  1. What will the japanese think of next? Quote: (altavista translation) Super power egg Including tax 8 and 190 Yen From the instant which was inserted in the tank ' fuel economy improvement ' From the instant which was inserted in the tank ' torque rise ' From the instant which was inserted in the tank ' the energy conservation ' You are accustomed to the rich person from today! http://www.bee-r.com/main/parts/sonota/egg.htm
  2. Regarding the 6 coil setup, megasquirt will do a wasted spark setup with the VB921 coil drivers. You would have to install six of them into your case (not an easy packaging excersise). Megasquirt does dwell control, but you do have to put in an initial number, such as 3.0ms to start off with, and MS will do the rest for varying speeds/voltages etc. The cleanest install would be individual coils controlled by MS. No EDIS modules on your fenders and no unsightly plug wires from the fender to the spark plugs. Megasquirt will also do COP style firing (non-wasted spark) If you run the cam trigger wheel like you are saying. Your options are pretty unlimited with megasquirt.
  3. Hey guys, Well the MS150 is in two days and I could use some donations! http://ms150.org/ms150/donate/donate.cfm?id=197818 Don't forget this is a tax deductible donation (if you qualify) and its going to a great cause. -Oliver
  4. I have some decent biking gloves i've been using. I'm holding off on the bar tape until I can get ahold of a 90mm front stem. I've put in about 20-30miles a day on the machine for the past 3 days. No time to take it to a shop, but I have been setting it up myself, fine tuning and adjusting EVRYTHING. I'm trying to get my riding position just right and getting comfortable on the saddle for long distances.
  5. It doesn't matter if you are getting power if you don't have a ground. Check to make sure the groun for the relay board is still making contact with a grounding source.
  6. bump I got shifters finally. Ultegra 9spd shifters... and they work flawlessly. Also, don't forget to donate via the link: http://ms150.org/ms150/donate/donate.cfm?id=197818
  7. Have you pulled your valve cover yet? Thats where I would start. Then I would move on to electrical connections.
  8. I noticed my idle smoothed out when I switched from bosch to NGK BPR7es Gapped at .035" N/A stock 77 ignition
  9. Awesome. What engine management is that? Also, how big is the cam?
  10. Thanks GeeZ! Saw your car the other day... lookin sweeeet. And its going to be FAST. -Oliver
  11. well, i could switch out the rear derailleur... perhaps to one that matches whatever shifters i get... We will have to see. I'm going to be figuring all that stuff out tomorrow. I really wanted integrated shifters, since as you mentioned I have no bosses for downtube shifters. Also, since the frame has oversize tubing, i can't use a clamp style mounting bracket for shifters. I'll keep this thread updated with what I end up doing. Thanks for the comments Jimbo! -Oliver
  12. I'm still thinking about what to do with the frame. Polishing it is definitely the first idea. I'm going to ride it around until after summer, when I can dismantle it, clean it, and decide what to do with the frame. I wonder if I could have it powdercoated... that would be cool too maybe a clearcoat. who knows. I appreciate any donations, and I hope your mother is not fully diagnosed. -Oliver
  13. Hi everyone! In a few weeks I will be riding in the MS150 bike tour. For those who don't know, the MS150 is a bike ride from Houston to Austin (150 miles) to benefit people who suffer from Multiple sclerosis. Each rider has to raise $400 to participate in the event, and i think it would be great if I had the support of my fellow hybridz-ers. Here is the link to donate: http://ms150.org/ms150/donate/donate.cfm?id=197818 The MS150 organizers run the website, and they keep track of who has raised how much, and this way you know where the money is going. On to the fun stuff... I have been building a bike for the tour... It just so happens that everything on the bike is aluminum. Here are the specs: Aluminum 54cm frame (6061) Aluminum 1" threaded Fork (converted to threadless) Aluminum 44cm handlebars Aluminum 700c wheels (Trek front, Mavic Rear) Aluminum Seatpost Shimano derailleurs 9 speed rear cassette, 2 front chainrings... 18speeds! Aluminum Crankset from my old nishiki Aluminum modolo speedy brakes Enjoy the pics! If you like what you see don't forget to donate to the cause! http://ms150.org/ms150/donate/donate.cfm?id=197818
  14. Cool! can you change your fuel/spark maps with that thing too?
  15. That center console is awesome! The whole car is a work of art. Great Idea for the mounting of the spare tire as well. CONGRATS!
  16. So was your fuel pump wired inline with the injectors or something? -or- was your battery so weak that the injectors opening drained voltage that much?
  17. Good stuff. I wish it came in colors other than red though. (perhaps blue) The red looks too night rider for me.
  18. Hah! apparently MR2 owners get offended when you compare them to fieros. I found this out the hard way on MR2oc.com I had the opportunity to work on a 87 n/a mr2. That has got to be one of the hardest cars I've ever worked on. http://233k.highmileage.org/mr2.html
  19. do you have a stim board to hook up to it? otherwise thats probably all you will get. The stim board completes the circuits for the iat, o2, clt, rpm, and tps, as well as providing power. get one! on another note, you should be able to connect with your pc by just providing power.
  20. That engine sounds soo smooth!
  21. i would hardly call a 964 an "old" porsche 911... but i guess that's just me.
  22. wow this thread is making me want to put some of the interior parts back in my car!!
  23. so at one point this thread was about adjustable control arms... any update on a possible price for the revised pair... and an availability date?
  24. Its all opinion... here's mine: I like the 280z lights with amber signals as illustrated by Joel. You could always black out the reverse light... and stuff a really high watt bulb in there. That would give you the "two bar" tail light look without the odd placed reverse light. and on the dash... I love my 280z dash and I think the 240 dash isn't curvy enough compared to mine. It could be dash cap that i'm in love with though, who knows. -Oliver
