  1. anyone have anymore photos of there interior? I just gutted the back half, and layed the deck carpet back over the hatch area and it looks nice, but you maintain the not having the deck part. Im going to gather the willpower to take off the driver carpets, im scared of what i might find lol... does anyone have any good products that you can put over holes to reduce noise and fumes entering, all of my drain plugs are gonelol
  2. haha. well, my car already has some open areas to the exhaust so if I fileld those my car would be rather queit, so taking everything out isnt going to make it toooo loud. we'll find out in about 20 minutes.
  3. or you can go to Z car customs, they make front an rear brackets, bolt on.
  4. my car is already really loud, I dont think Im going to do a full strip, just from behind the seats back so I can fit the cage then maybe ill fab up some aluminum door panels to replace them, and my floor pans are good so ill see how I like the that while im at it. Itll look kinda silly until I get the cage in and new seats, but once i do itll look more like it means business than Im broke haha. thanks for the feedback, and the cars lookin great as always, love the dash!
  5. i like the front air dam from the kit, but thats about it as far as that kit goes. keep on truckin, im pretty sure mines getting the grinder and flat black paint job here soon to fix some micky mouse rust issues on the body panels.
  6. I spent a while searching and couldn't find any factual facts (redundant lol) about stripping your interior, Ive taken most of the creature comforts out of my 280z anyway, so I thought Why not take out most of the rest. What I wanted to know, is about how much weight can you shed off of the interior by taking out the rear deck and all of its fixings and the extra assorted clutter in the vehicle? I know you like to know what the car is used for, so here you go; The car is used for Daily Driving, back and forth to school and work for a short trip back and forth, on the other 75% of the time its being auto-x'd, track day, and the occasional cruise through town and late night drift sessions. Im going to be getting an autopower race cage and Seats and harness's soon anyway, so why not? give me what you got, in the form of clean stripped interior shots and ideas. Thanks.
  7. pffff I will get some 50 series tire, on my new 15 inch enkei meshies. 225/50/15 and im running Cut tokico Hp series springs. without the bushings on the back strut tower, i need to put those in to level it out. and for stickyzx, i dont have the big old honkin 70's no more, im using 195/60 on the back and 195/55 front. here for reference:
  8. damn, Im definatly not up to par with the last couple pages, but here I go with the celica wheels, and new set waiting for tires and I have some all black enkei 92 mesh 15x7 0 offset that will be going on shortly... along with some other goodies.
  9. i look forward to this, I like these wheels but my ride height is so low that I worry about them rubbing on my fenders....
  10. same, and when I put the cut springs on my car I got crazy negative camber in the back, so I need adjustable something here pretty soon to correct it.
  11. damn straight they will spin like a top, Im going to be running 225/50/15 toyo proxes here soon on 15x7 enkei 92's so this is interesting, my car is also lowered a considerable amount, 2.5". and they dont rub at all with the negative camber i have on 14x7 8 offset 195/60/14's so, hopefully I can fit
  12. how would one go about Tightening these things up? mine has play in the wheels but its not the ball joints/bushings or outer tie rods either. I dont think mine are completely broke, just need to be tightened
  13. I shall call him squishy and he shall be mine. you did ask us to name it, but I think its most likely a discontinued MSA or some other knock off.
  14. yeah, when Im on the highways in montana the car is rarely under 95mph, unless im in a hotspot for highway patrol. In the city, I dont even mess around with driving like an asshat, I save that for track days/auto-x or late night drifting sessions.
  15. I'm not entirely sure if that was english I just read. Welcome to Hybridz, worse than your english teachers. Try using the search function on the top right, and when posting a topic be VERY specific on the problem, you didnt explain what kind of sound, it could be brakes, it could be half shafts.
  16. I have a zx motor/trans in my Z and I get the same loud resonating, but thats because I just have one cherry bomb in the whole exhaust. as for keeping it above 2500, ive never heard of that before, I understand the L series are peppy and enjoy being above 2k but 2.5k seems overkill
  17. lol dont ask not to be flamed, you will be flamed but, frame rails, and floor pans, wheel wells, under the rear end. under the back hatch carpet, basically anywhere you can see with your peepers or a mirror, will be a good place to look. happy buying
  18. I recall looking on MSA and the European stock replacement springs were shorter than the stock US ones, so it could be a possibility that the eibachs are longer than the stock EU springs. I intsalled tokico HP's that had 1.5 coils removed, and it lower the car a little over 2 inches possibly cut a coil off?
  19. wow, never trust a machinist. we talked before, he said he could do it in under an hour, and low and behold, i show up to pick them up and they somehow took him 2 hours, and he wants $160. what a joke. Ive done a set on a drill press at my old shop in under 20 minutes, and it somehow took him two hours, I can understand holding them down with tires on could be a pain in the ass, but still, you could atleast call and confirm that it will take more than an hour to complete them, but apparently costco had a sale on machinist degrees last fall.
  20. to a couple things ive read in this thread. I removed my bumpers, and yes the car raised up because of the weight loss I have cut tokico HP springs, and the rates are in the 200 in/lb area, if my memory isnt lost. at the airforce base, I hit 133 on a speed trap on a level surface on the launch pad (I literally left brown spots in my seat ) the car felt light, but not like it was going to tip over if I need to do any offensive driving, but I can attribute that to my ride height... (yes my exhaust, is bent by the diff making it extremely low and rusted) I cant wait to get an airdam set up on my car, Im thinking MSA type 3, because I dont really want to keep any front bumper. and from other threads discussed, a rear spoiler can do miles for your traction.
