  1. You just used the R/T mount as a bump stop to get rid of the strap? You can actually put a bolt on transmission mount on that thing you know that right. Mine doesn't even have the bottom mount any more.
  2. Such win man. I love the write up, I will be doing this on my z. Now, I am only 5' 10" but I have 76 280z belts fitting in my 72. They are a PITA, do not fit right, and they don't really work with my seat. With this setup I will be able to get the belt in the seat where it will hold me in better. Make me feel a million times more safe, more easy to operate, and it looks more clean! Thank you for a great write up! EDIT: Clean it up a bit and I, remember opinion, I think it is worthy of a sticky.
  3. A car is a car, if somebody wants to spend their money doing rust repair so be it. I went against it twice and finally got a good rust free shell for 500 dollars. Glad I went with a clean one to start with too.
  4. That is what happens when good cars go out on junk yards. You can't even find an S30 like that in a yard around here.
  5. Not a myth, I did a turbo alt. Swap. Please say this again? Special connector? You got ripped sorry to tell you. All you need to do is splice 2 wires from the external voltage regulator and your finished. Plug in, bolt on. Get the turbo alternator it gives you more power. Fixed issues I was having with under power for my lights and stereo. I was having a cut off issue where the horn would turn off the radio and such.
  6. Not a problem, I actually just today sent him a email about purchasing his remaining stock after the end of the month.

  8. Hey was j/w where I could get myself a Z-Signature also like the purple one you got in your sig

  9. Differential strap is present. If you didn't rebuild the differential remember they were for stock turbo 300zx power. You could have just worn out the clutches. A typical thing to do is go through and actually add clutch packs to the differential to make it engage better and last longer. I personally have a OBX limited slip in my car. Only have about a mile on it so far but from a could hard shifts and a 4k clutch dump it seems to engage great.
  10. You have a long nose 300zx Z31T Clutch Type R200 limited slip differential. You are supposed to have a right and a left side CV shaft. The clunk could be in the bearings or it could be the clutches in the differential catching. I have trouble imagining a car built to the specs like yours should have any mechanical problems.
  11. ;D Since I know it needs to be lower I have these, pending more $$ to complete.
  12. The problem is the entire site really needs a cleaning up. There are so many useless threads that could be deleted and so much information that needs corrected/consolidated. Information I got from one of the brake threads was incorrect for instance.
  13. Wow great looking work! I wish I had the time/money/skills to do such a thing. Maybe later on in life.
  14. Without a roll bar I wouldn't recommend a harness. I don't see the purpose in a harness that isn't properly fitted anyway. A harness with to much extra length or that is bolted down to the floor (Shoulder straps) is doing more harm than good. Yes, they hold you in better, if you are doing racing where you could possibly flip your car over, then you may want to just put a roll bar in anyway.
  15. Whatz? Hanz dead yo, thatz just some random asian guy, dontz you know they all look the samez? I am totally joking. Fast Five? They really couldn't come up with anything better? Where are the S30's? I figured since Far East Movement has S30's in 2 music videos now they would require at least 5 S30's in the new one. Will there be a 6th one? Furious 6? Because they fail at coming up with names.
  16. ouch... I got some work to do before I can go to auto-x.... Is this all of the classes? I only have 2 under bars. I guess I am going to have to buy some more 1x1 and make my cage larger as well.
  17. With 79-x? Brackets, the ones that put the caliper 90* from the strut tower, you can bolt on Z32 TT calipers, with 85 solid rotors. This will create major wheel clearance issues spoke wise, weels spacers will be required.
  18. I paid 50 dollars for my kit plus like an extra $5 for one extra 3 prong connector, I could have just used a 4 prong with a plug in it though. If you would like I can give you the Ebay sellers link, he will put a specific kit together for you by request. He will only be able to sell these until the end of December so I would get them while you can. Super fast shipping, great communication, I was really happy with that purchase.
  19. Here is the end of the 240z signal harness and the 280z body harness retrofitted with the weather packs and wiring made where the signals work. Doing the same on the headlights and front side marker lights. Doesn't it look so much cleaner? They feel like a great tight seal snapping them together too. Super recommend these products. EDIT: I got all the front lighting fitted with the weather packs. Now I just need to do the exhaust, seal the fuel cell, install a few parts, register this baby, and enjoy.

  21. Did anybody else notice the horrible downshift at 2:20? Probably thinks he is cool to downshift hard enough to lock the rears up. This guy clearly isn't aware of basic driving techniques. He wasn't even full throttle passing that guy, if your going to pass him, pass him don't be letting off the gas.
  22. Well, for now it is just going to be a straight pipe but state law requires a muffler, I just want to find the right one so it sounds nice. Pictures of the exhaust installed will come when I figure out exactly how I am going to run it. I have a few issues to overcome first. Best thing about what I have there for exhaust. I paid $170.95, shipped, I paid for it Monday night, around 8:30. It was at my door by the time I came home from work today. Yes, GM style, same as the Painless Wiring weather pack connectors. Retrofitting my front headlights, marker lights, and turn signals with them. Sound be a fantastic improvement from the factory connectors. I need to order the guy out of stock because he will no longer be able to supply them after the end of December but I would love to have them for doing a stand alone engine harness. Other than that, I should have more goodies come Saturday pending availability to sign for the quite large box. (I will leave you wondering) EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention I already have the turn signal harnesses fitted with the weather packs. Not only are they functional but they look so much nicer. Bang for buck in these things for sure.
