  1. Are we starting a thing here? Does everybody need this car as a desktop now? haha I am in need of a new one mine is a few days old. I guess I will put this one up for a few days until another new one is needed. =P
  2. Ok, well I still think you should get a welder and learn. It will come in handy, especially with these z cars.
  3. Get a welder and learn. Use the search function this was covered under 2 months ago. If I remember correctly anywhere from 1-2,000 USD.
  4. Shiny! Yep, that seems like a good idea. The N/A ones are the 200cc?
  5. Let me clear this up. Copy paste from Flickr "Westin's Chevy Small Block 355cid Datsun 260Z" Its a 260z =D
  6. Man, check craigslist. Just search in the 6 hour radius. Might be easier just to buy a non-running entire car. When you say shell people think that's the limit and they won't pull the motor and stuff. If I found a "Clean" 240z shell for anywhere cheap I would own it lol.
  7. indyzcarclub.org. I found it because if Nissan sport magazine.
  8. I was going to get a set of those new N/A injectors on ebay for 145 plus 11 shipping. Just have to wait till I get paid Friday so I have enough money for it.
  9. Sure is, are you on the indy z car club forums.
  10. Wouldn't the turbo injectors make it more rich? This car is N/A lol. I know my injectors are bad. They are all cracked and dry rotted. Then number one was leaking I silicon ed it, kept leaking, now its not so that makes me think the injector quit working so I think I am running on 5 cylinders. I might want to get a new fuel filter and check how the gas tank is looking on the inside. Not sure if it made a difference but I was on 91 octane. I really thought it would have made more.
  11. Yes Terre Haute =P He works for Rose & Walker. Drywall, it was when I had got my first one. He thought it was cool so he sent me a pic.
  12. Well. I made 118whp and 133ft/lb of torque. That was on 91 octane running rich with bad fuel injectors. I hope I can do better later but I am still happy. I will post a scan of the print out later, or maybe just a picture we will see.
  13. I think I am going to be putting the car on a dyno tomorrow. We shall see how the day plays out. I still have to meet up with the guy buying my dome light and fusible link covers. Get gas, then drive the hour drive down there.
  14. LOL, I like the fact that I don't need a front license plate. I don't know how I haven't been pulled over for no bumpers yet.
  15. Hey, I have a great question. Injectors. What injectors will swap over without having to tune anything that I could use the stock fuel rail for. If there is a write up that would rock. Maybe Also, I think its my Fuel Pressure I am going to get an external FPR but are there any ways to make the car run a bit more lean. I get backfires alot, Partially because of the the no cat or resonator but I can smell just how rich its running. I may have an exhaust leak though.
  16. I love your car. I just realized its the car my dad sent me a few pics of on his cell a long time ago. He saw it at a job site in
  17. Yea, 2 of my friends were already doing that, the one with the Firebird and the one with a nova. I already got in trouble in the parking lot so I don't want to again! haha
  18. That would do as well. That would take FOREVER.
  19. at least he isnt running a hack job from what it looks like.
  20. I had it handled after I got out of the parking lot. Biggest problem were the people around me who thought there brakes still worked and just went sliding when they hit them like they normally would. Had a lot of people sliding thru lights and stops signs so I had to pay attention.
  21. Yes but if I just use the 240sx coil overs and the lower 240z parts it shouldn't really change anything from using 280z strut tubes because I will be cutting it down to the same length on the 280z parts as I would on the 240z parts to press the coil overs on. I would be using the upper 280z parts not 240z parts. If your saying this will not work then please explain in a little more detail. I think what you are saying is the 240z coil over sleeves are longer. That or you have to mount them up higher on the strut tubes. This would be in the event of you using them on a 240z though. What I am seeing is that the parts would work the same for a 280z as a 240z if I just use the 240z strut tubes and stuff on the lower. Then I use the 280z insulators/top hats. EDIT: I want to add that I am not trying to argue or anything. This is the way it makes sense to me. if there is something that doesn't make sense that is fine to be explained. Maybe I am not explaining my idea good enough. I just don't understand what you mean because from what I have got my idea should work.
  22. Will be done this summer. I want to at least fix my floors and hatch rust first, which seems to be the only MAJOR rust I have. I should take pictures of it all, the rust, and I mean all of it I can get to and have the capabilities of fixing, should be fixed before the school year end. Shortly after I get to Indiana I hope. I have some on the Drivers rocker, drivers lower QP, in the hatch area, and on the floors obviously. I got a feeling some is going to be harder to fix than I have anticipated after getting it down to what I have so far, but it must be done so I will just have to do what I can do. Coil overs will be next on the list. Like I said, I will do a full DIY write up. I get where your coming the what John said.
  23. So it seems like this is the place to post a suggestion. I really think all the stickies get very cluttered in the forums for when people post a Do it yourself (DIY) and things like that. I was thinking it would be a smart idea to either have a separate DIY section. Then I thought it might be even better to just have a sub-forum in each specific forum. By this I mean suspension brakes etc, engine, and the other different TECH categories that would have a DIY or anything in them. I think it would help with cleaning up the cluttered vibes in the forums from all the stickies. I think it should be monitor by the admins where your posts must be approved and possibly turned down for grammar errors and such and then resubmited with the corrected submission. Then any new content or posts made by another member giving more info into the topic can be later edited in and then the post that was added by that member deleted by the original poster. Yes, this would mean the original poster would have to keep track of their DIY. If not either another member or admin could step up to keep the up-keep going or the thread could just be edited one final time with any relevant information. Then after that all post besides the first post would be deleted and the thread be locked. I really think this would help in cleaning up the clutter and would definitely help in the searching and finding things out if you have a problem or want to do a modification or upgrade. Also as you go along you could add other relevent information found in other posts on the site and possibly have other threads removed to clean up the excess posting. Thus making it a little bit more easy to find things when we search. Just knowing the vast amount of information on this site I really do believe this would help out. Input from members and admins would be greatly appreciated. Don't be afraid to tell me my idea is bad and why, I am open to that so long as you don't get vulgar and rude. I am willing to listen to mostly all reasoning.
