If your 280z is has an R180 then yes, but if its a R200 then no. The 260 is likely an R180. Search for pics to tell the difference, but the 200 is noticeably wider
Was just out there this morning. 83zx non turbo 5 speed. 140k miles. It also has the 6spoke wheels with decent tires. The wheel lock key is in the glove box.
good luck
I'd say 10-12k just for the labor and tuning. Perhaps you could help him find a car that already has most of the things he is looking for, instead of starting from scratch?
Yeah you match the gear to the rear end ratio. If its a stock 240z rear end you probably have 3:36 or somewhere in that ball park. Take the speedo gear from the 4 speed you removed and install it on the 5 speed.
Here are the speedo gears and corresponding rear ratio's
YELLOW is the 16 tooth for the 3.36
BLACK is the 17 tooth for the 3.54
BLUE is the 18 tooth for the 3.70
WHITE is the 19 tooth for the 3.90
RED is the 20 tooth for the 4.11
PURPLE is the 21 tooth for the 4.38
Summit sells a griffen aluminum radiator for about $180 but you'd have to weld tabs.
I see these on ebay all the time- this one comes with fans

But the stock radiator in good shape should do fine for a relatively stock motor. I have an L28 flat top P90 engine with a header in my 240 and even on hot days (90+ here in CA) it cools my engine fine.
In my current Z I have a 3.90 R200 with the stock 4 speed. It made a big difference over the stock gears that were in it (3.36's) I have an L28.
My prior Z had 4:11's from the 200sx turbo and 1st gear with the stock early 4speed was a little too tall for me. I swapped in a 83 5-speed and it balanced out the gears nicely.
Looks like an integra front bumper?
You have to wonder when they were making the rear wing, during moch up how many times did they say "nah, make it a little taller"
Where is the ECU located in the car ?
Make sure its away from any direct heat source and air can flow around it
You could also take the cover off the ECU and inspect the boards inside, make sure there isnt a bunch of dirt or other crud in there..
Found this cruising craigslist, not my ad or anyone I know, just passing it on.

Imagine if you were the driver, the beating you would take........
Yep pretty much the drivetrain. The rear brake calipers and rotors can be used for a rear disk brake swap. but you'll need special caliper brackets.
Keep the donor car till you get the swap running. Nothing sucks more than thinking you have all the parts you'll need and getting rid of the car, only to later have to go out and buy stuff you threw away.
Blue and black go well together. I really like the blue that came on early 350z's. Are you painting your engine the same color as the engine compartment? If not I'd paint the engine black
