Hello. Trying to find a Rb20det oil pan and pickup from a z31 200zr. Was hoping that maybe someone overseas could help a brotha out. I have tried a couple of sources with no luck yet. If someone can point me in the right direction or has one they want to part with I would appreciate it. Trying to put the RB25 in my z in the next few weeks but gotta have an oil pan first. Thanks, JT

Kinda looks like a compomotive wheel. JT -
I am doing the same thing but here is what I am doing. I saved the plugs from my old gauges. I am going to wire these plugs into the autometer gauges where they will plug in like stock to the factory harness to get power and ground. This seems like the best and cleanest way to do it to me. JT

Tial is a good gate. From what I have heard, pretty much anything but deltagates are decent. I had good luck with mine but I have heard alot of bad about them. I have a tial 38mm for sale if you are interested. It is basically brand new, has maybe 1000 miles on it. Used it on an old turbo toyota pickup I sold recently. I also will be selling a large greddy or a 60mm HKS soon, depending on which one I decide to use myself. JT

I have one suggestion for the stickers. Make them where only the letters stick to the glass rather than the whole sticker. I have one of the old stickers on my hatch and it just doesn't look all that great. It looks real coudy where-as a sticker where only the letters stick looks clean. Just an idea. JT

Thanks for the compliments. Vintage-TechZ : Ahh, so you're the one that raised the price for me, huh? j/k Yeah, it's the same one. I'm not sure about using the wastegate yet. I have 3 sitting here, 2 are going to get sold as soon as I decide which one to use. I have a 38mm tial, the greddy that came with the kit which is pretty big, and a 60mm HKS. The turbo that came with the kit is decent it looks like except the compressor wheel is chipped up a little. I am working it out with the seller to get part of the money back for that reason hopefully. All in all I am very happy with the header. Very nice piece. JT -
Have you thought about the dynomax ultraflo? Great looking and awesome sounding SS muffler. Here is a place I found a while back that I bought my second one from. They had it in stock and I got it quick. The webpage shows the dimentions of all the mufflers so you can pick the one you need...I use the 17268....fits nicely on the z. http://www.a-1performance.com/ultra_flo/mufflers/ultra_flo_mufflers_page3.htm Hope this helps. Speaking of 18's....pic of 350z wheels on my z
J Taylor replied to J Taylor's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Thanks for the compliments. The wheels are 18x8 with a 30 offset all around. The wheels I normally run are 18x8 +20 in back and +40 in front with a small spacer. I was really suprised at how well these 350z wheels fit. Looks almost like they were made for the 280z. My friend is trying to get a set of the 18" Volk wheels from a 350z to see how they look as well. If I can get my hande on some of the G35 wheels I would like to try them too. The brakes on my car are the normal z31 disc/toyota caliper in front and it has conquest discs in the rear. JT -
Anyone Running 18's???
J Taylor replied to TomsCoupe's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I dunno, I've always liked how my car looks with 18's. Never heard anyone say they are ricy at all. -
Pretty sure a longblock isn't going to weigh anywhere close to 700lbs...especially not including the manifolds and turbo. ALso, keep in mind the auction says he got it from an auction and "believes" it has never been driven. Did he mention why he believes a car that old bought from an auction would have a new, never driven with motor in it? If his compression test is right it is way low as well. Just wanted to throw that out there. JT

SPD aftermarket L28 Turbo header PICS!
J Taylor replied to 240Z Turbo's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
J: They do not make them anymore but I will be selling mine as soon as I get it back from them which should be soon. It has never been used and will be at a discounted price from what I paid. Shoot me an email if you are interested. JT -
I can't wait to catch a srt-10 on the street in the lightning. 22" wheels, 6spd, and 500hp just can't do much but spin. I'm afraid it will be the Dodge's ass. LOL. Good looking trucks though. JT

Nissan SR20DET motor sets.. if anyone is intrested
J Taylor replied to cyris3d's topic in Nissan 4 Cyl Forum
Yep, same guy. Have you gotten your motor yet? If so, is everything ok with it? Since he is only about an hour from me I was going to just go pick it up once we worked out a deal until he informed me he doesn't actually have the motors in his posession. I guess he gets them drop shipped from wherever he gets them from. I've been trying to get him on the phone to figure something out b/c he only seems to pick out the questions he wants to answer on email. JT -
Nissan SR20DET motor sets.. if anyone is intrested
J Taylor replied to cyris3d's topic in Nissan 4 Cyl Forum
Cyris: Just curious. Where are you getting these motors from? I have been talking to a guy about an hour from me about buying a RB26 and the pics he is using are the same ones you posted above. I am leary as it is b/c of some contradicting info in the emails from him and the fact that I can't get anyone on the phone even though they supposedly have several employees. If you could tell me where you got your motor from I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, JT -
I think i have problem with my Arp head studs
J Taylor replied to Ivan280zt's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Ivan, On the toyota pickup I had the same thing happen. I took 2 nuts and tightened them against each other on the stud and screwed them down a bit. I asked a machine shop here in town about it and they said they tell you to put them hand tight to make sure they don't bottom out. JT -
A "view all" would be great....listed my date. Personally I think the new classifieds kinda suck. If you just want to browse through them and see what's for sale it's a real pain to go through every category. If there was a way to view them all at once for those that so please it would be awesome. JT

Awesome!....as long as you don't mind reaching back into the hatch when you want to shift! Actually, it doesn't look like it'd be that difficult to shorten the shifter linkage and move it up a ways but not sure it's worth it for a tranny that doesn't even bolt up and may not be as strong as the rb tranny. I dunno. Looks cool though and definately a nice price. JT

The ones that are worth mentioniong: 78 280z 99 Lightning 87 Nissan Pickup (beater work truck) 72 510 wagon (about to be a parts car I guess) Picking up a 70 510 wagon that is set up for a vg30et to be dropped in next weekend. Several other assorted z parts cars. Oh yeah, Craftsman LT1000 Riding lawnmower JT

My only experience with a zx7r is running my buddy's down on the interstate in 5th gear in the z. We went from a 3rd gear kick.....he pulled a few bikes on me in 3rd, stopped pulling when I hit 4th, then I started realing him in in 5th. Got to his back tire before we shut it down. He had a passenger which slowed him down a bit but still fun nonetheless (although stupid with him having a passenger and me on drag radials with 20psi!). JT

I have this motor sitting around from my 510 wagon. If I ever do anything with this car it wont be with this motor in it for sure. Don't really know what to do with it but the peanut heads seem to bring decent money. ANyone know how to ID a peanut head? I don't see any castings on it like the z heads. Thanks, JT
