  1. Here is their email responce: 12/17/02 12:16 pm >Have you developed Air Struts yet? I know they are probably for >compacts, but I was wondering if they could be modified for a >Datsun 240Z? > >Mike ===== Comments by brian@ridetech.com (Brian Shaw) at 12/17/02 1:06 pm Yes we do have airstruts but not for a 240Z. We could provide our universal airstrut but you would have to fabricate the bracketry to install them in that car. 2. I don't know, I haven't seen them yet. I did email Air Ride about them, and as soon as I here from them I'll post their responce here.
  3. The problem is they are not made for a strut suspension. But I read that Air Ride Suspensions is developing a strut system for compacts, that could be modified for a Z/ZX
  4. I'm located north east of Atlanta off of I-85. Right now I'm putting about 375hp to the ground with a fuel injected 327, and a T56 6 speed. In the future I may be adding a 150hp shot NOS! What other pics do you want?
  5. Shortened 12 bolt Chevy, with 295-50-15 on 10 X 15" wheels that fit under the stock fenders. People say it has a Pro-Street look.
  6. It should be under the steering column, under the dash.
  7. Alright! good news!, let me know if you need any help with the Z.
  8. Well CRAP!, I don't want a skinny tire in my minitubed wheel wells (275/60/15 Nittos) , I can't transport slicks with rims just for drag racing. Now I can't use 325/50/15 drag radials, (which would fill my wheel wells perfectly),that I thought I could use as my rear tires! This sucks!
  9. I looked at Nitto, and RA-1s and they don't have anything close to what I want(325/50/15). I did want to use them as my everyday rear tires, but now you are scaring me with the rain thing! What's wrong with cornering?
  10. I did the same thing a while ago. I used the light from Ron Fransis Wiring that also uses tape to hold on the glass. But I found that when the car sits in the hot summer sun for a while the glue releases and the light falls off, hanging by the wire. What I did was add two smal aluminum brackets from the hatch to the light to hold it in place. http://www.ronfrancis.com/catalogwindow.asp
  11. I think it may be cheaper, if you can find a local to shorten, and rebuild it. Most 9" need aftermarket stuff to make it stronger which costs money. I think the light weight Z can handle a close to stock 12 bolt or 9" with gobs of power and not break. I will send you some pics.
  12. I got one of the first pairs they put out. I also made aluminum brackets for them. I think I paid $128 ea for them.
  13. How about this photoshop pic
  14. The total cost was around $2000, that's with me doing all the labor. The diff itself was around $1300, that included shortening, rebuild the posi, new gear set, replace all bearings, new moser axles, and disc brakes. All the parts are listed, frame material, and diff were bought locally. It should be able to handle what ever you throw at it. No u-joints or half shafts to break! I have a few pics if you want me to email them to you.
  15. That was great! ...Watch the little grey dog!
  16. I did, shortened 12 bolt Chevy, posi 3.73:1 , moser axles, 79 trans am disc brakes. Check out this post: http://www.hybridz.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=001415
  17. I think you can do it for that. You should be able to sell the turbo engine, and add a little to your total. Just budget, and try to find good used parts when you need them.
  18. Sounds like your drivetrain angles are off. Check this site: http://www.iedls.com/guide.html
  19. No thanks, I'll stay in the south!
  20. Man, I'd hate to get in the way of that chainsaw!!
  21. Also try http://www.swracecars.com They have kits for the 240Z, but should be the same for the 280Z
