  1. Yea, they like to run their old school with no struts or no springs or something retarded like that. Plus they love these ridiculous air horn setups. I would still love any of those cars.
  2. Hey guys, Just a small update. I basically stripped the entire rear interior all I have left are the "Leathers" on the strut towers. I was wondering what a Brand New (unused) space saver spare, canned air from 1977, a tool kit with unused lugs and one of the wheel chocks still in the PACKAGE! might be worth. Considering selling it, it worries me not having a spare though, I work at discount tire and that would be embarrassing to get a flat and get stranded with no spare or something. The rear seems fairly clean, looking closer at the floor board rust actually makes me feel a little better, seems to be withing my grasp of fixing with just a welder and some sheet metal. I took one of the speakers out because they were mounted above the "weed compartment" and one was broken anyways. I just stuck the other one inside the "weed compartment" with the magnet stuck for now just so I have a radio. trying to decide if I want to take it out or not. I want to take the entire carpet out but that wont happen until the floorboards are fixed. I also learned something, it has at least 2 patches with the rivet deal and then they used what seems to be undercoating or tar or some sort to seal them. That's why there is a hole on the drivers side where its at (can see rivets). But there seems to be another one on the drivers side panel that they actually did a decent ghetto job with. It it sealed but you can see the box where they cut it out. I peaked under the carpet and saw a little surface rust, hopefully they are salvageable boards, problem with buying these cars, if they have carpet the owner normally doesn't want you tearing it out.
  3. The problem is JCI and road tax. Road tax just changes depending on size of the vehicle as far as I remember. JCI would probably be expensive because it basically makes you have all of the parts Brand new basically. If they are in bad shape, you MUST replace them or the car will not be legal. We only needed to replace a CV boot on the AE101 levin (yes it was even a GT-V) and we bought that car for $100 USD, yes, that cheap.
  4. I didn't really pay attention to the prices, did you knock 2 zeros off? If so then there's no way they can be right. That would be nuts, especially over there. Cars are super cheap, even modified ones. I remember when I was there a modified R33 GTR was for sale for 4,000 USD.
  5. Umm, no but I guess that's just something that's been programed into my head (I am a teenager) Mine is now a white 240z with Advan wheels Carbon ZG's and a BRE style spoiler. Is the paragraph better now?
  6. Ok... I just have a wire running across the 2, like from the one closes to you on the right to the one farthest back on the left. I was just going to solder that on.
  7. Hey two80z4me, I have a quick question. Wanna take me some pics of how you rewired your light switch? I wanna know before I solder this splice, it seems like the splice wire gets hotter than it should (enough to melt cheap electrical tape) I know this has nothing to do with justins build but I would imagin you will look at this again, just send me a PM or something. Diamond Racing wheels are lighter, and don't be a ricer with the "Street Cred" crap, wheels are wheels, the better the function the better the wheels.
  8. Those should look pretty good. Can't wait to see the car when its finished, I mean, when you think its finished... LOL
  9. Oh you are so about to get flamed. SEARCH http://sites.google.com/a/vq240z.com/www/twistedsixx user name on here is 240hoke. Have you ever tried youtube? You will find stuff on there as well.
  10. Yea, I got kinda bored after a second so shorten it up, I also agree with the voice "punching up"
  11. Also remember these cars have cages and harnesses and they had suits and helmets and everything. I am going to go nuts thinking about that fact that if I get a side impact in my s30 I am dead, I need a roll bar with at least some sorta door bar to make me feel better, you basically sit against the door. Tell me I am not the only one that this scares? I just want basically a hoop tied into the strut towers with bars that come down diagonally next the the door/seat to the floor by the kick panel like where the ECU is mounted.
  12. I can't help it, I am in love with Big-Phil's Car, I found this site because of his youtube videos. I change it at least twice week, earlier this week I had a pic of a 280z rear end I had got off this site. Then last week I had some other z on there, it will be different before then end of tonight probably.
  13. haha, not stock of course, my car has ebay "cold" air intake thats really just a cone filter and a metal elbow where the stock box used to be, I guess you could call it a ram air intake of sorts and a old status 70's 2.25 inch exhaust to a crappy muffler. as far as I know the rest is stock and its low compression burns oil and maybe coolant. LOL, yet it still beats most the cars around town. =P gotta love a z.
  14. That's one good looking chop. I love those sportmax 002 wheels.
  15. HAHAHA, I need you manifold, I will put a stick on my car that says "Sponsored by Sticky280zx" if you give it to me for the price of shipping?
  16. Cool, what style of the diamond racing are you going to get? I love the challenger look but I think they are only 15". I knew the switch wouldn't be much, napa was cheaper when I got the switches for my trucks transmission so I figured they would be for that one. If not that's that, I really wanna see this finished, I still say the 6th is your deadline =P
  17. Bolt pattern is an easy one, 4x114.3 lol. Good luck with your "only" rust, keep searching, I promise you have surprises in store for you. Glad to see a new car on here. Oh, whats under the hood? Or is that just a ridiculous hood scoop for no reason? Looks like the hood is cut out for that and it says ram air on the side, I'm guessing this things got a V8.
  18. Hmm, i tried google and couldn't get a full translation, thanks! They are actually giving me ideas for paint scheme on my car. Lovin' it.
  19. Ok, so these wheels are reverse mount, no big deal, unless the wheel was spinning in the clams (that's what it did) then it shouldn't scratch it, and if we put expensive wheels, such as these, on the regular machines we tape the clams (duct tape) as to avoid scratching them, I remember doing that with a porch. There is no reason what so ever your wheel should look like that. Sorry Discount doesn't have a store near you. I do believe we have the no touch at all locations but cannot guaranty anything. I hope you get your situation worked out. Take your business else ware if they cannot keep your wheels good looking. I know how the wheel spun if you would like to know that too. When mounting low profiles sometimes they wont go over the rim easily (being a reverse mount it would be easier) the guy basically put the first bead on and went to put the other side on and it was to stiff to go over easily and it got locked up on the duck head, and the clamps probably turn and the rim held stationary. If he would have used a spoon to push part of the tire down while holding the other side with his hand under the duck head the tire should have went on nice and smooth. Also he might not have used enough lube.
  20. Agree'd this should have been done, Justin its not going to be a saisoku car or whatever they call those cars with no struts and crap.
  21. Yea, I guess I am not on the safe side, all the upgrade I have done to my car so far are from little write ups on here and atlanticz. I really never have read directions or anything, Just kinda figure it out on my own. Heck my first clutch swap was just doing it as I go more or less and it turned out great.
  22. Yea, I posted up the DIY in the FAQ section. Not sure if it got declined of if the admins/mods are just taking a while and discussing or what. I figured since I couldn't search it. You said you rewired it right? I am just soldering a jumper in.
  23. You don't need this switch do you? Or will it not start without it? I didn't have the reverse switch on my truck but it might have been because it was a manual with no clutch safety interlock that it would start. either way, a switch is like 20 bucks max, napa for the win, and trust me, napa will be cheaper than O'riley and auto zone doesn't carry them.
