That's what I was trying to avoid here, I mean, so do I you know, but what I really like, what I have more attraction to. I am not a huge fan of modern cars, but I do like them. I just have a thing for cars before my time you know? It used to be all about American Muscle then I moved to Japan, when I rode in a few skylines and silvias I couldn't say no. I have friends who are American only and I have started their conversion, starting with my 93 Nissan pickup that was a squeal machine, and after I took him for a ride in the Z he couldn't deny they were cool/good cars. I can add other to the poll if anybody would like another option, I am going to add anything with wheels and an engine for you!

CNN lists a 280Z in top 10 cheap collector cars.
ModernS30 replied to leftover z's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
Yuck, that list is wrong, the Fiero was on it. -
Maaco it and rip somebody off on craigslist? Totally kidding, nothing says you must finish a project. Sell it to a die hard S130 person on here or trade it. Nothing wrong with not finishing, I have seen a guy that has now had I think 7 different 240sx's and got like 4 of them as projects that weren't finished and sold. LOL all of them in under a year, starting with a red automatic hatch to be a super sick SR20 powered s13.5 drift mobile. He got what he wants now though, started with an already swapped hatch and put time and money into it and he has a 90% finished car so far just needs paint and sound system for what he wants. Selling projects doesn't doom you.

1977 280Z - daily driver 1978 280Z - sold 1976 280Z - sold 1974 260Z - sold 1972 240Z - RIP 1970 240Z - RIP I see the S30 fascination here, I am a big fan of the S30 myself when it comes to Z, I am not a fan of the S130 sorry some of you guys, and the 350z can look good. I like the 370z, no idea why, and the Z32, Z31's are a half and half, but I, well I did daily my S30, it has now gone into full project status and I my daily is a 97 AWD Impreza, which is a much better daily.

Glad to see we have people taking part in this poll. I wasn't sure if it was going to be popular or not. I really like all old school cars. I think it started with the AE86 and me wanted RWD and manual. I got a Z, I love mustangs, just 60-80's cars are amazing.

Back in the day.

You may want to add a location though, otherwise that red will fill up, as for everybody here from what I understand. Location is no required. =D I noticed this too, that's what I had figured is it was just for your viewing pleasure. Plus it keeps you in the mind set of not to do something wrong, as you will be punished!

Hey Hybridz, I was just looking at pictures of random cars last night, Don't get me wrong, I love all cars, but I noticed I have a thing for these 1960's-1980's fastback style cars, particularly the ones with round headlights. If you think about it, look at a 67 or 68 mustang fastback. They styling is very similar to the Z but with a wider look. I really love they way they look, although if you don't I think your crazy. I want to know what kind of cars you like, and yea, we all just like cars because they are cars. I am saying like really what are you obsessive over. Is it just a Z? Is it really all cars? Is it just the Nissan/Datsun Name? Is it just cars that are Datsuns? Is it a specific generation Z? I am not sure if I can edit a poll so sorry if I didn't pick your choice in there but I really wanted to keep it more Z related being we are on Hybrid ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. That will be all, correct my grammar or spelling and I will fix it right away.

good thing about stickers is, if they are made the way I think they will be made then you can just pull off the S30 silhouette with ease. Maybe not, but I am sure you could cut it out if you really wanted to. Anyways thats the hybridz logo, I just want the part that says engineered to be feared!

Thanks, I have been trying to fix everything that is wrong with my car. Like the huge x large holes in the floors and now a u-joint needs replaced. I am going to be rebuilding the rear axles soon.

Officially Located in Indiana now! Hopefully the floors will be at least started in 1-2 weeks! -
That's a pretty good looking car. I want the cage.

What did you sit and hit refresh all day till it went online? HAHA I kid with you.

I don't like the tail lights, the dumb badge or the honeycomb. Other than that, great engine choice, dash is alright, I like the stock z dash or 240sx dash doesn't look to bad.

Has anybody got pictures? I am interested to see what an inline v6 turbo looks like.

First off, ease off man, I am 17, second, Yea some of "us" are stupid, I know somebody with a 90's Eclipse that hasn't changed the oil since he bought it (2 years ago!)

Sure you can, you will probably have to tub it and get slick, maybe some street legal radials. Yea, the built 2jz idea is a bit over the top, that's like big dollars in the engine, after that you would need a built transmission to hold it. Probably build your rear end. Then you would need brakes. You suspension probably wouldn't handle that either, so you would need suspension. I think the Mitsu idea is honestly good. Nobody has executed it in a Z yet, that I know of at least. I also think the SRT4 with a jeep 5 speed is a great idea that hasn't been executed (again, that I know of) yet. If you want unique then your idea is probably a good option. If you want turbo for cheap(ish) and reliable, mega squirt l28et with a ball bearing turbo and a few small upgrades to make the Reliable part. Honestly the 2 words I previously stated don't go together, but if that's what your trying to get close to then I would say L28et with MS. I would rather see the mitsu but I have fallen away from 4 bangers because of the noises they make recently. If you do a mitsu swap document it very well please!

This is a good point, I didn't know I could start something this successful. I have been living my life and was forgetful. I get really busy reading stuff on this site, I forget about this non tech section. You have no idea how many hours I have spent reading stuff on this site though for real. I just go into la la land and before I know it 2 hours will have pass, I will be tired, but I still have 20 pages to go. Seriously though, I want my stickers and I want them now. (The following Grammar mistakes are on purpose please don't banish me.) Ok, May I plz haz 1 free sticker for starting this thread?

Fair and true, just remember, torque breaks things, including the tires loose. So honestly if you want something that's cool/neck snapping you already have it, just build your v8 high compression. =P If you want different. Do a built 3.4 stroked 2jz-gte. Get it to put down around 1200 to the wheels. Make it hook (possible?). I think it would be different. Especially if you could manage it street legal, only problem is you are in ABQ so you have emissions correct?
-
I think a better Idea is a 2jz, you can push 700, seen it in person! Stock bottom end.
-
I think you are fine, but I would be less worried about your bell housing and more worried about your feet and body if your clutch/flywheel went boom.
-
There was something on this a while ago. Great idea, from what I hear the engine is bullet proof. Definitely search it, I would post a link but I don't remember the thread. I guess search Mitsubishi engine or something?

Just and update, small but update, I decided to just pull the rest of the carpet. Passenger is worse than I knew, but I expected it to be worse. I am either going to save up and get a kit or make new support rails just for the sake of fixing it right. I am thinking of making my own out of like channel steel that would be stronger. 2 more days and it will be off to Indiana for me and the car. I am starting to think the noise is a U-Joint because of the way it does it constant clicking. I think the big crunches are from the needle bearings jamming up. I will rebuild the axles I guess. Other than that pics what I get a chance, will take some on trailer. -
Sorry, have an ignorant fool here.
