  1. I saw your car coming down on the flatbed when I was riding up there. Glad to hear you're ok. Good news is there are a TON of Z cars out here you can prob swap your parts into if you go that route. I would be a little wary the LA listings as they tend to be a bit overpriced. Good luck!
  2. Haha, no. I don't think my house would even cover the cost of that engine! Just came across it and thought it would inspire a Ferrari owning Z owner to cut up his F40.
  3. I know it's probably been asked a million times, but how hard would it be to take this engine and put it in a Z?
  4. I would still try it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XHHA2HqoHw
  5. I have a hard time believing these are the real numbers, but I guess if you flow enough air, anything is possible.
  6. Not me in the video, but from what I gathered in the comments, the fire system broke from the impact (which kind of defeats the purpose no?). Even watching the video, that stopped car looked like it came out of nowhere. Good thing he had a HANS on.

    4 ROTOR

Wouldn't this technically be a 12 cylinder engine?
  8. mutantZ

    Wow

    And here it is again!
  9. mutantZ

    Wow

Can't say I'm a fan of the paint scheme, but the sound. Wow.
  10. I just remembered that the NAP-Z engine that came in the wagon can swap heads with an L engine, but the angle of the NAPZ engine block is different from the L block. The shifter would end up tilted away or towards the driver (NAPZ transmission with a L motor). I can't really remember for sure which direction it was. There's some info here about putting a NAPZ block into a 510. Should be similar. http://www.datsuns.com/Tech/swaps/510/510swaps.htm
  11. Or swap the 280zx motor into the 510 wagon! Just kidding. That was my first car. It's amazing how small the front brakes were on that car. It's like they took the rear discs and caliper off of a 200sx and put it up front, literally. edit:Sorry for the threadjack, but had to comment on that wagon.
  12. Came across this link today and was wondering what the limitations of this style of chassis? It seems like it would be more resistant to twist, but I am by no means an expert. http://www.biokustoms.com/portfolio/custom-suspension/one-off-systems/datsun-521/ Sorry posted this in the wrong forum. Meant to post it in the chassis forum.
  13. I am trying to figure out if the Imperial was the car they used in Robocop for the 6000SUX. http://www.allpar.com/history/chrysler-years/1981.html
  14. Nice bike! I rode my friend's Z1000 and was impressed with the torque that motor puts out. Must be nice not to have numb hands after a long ride.
  15. Somehow drifting a motorcycle makes drifting seem more interesting
  16. Much as I love the pie-cut-look I was always under the impression pie cuts were more of an aesthetic choice vs using pre-bent tubes. Though I guess you still need to a little math. Like this guy fabbing up headers in this "easy to do" tutorial.
  17. I'd have to say it depends. You probably will get more driving time out of the A6, as it's complete, running, and good to go. I consider my Z a lifetime project that I hope I never finish (meaning I will keep coming up with new mods not that it will remain undriveable ). If you are over dreaming up what your car could be, get the A6, it will prob save you alot of money/time/etc. If you want something that you MAKE into what you want it to be, keep the Z. That being said, I had a similar dilemma a few years back before I got my Z. If all money was equal (and so far it's ending up that way) between my 260 and a new bimmer/370z/etc I know I would not wake up every day and look at a new car the same way and think "that was worth it".

  19. Can't find it either. Anyone know the results at least?
  20. Saw this on ebay. I like that DIN panel to the left of the steering wheel (and the dash upholstery for that matter). Would be nice to move the stereo there and stick even more gauges in the center!

    Juke-TR

On second thought, I wish they put it into an s30 chassis. Then all the questions about AWD/VR38vsRB26/twin turbos would be answered!
  22. Nice work so far. I think we could all nickname our cars patches.

    Juke-TR

They should've at least done the kube
  24. The best part of that van (other than it just being bad ass) is he kept the Porsche gauges by cutting out the whole dash from both cars and bolting it in. Dunno why that made me laugh when I saw it.
