  1. I've gone for a 4.11 so hopefully it works well for me. Do you find it to be too short at all or is it pretty much spot on?
  2. Radiator Core Support Reinforcement. Is this very worth doing? I'll be seam welding a fair bit of my car aswell as subframe connectors, strut braces and eventually a half cage but as I'll be redoing my bay shortly I thought this would be a fairly easy mod to do using fairly small tubing as to keep weight down so I'm just wondering will this really add much strength? Also is it worth adding some tubing beetween the back of the shock towers and the bulkhead even if theres no other supporting mods like being linked to a full cage inside? I'd also like to know the easiest way to reinforce the pedal box/brake MC mount?
  3. Thanks Coilovers are from Mckinney Motorsports and the idictators I got from Z Car Source
  4. I'll keep that in mind thanks, but what I'm idealy after is a 4.1 as anything higher than that and motorways start becoming a pain. Thanks but it won't be any use to me, I already have an R200 as my car is a UK 260Z and as I'll be running an RB26DETT shortly I'll need the strength of the R200. Well, I only need the Pinion and crownwheel so the whole diff won't need shipped which will help, If I can arrange postage I can get it for a decent price as I know someone who owns a shipping company. I take it its you who is selling it and you've not just given me the link? If so I am interested if you are willing to send just the parts I need, I can still pay for the whole diff if you want so you won't loose any money and I can probably sort out the shipping so you won't have to do anything there. Let me know, thanks
  5. I'm looking for a long nose R200 diff with a 4.1 final drive, I don't even need the whole diff, just the pinion and crownwheel.
  6. Nice vid, Hows the GoPro? I've heard about a lot of problems with the new ones.
  7. Thanks Guys ^^^^ Thats correct, most places kept the 260Z until 78 and we didn't get any of the extra emissions junk that a lot of the later USA cars seem to have. I'm having a problem deciding whether I actually want to take the L26 out, but I think in the end thats what I'll do, I don't mind not keeping it stock as I bought it to enjoy driving it and any work I do will be to enchance that enjoyment and improve how well it drives, originallity and value don't mean much to me, but I do want to keep the oldschool look, won't be doing anything crazy with the styling.
  8. You'd have to make your own transmission mount.
  9. Pm'd you Rick. Can anyone tell me the difference beetween ricks mounts and the Mckinney mounts regarding engine position, Idealy I want my engine as far back and low as possible for good weight distribution and COG. But also because I'm not that big and my arms aren't that long, if the engine mounts put the engine too far forward so that the gearstock ends up near the front of the hole then I'm going to have to reach forward to change gear which I don't want.
  10. I didn't recieve a PM but I am interested in the mounts, could you send me some pics please.
  11. Something like that would be good, better if I can find one in the UK though, saves on postage and import duty and vat. I'm thinking about changing my diff now to a 4.1 ratio to go better with a GTS-T gearbox, pity I can't swap it all accross from that diff. Hoping to find a long nose 4.1 R200 from an S12 Silvia. Might end up being easier just to swap a whole diff unit like that, I'm thinking that if my Z31T cv shafts mate with that ok then all I'd need to do to fit a short nose R200 like the above would be to fab a new front mount for it? I think a 2 way would be a bit hardcore for my intended use, I think a 1.5 way would be better on the road and better on engine braking, probably less understeer.
  12. Trying to decide on which ratio diff to use for when I swap in an RB26DETT. Was originally planning on using my stock 3.7 R200 but I now beleive this will be too long. So option are: 3.7 3.9 4.1 4.3 I'm thinking 4.1 would be good as I'll be running at least 400HP, 3.9 would do but still might be slightly too long. What do othesrs think? What are you other guys with RB's running?
  13. Still a fair bit to do, lots of updates to come then, looking forward to seeing this when its finished.
  14. I would do if I could find any, had no luck so far. Always hard to get confirmation of the fitment and measurements too and I don't want to be buying the wrong one.
  15. Post of some photos of what your mounts look like please.
  16. Thanks for that, at least I can use that as a backup and fit nearly any diff. Whatever diff I get though, it can't be as a replacement for a vicous lsd can it as the viscous output shafts would be longer than open or clsd ones wouldn't they? But still this gives me the option of any clsd or open diff replacement LSD.
  17. Thanks for confirming that. I'll definitly not flip the cages and will go with shorter axles, I think theres a place in the uk that can make me custom ones as long as I can give them the correct length,
  18. Thanks, no binding with this setup then? I'm confused, my stock 300ZXT axles are probably not the correct size, thats why people suggest reversing the cages? If I had the M2 axles for example then I definitly wouldn't reverse the cages. I'll have a look in the group buy thread.
  19. Thanks. I didn't atually realise they were different lengths, I thought it was only the input shafts that were different lengths. I guess they are both shorter than the originals by the same length, so if I measure that against my original I should be able to work it out. But hopefully someone can confirm the length for me before then. It may be that it works ok on mine with just the cages reversed, but do they work aswell reversed?
  20. Yeah, its a LOAD of money, Cusco quality is spot on though and it can be adjusted from 1.5 way to 2 way if desired but I think I'll look for cheaper options first, like a Nismo unit if I can find a 1.5 way one that fits. I'm going to have a lot of work going on when I'm home from work next so I'll definitly have a build thread.
  21. Can anyone give me the lengths of the shorter M2 shafts please? I'm going to get a set made but I need to know what length to get them made.
  22. Could you run boost by gear, or aftermarket traction control, this works well on high power fwd's - will put as much power down as possible but not let the wheels spin up more than they should therfore giving you maximum acceleration. Should work equally well on RWD
  23. 78Z/250GTO - I love the Quaife in my FWD EF9, its great for that but I just don't think it will suit what I'm looking for with the S30, would certainly be good in a road only car but as I intend to also track mine the way the quaife behaves when a rear wheel lifts doesn't suit me, zohanisback - yeah, I will be running more power than I feel happy putting through an R180. I do believe I have found a CLSD that is a direct fit for my R200 without even the need for shims as it has 10mm ring gear not 12mm. Problem is it rather expensive, but you pay for quality.
