  1. I have the diodes ready to make the tach signal circuit off of the coils based on the Megamanual. I haven't neede to make the circuit yet because PIN2 has been working OK. In cold weather the tach won't work until the engine bay warms up, and when idle drops below 900rpms the tach drops out (demons) but other than that, it works. Please post your circuit as an alternative to the Megamanual option...just in case. I think PIN2 was a signal to the original Ford ECU, that the coils are working. From what I understand, if PIN2 was not sending a signal out to the original ECU, the CEL would come on in the dash.
  2. Read, read, and read. I have read the manuals, for my specific setup, over 30 times. The more you educate yourself on the system, the more rewarding it will be. What I like about it is that you get out, what you put into it, and you control all aspects of it.
  3. Well deserved! Cheers to you Austin! You will make great contributions to the team.
  4. Here is what I am using for the '81 5-speed in my car. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PRC15/80-9008
  5. There was also a rebate that was for 5 quarts and a Mobile 1 filter gets you $12 back. I bought the oil but didnt read the part about the filter so I missed out.
  6. The wire that went from the engine bay to the tach in the 280Z's passed through a resistor that is behind the glove box. I believe I did, and that you do need to bypass the resistor to make the tach work with EDIS6 pin2 and/or megasquirt.
  7. Jasper NIce! Relatively easy fix. Yes, post vids of the 260Z maiden voyage or at least a photo or two. BTW Thanks for the rear 280Z body wire harness. I can't wait to get my Z back so I can splice the harness into it. Anyday now.
  8. Wow, looks great! Even you are speechless in that video.
  9. Tyler, The FSM's cover both NA and Turbo models.
  10. I hate when people mis-spell "freese plugz".
  11. I have heard of transmissions engaging more than one gear at a time, due to a shift fork problem. This locks them up hard. I don't know if it would happen while in motion though.
  12. Wow, I wonder what your definition of "a lot of progress" would be!
  13. Try these. They are more factory looking, with their molded cases. They are better suited to exterior mounting, like on your spoiler. http://www.spoilerlights.com/servlet/StoreFront
  14. No. Where's MY NYZCC sticker? I designed the darned thing!
  15. LOL. I just ordered one myself. Since I got hit, I been thinking about it. I think it's a great idea. Low car, dim lights, vs high SUV driver on cell phone. http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=107&products_id=24358 This can be cut to length and is flexible and sticky tape backed. 12volts. VERY bright. It's about 1/4" wide and 1/8" high half-round silicone strip with very bright SMD's encased into it. When it's off, it looks like a black strip. I plan on sticking it to the top inside edge of the rear window molding. In between the connectors for the defroster wires. These are the white versions on my headlight trim.
  16. Part II: Telling him to rebuild the turbines when the galley runs out of coffee won't help much either.
  17. The main problem when giving advice is that you don't really know the level of skill and knowledge of the person you are advising. Often, there is a base level of knowledge that must be achieved prior to tackling more complex subjects. If the pilot that is trying to fly your plane does not know which way to move the stick to make the plane go up and down, telling him that he needs to get out of the stall, won't help. He will probably next ask, "Stall? Where is the barn?"
  18. I'd like to see the same shot from the next lap!
  19. The factory service manuals have chassis dimensions and measurment points in them. You can get them in our downloads section.
  20. Yup, that's DA BRONX. You can count that tree's age not by counting rings...count the bullet holes.
  21. I can head over on Sunday at some point. Probably mid morning or so. That would be great. I'll call you tomorrow. Thanks, Dave BTW...I think I found chrome bumper carriage bolts for the 240 style bumpers. I ordered 12 of them. I think you were interested in them.
  22. The mice really chewed up my tail light harness pretty badly. Anyone have one that they can pull for me? I really only need the portion that runs along the rear panel and feeds the lights. Ewwww!
  23. Wow, the heat is really getting to the rest of the country!
  24. SUPER DOOPER! With black ZG flares it going to look like porn.
