  1. ummm Hook 'em horns? (more like go coug's lol)
  2. That airdam is easily available through MSA or the other one (...er whats it called now?? Dragon something...)
  3. That last one is nice. Maybe minus the porsche wanna-be whale tail. My idea of subtle body modifications include shaving drip rails zg flares g-nose and lowering the car. All those things add to the lines, instead of creating huge bulbous fenders, and ginormous wings. case in point: Austin's (240hoke) car. That car looks dead sexy (and I know all of you agree with me on that) and the exterior mods are minimal. Even before the ZG's the car looked like sex. ok i need to stop typing in this thread cus this is not my area of interest at all. (i hate bodywork X 11)
  4. OK i'll be the first to say that you guys are killing the lines of the z!!! to each his own though. I'd like to see a body kit that is very subtle. One that works around the lines, instead of making new ones. or maybe I should get my head out of the clouds...
  5. In sectioning strut tubes, it seems it is common practice to leave the insert in while welding, taking care not to weld the actual insert to the strut housing. If you purposefully leave a gap, then you are more likely to accidentally weld the insert in. The inner sleeve method would be the best by far, and if your insert fits in with this in place, go for it, just make sure you don’t rely on thin wall tubing for your strut housing and make sure it is ALL weld.
  6. wow can't wait to see pics of it in "drift trim" looks great!
  7. don't forget that the z32 tranny swap puts the shifter further back than the stock location, so if your going to move the engine/ tranny back even more, your shifter will be WAY far back. If you look at the stock 5 speed, the shifter has a curve in it to bring it back towards the driver. If you stuck with that transmission, you could use a straight shifter and still be comfortable shifting. just something to add to your list of complications
  8. why not? its in the non-tech board... anything goes except for politics and religion right?
  9. how 'bout you lose the bumper instead? That airdam looks awesome with no bumper. *speaks from experience* lol
  10. This thread has gotten way off topic It would be nice if there was a way to make everything into some sort of a log of otm's work, instead of a place to bs... I fear this thread is past recovery.
  11. What are those big bolts by the fuel cell for? To insure that the lines dont scratch when the rear squats? ... I think I can guess what the big nuts are for
  12. If i had a 2+2 i think i'd call it ugly also. j/k! good progress, and I can't wait to see it painted.
  13. Perfect entrant for FSAE... minus the 260 hp engine
  14. lol. Don't start with the harmonic balancer or the water pump. Start with the easy stuff. Like savageskaterkid said, its most likely an exhuast leak. Vibrations can come from anything, but main causes of vibration are unplugged harnesses that cause the car to run on 3 cylinders, such as spark plug wires or injector harnesses. Make sure all the harnesses are plugged in REALY tight. One more thing that would make the engine vibrate AND add vibration would be a head gasket failure. Make sure there isn't oil in the water or water in the oil (look for green stuff on the dipstick). Maybe do a compressoin test and find the naughty cylinder thats causing the vibration.
  15. ah so thats how you tell if you have a stroker crankshaft in your engine!
  16. looks like it fell off the boat when it was shipped, and has been rusting ever since...
  17. maybe your distributor is not timed right with the crank? Maybe the rotor is sweeping past where you have designated timing, and it is causing that kind of behavior. unless the car was running fine before and all of a sudden it started acting up. n/m just read your post and it seems that the spark is cutting out completely. did you build it yourself? are you sure the vb921 is hooked up correctly? (are you using the vb921 coil driver?)
  18. you know they sell relay holders that plug into that style (bosch) relay?
