No thanks on the carbon fiber. Aluminum is the way to go. Unless of course you have lots of free time or lots of money to pay someone to do it.... i have neither :> and to answer my own question that never did the answered.......Here are the specs that i came up with as what to use for intercooler pipe. Aluminum Tube - 6061-T6, 16 Gauge .... 16 gage is .0625 ( 1/16th ) I ordered some aluminum and a 3 exhaust builders kit from the above link ... columbia river mandrel bends. I will let you all know what i get

Well if you read thru the So you wanna swap bla bla bla you will notice that if you mount the rb series motor using the z31 rb mounts (available from Japan) that the driveshaft will bolt right up. Only thing you have to do is swap the diff flange. If you are doing the swap and you have not read thru all the stickies in the forum you need to, there is alot of good info and rumors that are confirmed and debunked!!!!!

aluminum is alot lighter and transfers heat alot better.

Hey guys i searched and got too many threads to dig thru so i thought i would just ask What size (wall thickness) and what type of aluminum pipe do i need to use to make my intercooler piping. i ordered up so stuff that was supposed to be intercooler pipe but it was really thin walled and had a coating on it to make it look polished, So i imagine it would be a bitch to weld. Any links would be appreciated... weeding thru all the hits in google for universal intercooler piping sux!!!!

I was there for 11 years total 87-92 then 95-01 I brought back my rb26 260z (us spec) I'm due for an assignment next year... pushing to come back and retire there. Back on subject. If I were to buy a ken mary or hakosuka I would go shopping in Australia. Much cheaper there even after shipping!!!

Not sure where the steering issue came from but it is not an issue at all. You have to make you own mounts and your own downpipe there are no bolt ons

Neither is a drop in /easy fit. Both take lots of fabrication and lots of money. Both are talked about extensively on this forum Please look around. My opinion if i had to do it again would be 2jz but the parts availablility for the rb is getting better

I may be mistaken but i think that video is almost 10 years old.

I spent 2 summers trying to get into the 10s but kept breaking rearend parts. Yes CVs lead to broken stubs. even z31 stubs arent good enough. An auto is alot less hard on the stock stuff but will still eventually tear stuff up. If you want to be safe and reliable convert to a solid rearend end.

The front clip im using is red. It is a race car but will be used on the street. There is a new company up here that is doing the vinyle thing. I was actually thinking about going that route instead of paint because it seemed easier. I really like the first one with the red front clip!!!!!!!! Thanks.

I played all last night and figured out evertyhing. getting rid of the checkerboard is pretty much impossible. (well for me)

I read that before.... i have a feeling that i cant get rid of the checkerboard very easily without it looking like a 2 d picture. oh well

Ok here are a couple of pics of the Z. thrying to figure out how it will be painted when its done. The top one is it currently the bottom one is a very crude paintshop hack of the pic. I was wondering if there are any photoshop pros here that would take a wack at combining the black and red without using the checkerboard in the paint scheme. I would really like to see a quality photoshop of the way i tried to do it first then maybe something with real flames covering the white and black.

Any pictures???? Someone outbid me!!!! 51.00 bux!!!!! are these really that valuable considering you can build one for less then 20???

Well i figured it would happen soon.... I need one. we were reviewing the SD for the Vpro engine harness and it seems to require a resistor. easiest way will to use the stock rb26 resistor. Does anyone know where it is installed on the gtr?? Engine harness or body harness?? And last but not least does anyone have one they can let go???

Well all the welding is done now all that is left is fuel tank, exhaust intercooler piping, and electrical.
