is here and the intake manifolds are hot. How to keep them cool? Can we get cool airflow in between the bottom of the intake maniflod and the exhaust manifold to keep the convection heat transfer down?
  5. I'll take three feet of snow over 95 and humid. Snowblower does all the work and the WRX is like a snowmobile with heat and a radio. If I get cold, I'll pull a beer out of the snow and go sit next to the wood burning stove. The only thing I don't like is that the Z is out of comission from the first snow to the first big rain in Spring that washes the salt away. In general people seem to like Summer but I prefer the cool dry Winter air.
  6. The Glen is not a day trip for most of us from NJ, CT and Southern NY. It would be a weekend trip at least.
  7. Hmm. So if I run my A/C backwards, my evaporator under the dash will get hot and the condenser out front near the intercooler will get cold and cool off the intake charge....off to find a Mobius Strip belt to run my AC compressor backwards..... Just Kidding of course. LOL.
  8. If they are anodized silver aluminum, which they probably are, you could send them out to get stripped and re-anodized in black.
  9. Hey stop making our Z's jealous. J/K. Pics and Vids please!!!
  10. Absolutely gorgeus! I am not a big fan of the ZG flares particularly because of the metal cutting involved but they ROCK on your car. How did the cars performance change with the bigger gummies?
  11. I firmly believe that HybridZ should market ourselves to SCR, Road and Track, GRM, Automobile, HotRod Mag....I think we have an excellent car story to tell and an outstanding product on par with the original AC Cobra cars that Carroll Shelby introduced to Ford in the 60's. I would LOVE to read/hear a driving review of some of our HybridZ cars written by a professional auto magazine or show.
  12. I bet it doesn't last very long. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCYMAml3CDk
  13. If you had an endless budget you could use a 3D digitizer. They mount to a reference plane and they have a little finger on the end of an arm that you probe around with. Everywhere it touches it "memorizes" in 3D coordinates. Then a computer translates all the points you picked into an actual model. Big Bucks though. I have used one when we had to retool an old machine that had no blueprints. Another way is to use basic mapping and geometry skills. Triangulate key points and make best fit curves. The more accurate you want it...the longer it's going to take you. Guestimates are fine for what you plan to do anyhow. Tough challenge but sounds fun. Good luck.
  14. I figured that we had alot of new members coming in so here is a pretty well written article to start them off with some basic Z knowledge. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=100641 Imagine if they ever test drove a HybridZ in a car mag...what would they compare it to?
  15. Make a Z only list AND a list for "Others". It's not like it would kill anyone.
  16. Yah it is counterintuitive....but I learned it in engineering school a long time ago. It's all about molecular weight. Water has a lower molecular weight than air. Thus humid air is less dense. Lessdense=lessfuel=lesspower. Humid AND Hot conditions both create less dense air. Cold and dry is ideal.
  17. Check: Oil Water Compression Fuel Pressure FI Relay turning on? AFM Flap stuck? Crank it over and look for spark from the coil wire. !!ATTENTION!! I bet the ECU and/or AFM connectors got loose. 9 out of 10 times that's why they either run like cr*p or don't run at all. Just take off the ECU cover by the drivers left foot, Unplug/Plug-in the three connectors and that should fix it.
  18. I wonder why he uses Dr. Hunt as his sig?
  19. I run an oil cooler but I haven't installed the thermostat yet. I don't think it's really needed if you don't drive in cold climates. If you do drive in cold climates, you probably should run a thermostat. It is bad to run oil that is too cold. Since I only drive my Z occasionally in the cold Winter, I slip a piece of cardboard over the oil cooler to keep it from overcooling the oil.
  20. Perfect at least if anyone breaks down we can have a tow vehicle and ride in comfort! LOL.
  21. Nice. I love the pirate sticker.
  22. I researched the heck out of the SDS. It looks like a cost effective system that can make power with the best of them.
  23. BARACU, I'd love to see that convertible if you dare bring it out to Bear Mountain on the 30th. Do you have a soft top for it?
  24. To me the 350Z and the G35 sound is too high-pitched. Even in a parking lot under no load, they sound like they are revving high. It just sounds un-natural to me. I like the sound, it's just that the sound doesn't match what you see. Kind of like High-Pitch Eric.
