  1. You already know I am interested in the smaller steel setup.
  2. Definitly one of the best looking 2+2's I've ever seen.
  3. Wow, nice to see an update, its looking great, Keep up with the updates please.
  4. And that with the 370Z having much gripper tyres, imagine how it would have gone if they used a control tyre.
  5. Great Video, always loved this car when following the build thread so great to see it in action, it did very well although this highlights for me that brakes will be very important in my build, thing is the 370Z is always going to brake better as it runs wider front tyres. 370Z sounds great.
  6. IMO if you are going to go RB26 NA then you should either do it properly or not at all. For decent power you are going to want around 11:1 comp ratio, custom pistons and custom ground cams to suit an NA setup would be the best way. I definitly wouldn't skim the head or deck the block, best to leave as much there as possible imo.
  7. The costs would have been beyond my budget which is Why I'm going RB26. However once I get a house sorted and move up the career ladder a bit more I do hope to fit the S80 to a car of some sort, either a 260Z or a E30 M3.
  8. Nice photos, I like the ones with the Burj Khalifa in the background. I spent 5 months in Abu Dhabi in winter last year, had a great time, gutted I didn't get to go back this year. I lived at the Yas Marina Cicuit and loved all the car action, F1, drag racing, drivng on the F1 track in a few different cars, drifting in one of the big car parks outside the track, not to mention all the nice cars you see in Dubai.
  9. I have no doubts that Cusco LSD's are very good, anything made by Cusco I've used before has been very good, but I don't feel it will be quite as good for road use.
  10. Didn't realise they were 13mm, thought the would be 12mm. VAT is 20% so with duty and shipping that would add about $400 to the retail price, which is too much really.
  11. Its definitly still looking like the OS Giken is the way to go. The OS will be more expensive than a Kazz, but I doubt its more than a Cusco as the cusco lsd would cost me over £1200 (and thats pounds, not dollars) so thats already very expensive. I'm waiting from a reply from the UK OG Giken dealer but I expect it to cost less than that. (Hopefully)
  12. +1 for OS Giken then, hopefully get some more opinions also. I'm sure the Cusco is a great LSD but I've heard the OS Giken unit is very good for the road as it has nice smooth and progressive lock and doesn't chatter much at slow speeds, can you confirm that its good in these areas compared to other clsd's? Thanks
  13. I've decided to go with a CLSD for my build and I've narrowed it down to either a Cusco or an OS Giken. Has anyone run either of these lsd's that can give some feedback.? I'll be going for a 1.5 way whichever I get. It will be mainly street use but also some track days and the odd bit of drag strip action. What would you reccommend? Cusco RS or OS Giken Giken http://www.osgiken.net/products.php?Category2=&SubCat2=&product=lsd&submit.x=34&submit.y=18 Cusco http://www.limited-slip.com/acatalog/How_A_Cusco_LSD_Works.html
  14. I'm about to upgrade my brakes ready for an RB26DETT swap, I will be doing trackwork so my brake setup has to be as powerfull and well balanced as possible. I plan to use the AZC willwood setup on the front with a 1" master cylinder with my stock booster (same as 280Z) and an adjustable prop valve: But I still don't know what to use on the rear, I want something that will be powerfull and balance out the front setup well. I was originally planning on using the silvermine setup as I figure this will easily balance out with the front and will provide plenty of power. My only problem with it is that it is rather heavy, twice the weight of the stock drums. So my other option is using a smaller solid disc setup like the below: I know these function well and are lighter than the bigger silvermine setup, but will it be possible to get a good balance with these? are they going to be powerfull enouth. Which setup do you think I should run? The bigger more powerfull setup and just accept the extra weight or the smaller lighter setup? Need to make the right choice so all help appreciated, hopefully others running similar setups can help.
  15. It should be possible to fit flares without having to re-paint the rear quarter shouldn't it? Just as long as you take your time at the welding and don't do it all at once and therefore overheat the metal and paint.
  16. Assuming you have an RB26 with 8000rpm redline, 245/45/16 wheels and a stock R33 GTS-T gearbox then it will come down to how much power you have and how good your aero is. Reason I say this is you'll never reach your top geared speed which would be 223mph with the above setup.
  17. I've gone for a 4.11 so hopefully it works well for me. Do you find it to be too short at all or is it pretty much spot on?
  18. Radiator Core Support Reinforcement. Is this very worth doing? I'll be seam welding a fair bit of my car aswell as subframe connectors, strut braces and eventually a half cage but as I'll be redoing my bay shortly I thought this would be a fairly easy mod to do using fairly small tubing as to keep weight down so I'm just wondering will this really add much strength? Also is it worth adding some tubing beetween the back of the shock towers and the bulkhead even if theres no other supporting mods like being linked to a full cage inside? I'd also like to know the easiest way to reinforce the pedal box/brake MC mount?
  19. Thanks Coilovers are from Mckinney Motorsports and the idictators I got from Z Car Source
