  1. I know its theoretical numbers, but just from a durability standpoint its a decent marker if you know what I am saying. Sweet numbers though man, you make me confident that I made the right motor choice. My goals are nowhere near as lofty as yours, but its sure a ton of fun as an onlooker. You going to have a built motor at SEZ in march? Or just another longblock? I plan on being there. Evan
  2. Whoops! Sweet. Jon, any idea how much flywheel HP you were making? I think alot of people are forgetting that most people laying down big ponies are using a manual, and that auto I know is costing you 50+ hp from talking to garrett. Evan
  3. Wow, not sure what to say to that! Hey garrett, I think he is going to beat you Evan
  4. Joe, and others. The injectors came from TLF performance parts on ebay, and he agreed to replace all 6 injectors under warranty. He will likely have them sent somewhere to have them flowed/tested before installation. Evan
  5. Rags, that answers the question precisely! What injectors do you have.
  6. I did read that thread. I guess I was just wondering if the heat from the intake manifold could damage a fuel injector under normal circumstances when there is metal to metal contact. He is sending the venom's in for warranty service. Who knows whether or not they will actually do anything though. The real question is whether or not to use them again, or just snag onto a set of more reliable units. Thats why I had posted in the general fueling area. Evan
  7. Thanks for the super fast reply. Basically, the problems started pretty much immediately after installation of the new injectors. That was the ONLY change and we checked everything we could possibly think of. Basically, there are no leaks but I was concerned about the body of the injector contacting the cast manifold and overheating the injector. After doing alot of reading, it seems like Venom injectors are problematic in this exact way.. part throttle and idle misfire. Thanks - Evan
  8. I am helping out a freind with an RB25DET. He has a top feed fuel rail installed. The only way we could make the injectors fit was to stick the pintle down into the intake, and use the actual body of the injector to seal it to the intake, which also is pressed against the injector boss. Actually it fits really well, using the side feed O-rings. He has been having fueling issues, namely stumbles and misfire. I am wondering if it has anything to do with the body of the fuel injector contacting the intake manifold and heating up. These are 550cc venom fuel injectors. It develops a stumbly misfire, its a soft miss, not a hard misfire. You can hear it popping out of the exhaust. It still seems to do it when the motor is cool, but not as bad. Its noticeable under low load, and not under high load as much. Next question is whether or not the injectors were damaged from the heat. He is sending the injectors back to the original seller under warranty, but we are trying to make this situation go away and if this scenario could cause problems. Thanks in advance guys, this has been a real pain to troubleshoot. Evan
  9. Sweet I gotta learn german, thats one dirtyass motor! Ill try getting dimensions tomorrow, sorry for the wait but its like almost 100 and stupid humid out right now!! Evan
  10. I have an rb25det, ill get you dimensions today. Weight is not terrible, and it did not upset the feel of my car at all IMO. I cannot find a weight though, and 750ish is a pretty good estimate from a buddy of mine. Evan
  11. I can give you rough estimates, I just have to measure my car. However, I would think an SR20 may be a better candidate for that car. Did it come with a four or six? Evan
  12. I wish I had taken pictures when I had the rear housing off of my z31 tranny. Realistically, unless there are internal differences (which I am led to belive there is not) you should be able to swap rear housings back and forth. If anyone has a pic of a z32 trans with no tailshaft housing on it, post it, I can at least tell if something blatantly will not line up. Evan
  13. I wouldn't bother using the rb20 trans, youll blow it apart in no time. You can use a z31 turbo trans with the rb26 bellhousing. It does sit the shifter further back though. Evan
  14. Its the same as the z32 n/a transmission. I have one part that is a shim, it fell off and I am not sure which way it goes back on. It is in the tail shaft side of the transmission on the rear of the countershaft. One side is flat, the other side has a groove milled perpendicular to the hole in the center. If anyone knows, or has a good photo of how this goes in that would be awesome! Thanks - Evan
  15. I have a trans (although it has a z32 bellhousing on it)
  16. jappartsspecialist.com They are on ebay and offer good pricing on the FC's as well.
  17. http://www.jgycustoms.com Greddy intake manifold Custom 10lb flywheel (265 bucks) Top feed fuel rail Also, Pallnet on this site and zcar.com can make top feed rails as well for both the 20s and 26s.
  18. 43 psi is stock base fuel pressure, with line off. I do not know for sure about the DE motor though. I got this information from a very reliable source who knew what it was from working on a few RBs. Evan
  19. i guess what im saying is that it sounds like your base fuel pressure is too low Evan
  20. Platinums, ouch. I have had nothing but trouble with platinum in turbo motors. L28, buick 3.8l GN, and RB. I really reccomend NGKs. Are you sure your base fuel pressure is right? Sounds a little low to me. 42 psi sounds more correct. This would account for your running out of fuel as well. Just something to check out. Evan
  21. Clutch is manageable as far as weight. It does not feel stock but I am okay with that LOL. RB25DET Evan
  22. Guys, check out http://www.jgycustoms.com They had custom rb flywheels made. 10 1/2 pounds I do belive. Nice units though. I have had my eye on one for awhile. They also have fidanza. Evan EDIT; Oh yeah, I already have that XTD clutch. All I can say is GRIPPY lol. I have no real complaints. Kinda severe for a daily driver imo, but does the job for a reasonable price. Quality is pretty good. Mine is contaminated with oil and really does not slip (I have to get that fixed I know).
  23. Me too. I did not find this out personally but its kinda common knowledge over on the 240sx boards. I swapped my FPR when I did my motor swap. There is a post in another thread about your car, some dude says he has a freind who has one for 100 bucks. Thats a good deal. Evan
  24. Great, thats encouraging LOL. I see you have a griffin rad as well. Ill let you guys know how it goes. Evan I can literally feel pressure build at my pedal when sitting at idle for a couple minutes.
