  1. You could try to open your idle screw just a touch? If you do this and then it goes up and down open it a bit more and you should be golden. Had a similar issue when I first got my car. Mine would just go up and down until I got the fusible link fix and then it would just plain die out because idle was more smooth. So I had to open the idle screw. Idles plenty fine and low. No issues since but USE LOCK TIGHT! I almost lost my screw from vibrations. Going on an hour drive and then hitting your first stop light to have your car go RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR BAHHHHHHHH and stall. No fun.
  2. Today my brain went. Holy **** I am supposed to have this car on wheels and running by the 7th. That's less than 10 days. Then I went, yep, that's not gonna happen. As it is I don't have enough money for a fuel cell or anything to get the fuel system set up. I am most likely just going to be using the stock 280z fuel pump because its what I will have. I am a tad worried about the FPR. I don't really know what is the factory one so I am most likely going to have to buy an adjustable one. Really could have used fuel injectors. I still need fuel lines and stuff. Still need to swap the rear ends. The brakes still need done. Man, I have lots ahead of me. I will be swapping brakes most likely tomorrow. Just the fronts and probably trying to get the parking brake out and swapped over. I would take pictures but I am to tired. I think its time for bed. Head ache, almost falling asleep at work. For some reason I sleep plenty but I still feel like crap. Never awake.
  3. Interior harness is going in. Got some fastener zip ties and stuff to get them in there. Its starting to come together. Still need the fuel cell and to do that stuff. Need 240z heater core stuff but I might have to figure out mine.
  4. Hmm, well I would be getting this Racing fuel cell. Already has a cage, came out of a dirt oval car. It's a real one with a blatter I believe. I know there are issues, isn't that what surge tanks are for? I haven't had a spare in a while. I get sloshing is an issue. I have been really bent on which way I want to go. I was planing an under floor mount where I only saw the cap to fill it up really. Man, your making this harder for me! I really need to get my brakes wiring and fuel system set up. I am also going to be using the other drivers door shell I have because the one I purchased did have some rust on it that I am not happy with. The other shell is 100% clean. But then I need body work. Decided on a paint job though, I was going to have a shop do it but seeing as how they aren't getting back with me I am going to have to figure out my own way. Pics later. EDIT: Oh and its bed time for me, now almost 1am work at 7:30 am, still gotta get up and get gas in the morning! UGH! Plus it is supposed to rain like a mofo and I work for 11 hours tomorrow! FUN!
  5. 280z will be scrapped. I believe I have a buyer for the roof. Why, what have others said? Flat tire issues? The way the fuel goes? I am already going to be using 240z lines for a EFI engine. Not sure how but I am. Just have to figure out getting it all plumbed right. There is some rust but not to much, in the weed compartment there is a hole. Then I need to take the underside to bare again. Undercoating was done poorly. I am going to seal all the welds and seams in the patches and then redo the undercoating, probably with bed liner. Something like Rhino Liner or Line-X is the idea. R200 is going to be going in this, as well as rear disk brakes.
  6. No problem with it. Pretty sure my dad's sprint car doesn't have intake gaskets just copper rtv and I am 100% sure the headers don't since I put them on. No issues.
  7. Well, some of you already know I got a 240z shell. Already done lots of work. Just ordered a windshield seal but I am going to need more than just that. Need a fuel cell and a lot of other things still. Here are pictures and will start trying to post updates regularly.
  8. How about a master cylinder? New, bleed the master? Bleed the brakes again, if you have to take the calipers and rotors off and hold them up while bleeding and having another person pump and hold. Get as much air out as possible. If your pedal is soft bleed and bleed and bleed more.
  9. I say just have a spacer machined to eliminate the booster. Power brakes? Who needs em. If we don't need power steering we don't need power brakes. More pedal feel anyway.
  10. I tried to narrow it down, grandma, one owner, never driven in rain/snow anything wet. Washed well and dried well. Not driven much at all. Your right though, you won't be able to find one without.
  11. 3 year long project? Its not done yet, and do you think it ever will be. =P
  12. If you don't want rust I suggest not buying a z. You can't find rust free ones. Not unless its a one owner cali car and old lady/man had that was always in the garage in washed regularly and the put away for a long time because she/he decided to stop driving or just stop drive the z. Look EVERYWHERE.

  16. Yea, you have my donor car. Can I haz it back? That 280z is in perfect condition, nothing a tube chassis cant fix! HAHA NOT! Sorry about the 280z looks like you found a great car though.
  17. Your about to call me crazy. This car HAS to be done by the 7th. No questions asked if I can't be driving it on the 8th I am going to be running into many problems. As of right now, I am going to finish my school project.

  19. How much is it again? I have cash but I will pretty much be blowing it all if I buy this setup. I need to have my car running by the 7th. Right now it is bare. Not sure it's really in my greatest interest. I wanted it, I still really do, but its what, 175 plus 15 for the timing mark bracket thing? I have a deal that will work my timing advance/retard etc. I would need coil packs, heck I even have a VR sensor if I can get use for it. Would really help clean up my wiring mess. HMMMMM... How long will it be before the sets are finished/taking payment? I am going to need to buy some doors and they are 50 a piece at the yard I plan to go to.
  20. Well. Should I start a new thread or just continue this one. I really don't have time or a camera to be taking pictures just trying to get the stuff done. Primered most of the floors. Need to buy a fuel cell I am going to just go that route. Engine bay is almost done, most of it is painted now. I need to grind a few welds primer that spot paint it and then get around where the master cylinder is. I probably should have taken the master out but I decided it's just not worth the trouble right now.
