  1. I've never heard of Z's having metal in the wheelwell. A few (very few) Z's that I have seen have plastic fender liners. I need more pics of your rolling paintwork!! lol Oh yeah, what coilover springs did you buy, and what parts are going along with it? also are those the front or rear springs that are pictured?
  2. the 300zx has a tilted radiator, right? if that is so, I would NOT mount the fan on the back of the radiator support, unless you are building some kind of shroud that will direct all the suction of the fan to the radiator. I had a taurus 2 speed electric fan setup pusher style on my car, and the temp gauge would get hotter than I liked. I checked out the operation of it, and since I didn't have it flush mounted to the radiator, alot of the air was spilling out the sides, and not being forced through the radiator. even a small electric fan will do if mounted flush with the radiator, and with the right control device. good luck -oliver
  3. while the car is running it gets reads about 11.5 volts. With the new alternator the gauge reads what the volt meter reads, but before it was reading a completely different number. anyone have wiring diagrams for an internally regulated alternator? btw: those are my legs in the pictures
  4. eh, looks better than a regular 2+2.
  5. ok I have a few more question before i try it on my primered fender this weekend... You said you used mineral spirits, but today I went to lowe's to find the "high performance enamel" rustoleum, and on the back it said to use it straight, but if spraying, thin with acetone. Obviously you are not spraying, yet you are thining it. Could you please explain this?
  6. the solution to this would be to cut the radiator cross member out, tilt the top of the radiator towards the front of the car at about a 45* angle, and have some ductwork going from the back of the radiator to a hole in the hood. check out blueovalz's albums this is done quite abit on race cars. Turns trapped air into downforce
  7. I was wondering if the MSD 6A and the MSD SCI are essentially the same thing? Looking at the descriptions for both, it seems that the only difference is that the SCI goes up to and past 10,000rpm, and the 6A doesn't advertise anything like that. just looking for cheaper alternatives on ebay
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=119133&item=8036912266 even more, same winning bidder.
  9. They remind me of the crx SI seats I once had in my car. They had high shoulders just like the 350z seats. Cant seem to find any good pictures to post of them installed though.
  10. yeah for sure. I'd like to get more pressure in there! I think i'm going to head out to that side of town this weekend.
  11. how many red lights did that guy run? I wanted to see shots of the car.
  12. yeah, my car is desperately out of tune with 10:1cr header exhaust and free-er flowing intake. Megasquirt will be my friend.
  13. on the opposite side of this thread... how low is too low? sometimes while cruising at just under 3000rpm, my oil pressure will be around 25-30psi. I notice this only happens once the engine is up to full operating temps. I run 10w-30 synthetic. Unless that is normal, I'm going to try 10w-40 for the next oil change and see if anything gets better.
  14. check out tim's (the admin) website: http://tim240z.iwarp.com/index.html he has done something like what you are thinking about, just with the lights in the stock location.
  15. SWEET! its about time we see the L28 getting swapped INTO something... instead of being swapped out of the z.
  16. how much lower than stock 240 ride height is that? looks sweet!!! according to my calcs you were doing about 125.12512512512512512512512512513mph
  17. rsx headlights? http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/02/rsxtypes05_11.jpg i don't know

  19. is that how long its going to be?
  20. I saw 105 at the racetrack near orlando. I even took a picture btw the headlights on that car look like they come off of another car, can't quite figure out which though.
  21. ditto, and now for the agonizing wait for shipping...

    Knott's

You should stop by houston and say hi! there are several z people here!
  23. I agree with ed on this one. I have trouble breaking traction (on the street) unless its wet, or i'm powering out of something really hard. The wet traction is really good too. Sadly though, I have yet to go to an autocross with these tires but I suspect they will grip harder than the falken ziex 512's I had on there before. don't forget, this is a STREET tire!
  24. the bill or the patch? btw can you put me down for one?
  25. It's mostly the convertible guys that I have seen that do that. Looks pretty clean.
