  1. Not too up to speed on the r-34 but i thought the r34 had only the rb25????
  2. OOOPPPSSS sorry i guess i didnt notice the several references to the link
  3. Ok guys all posts that had anything to do with the original I told you so thread by bubbles have been deleted. I recommended this thread be brought back from the trash can because it IS really interesting. SOOOOO keep it on subject and any further bashing, I told you it wouldnt work, what a waste of time comments will be deleted AGAIN and any further uncalled for comments will result in that member being banned for a month. So keep it on subject and purely technical, fact based comments. Thanks Stony
  4. Thanks i have been looking fro something like that for a while
  5. BTW those are the badboys i used that are referenced above. you can do them by hand with a big ratchet and wrench just takes a bit longer.
  6. The inserts i used were steel. I also questioned the strength and was assured that they would be as good as anything short of putting a bolt all the way thru the frame rail (see space limitation comment above) As far as the tranny mount goes.... my motor is mounted with a mid plate and the rear tranny mount wont really be holding alot of weight. the inserts are installed in approx 1/8 wall square frame rails. They should be just as good as say bolting them thru the sheetmetal of a stock bodied car. thanks for the heads up. I will keep my eye one them.
  7. Found them in a hardware store today, I'm sure you guys know what they are, if not.... you basically drill a hole for the insert. Use a ratchet and wrench and pull the insert into the hole, kind of like a rivit. So if you are ever trying to figure out how to mount something in a hard to reach or impossible to reach area check them out they work great. I used them today for mounting my tranny mount and loop into the frame rails.
  8. a Z that is tube framed, and how the front clip is attached. The way mine is now is way TOOOO flimsy and in no way safe to run at 140+. I allready have some stuff made up but before i start welding thought I'd ask
  9. AHhh you got me before i googled it :>
  10. Before.....stock RB26 [/img] After..... well lots of stuff
  11. Ok this is weird... i know what it is now but at first glance i see a birdseye view of a dark hair dark skin kid with a white shirt on standing in the grass. Left side of the pic about 2 inches up.... see it???? or is it just me????
  12. I bought this one off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160183277134&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=006 The first one i recieved didnt work but they sent me another pretty quick. Should work pretty good for buffing after paint. email was kind of slow and they dont combine shipping and handling if you get multiple orders!!!
  13. I cut up the old vacuum balance tube to make the mounts. I was only able to use the middle mount but it works fine. Yea the Vpro needs it. Damn skippy. It's gonna be hard not to touch it over the Zmas holidays BUT its a different story for new years :> Oh shoot just remembered i still have to change the timeing belt ( been sitting too long) .... cool i have something to do tomorro :>
  14. Latest pics.... all that is left is the throttle cable, clamp down all the loose plumbing and wiring the engine. Hope to have some video of it running by mid jan. breather/catch can Made a bracket so i could use the stock injector harness case. I think it cleans up the engine SOOOO much versus loose wires.
  15. I guess i will read the whole thread next time ;>
  16. You guys probably already know this but those dynos can actually be programmed to run a full length F-1 race at an actual track using telemetry from a race. So say you want to see if your engine will last an entire race at spa just program it in and run the race. That is bad ass!!!
  17. I bought this motor while i was in japan allready built. But the head was sent to JUN on the mainland if i remember and ported and built there. In japan its real easy to get all that stuff from local speedshops... but im in alaska now ;
  18. Hmmm if i remember correctly all you need to know is if the tranny is a push or pull type clutch. they only engine stamp i know of is the rb26 stamp on the side of the motor. You can bolt up any of the rb26 clutchs to any of the rb26s BUT the difference is in how the slave cylinder operates. So determine whether its a push or pull clutch should be all you need to do.
  19. Looks good... yea your right may be kinda difficult. You need to plug off the breather next to the turbo exhaust. it will occasionallly drip some oil. and if the exhaust is hot enough, will ignite it.
  20. Post some pictures of the engine and the guru's here should be able to identify it
  21. I will be using one soon. Everyone that i know that has used one has not had an issue with the ones you get from ssautochrome.
