I was once riding my motorcycle thru Texas (pan handle)on the way to California, it was raining badly (the whole time). I stopped at a gas station....clay road right off the exit..soaking wet. Pulled into the gas station walked around to the front and I see what looks to be hafldog half cyote standing on the hood of an eastern indian's brand new BMW the critter is barking..scratching at the winshield..the guy inside the BMW is pleading with two guys inside to get the dog off his car. The two guys inside are wearing cowboy hats and sidearms, they are laughing hysterically. Hmmm... I go in grab a candy bar and go back to my bike...this dog thing had somehow gotten my helmet off of the top off my handle bars ( about 4' up) and had completly torn out the inside!!! Foam, fabric, and styrofoam everywhere. I get the helmet back from the deranged animal and head inside. When I asked the two guys with the hats and guns "is that your dog outside" I only got one reply...... "You ain't from around here are you boy?" With that I left... That is my only real expierience in Texas...

Well I am moving now!! I have all my stuff, minus the coil overs, and bushings. I am going to wait a couple of weeks until I order them. The car is no more than a shell now!! I bought a awesome rotissereie from Denny411, mounted the shell and am going to start my few rust repairs tonight. This rotisserie is Huge!! All 3" square stock, I could probably mount my Bronco on it with the engine, tranny, and wheels still on it. I will snap some pics tonite and post them. I should have taken all the small parts out of the shell before I mounted it. They are all uninstalled, I was just storing them in there. Maybe I will just roll it over on it's side and let them pour out!!

WOW Matt!! Thanks for sharing that. Now I'm really glad you are OK!! I hope that you won't have too long of a recovery. Interesting that you had an accident that didn't involve an idiot in a car!! Do you plan on riding again when you are healed up? How long have you been riding? Yea the "when in doubt gas it" rule doesn't work if you don't have any throttle left!! How long after you topped out second did the slapping start? What do you think caused it?

Matt's lets hear about this motorcycle accident. I was in one myself in '95 and did my share of time in the butcher shop...oops I mean hospital!!! Most people say they hate lawyers...personally I like lawyers and dislike / distrust doctors. They are worse than mechanics because at least when a mechanic is just swapping parts because he doesn't know what he is doing he can always take them back off and try something eles when it doesn't work!!! BTW I am a mechanic soooooo no offense to those out there who might also be!!!

Don't take this the wrong way but have you ever ported a head before? The only reason I as is because you are asking what tools you need just to remove the head . Then you are saying that you are going to deck the head yourself? Some people do port heads themselves but I am sure they have practiced on busted or salvage heads prior to working on their daily driver. Decking is something only a machine shop is capable of because it has to be done on a mill. You cant just grab an angle grinder and deck a head (unless it happens to be on the neck of the guy next to you ) Like I said I am not flaming you, but from the posts of yours I have read it does not seem like you have a whole bunch of expierience in this area of motor modification. I could be completly wrong and if so ...sorry, but if I am right, porting and decking should be left to a qualified machinist. Good luck!!

Yea Yea I Know I Know!!! I was going to PM you but remembered you already bought one. The only reason I bought the kit was because I was not sure if my plans with JW were going to pan out. I really only ever wanted the 1/4's anyway but since dude wouldn't sell unless I bought the whole set I grabbed it. But hey your ride would look pretty sweet with some radical fiberglass fenders...hmm? hmm? c'mon you know you want em!!!
