  1. I guess that only works with the early strut tubes, not the larger 280z tubes.
  2. How would you go about making a specific angle cut in round tubing?
  3. Man that thing must have some lumpy cams to be idling like that.
  4. I was excited the day I got a ti-89... Does that make me a dork?
  5. Isn't that section of the car the part that creates lift in the rear? The laminar air flowing over the downward slope of the car is what causes lift, right? So, if one were to interrupt this laminar flow, with louvers of course, the effect would be to minimize rear lift. (although probably at the expense of an increased drag coefficient.)
  6. I would do it if I had a truck. I'll call up my friend who lives in clearlake and see if he's willing to do it. -Oliver
  7. The renault modus looks alot like the nissan versa.
  8. $15 but they're a little bigger than you need 'em. They can be custom ordered, but that means more $$ http://bluegrassmuffler.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=2011
  9. That looks AWESOME! You picked an excellent color. Is that the color that the outside is going to be as well?
  10. I'm pretty sure the spacing on your throttle bodies is 80mm. Spacing on the mikuni manifold (for DCOE's, PHH, etc) is 90mm. And i'm also pretty sure you throttle bodies are spigot mount. You would have to weld a flange to the TB to get them to "bolt on". I did see one guy weld the throttles onto his manfiold... http://www.preludepower.com/forums/showpost.php?p=932168&postcount=116
  11. My engine setup: l28 N42 block and Head flat top pistons (10:1 cr) 272/282 crane cam .450" lift 240sx 60mm Throttle body 2.5" mandrel exhaust Header Stock fuel injectors 1983 280zxt Distributor Software: Megasquirt N Spark Extra 029q For ignition I am using a VB921 coil driver setup to the first LED on the V2.2 Board. ***edit*** I would like to add that I have been driving this car since august with MegaSquirt almost everyday. I have taken it on long trips (200miles) and recorded mileage of up to 27mpg on the highway. I do not guarantee this map in the higher load higher rpm ranges... attached are the files in zip format, including the exported tables. olie05settings.zip
  12. here ya go... but its a step down from steel: http://cgi.ebay.com/1-1-2inx4-3-8in-flared-port-tubes-for-speaker-cabinets_W0QQitemZ150171675979QQihZ005QQcategoryZ23794QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem I guess this really won't work if you are planning on staying turbocharged.
  13. two different metals, say aluminum vs. cast iron expand at different rates. So, there may not be a big enough gap between the exhaust and the head, until your engine heats up and then there is enough gap to make a noise. but that doesn't necessarily mean that your noise is coming from there, or is caused by that.
  14. aluminum seems to be the problem here. If you step it down to steel the options get better. (empi, weber applications etc) You may have to revise the design of your plenum if you were planning on welding the stacks in.
  15. maybe your intake manifold gasket blew out, could be the injector seal. I doubt the manifold cracked though. If it's happening under vacuum it has to be coming from somewhere between the TB and the intake ports. I'm curious to see what it turns out to be. I don't want any geese in my engine bay.
  16. I recently decided to stop crawling in from the passengers side to get into my car... and I found about 6 different things wrong with the door handle/lock system. Its not too hard to figure out once you're in there and spend some time getting to know the system (and what parts are missing!) Good Luck
  17. WOW. Did you just fix the problem that the stock z has of having the rear wheels too far forward? amazing.
  18. I was looking through one of my last megasquirt datalogs, and I found that at 60% throttle, I get full ambient pressure in the manifold. So that last 40% is doing nothing. This is with a 60mm 240sx throttle body and throttle body flange ported to match. On my 42mm ITB's i'm planning on attaching the 944 throttle cam that everyone gets rid of. It should help with tip-in and low speed driveability.
  19. Thats not just for shits and giggles. It's engineering. I'm sure you feel just a little better now that you know for sure that your mounts are strong enough for the torque your engine puts out.
  20. Those are all the same reasons why I have stayed NA all these years. (even while hanging around hybridz) Early on I made a decision, and that was to either put flat tops or dished pistons in my block. I chose the flat tops and never looked back. I love the sound of my engine in the mid 6000rpm range... and I don't even have the ITB's on yet. I say ditch the turbo when you switch to the gixxer itbs, and then decide if you want to put it back on later.
  21. I want to hear the megaphones! Also, if anyone is interested in making molds, I found this video rather informative. http://youtube.com/watch?v=DEa5_WHQZo0
  22. Ok this thread is getting off topic. I keep looking back at it waiting for an update, only to see more questions about the GSXR throttle bodies. Read these websites and become better informed on the motorcycle throttle bodies. http://msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=6627 http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=127069 http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/226806
  23. "girls require time and money" last time I checked "and" meant add not multiply. I hereby declare this proof invalid.
