  1. You cant really see it the way i took the pics but there is a plate behind where the 3 bars come together and it is welded to the horizontal tube. I will try to get some better pics.
  2. You still might be able to help. i have this thread in the chassis section. beyond the questions i have there i think it's doable http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=123149
  3. The tube was never meant to go thru the firewall. The cage is being built not to go thru into the engine compartment.
  4. Need some advice on my chassis. My main concern is how the cage is attached to the body and if there need to be any more attach points. First question is on how the cage attaches to the from firewall. Right now it is only tacked. I'm not sure if there were going to be more tubing added.... My question is in this picture is just finishing the weld abound the tube to the firewall good structurally??? it is identical on both sides. myt biggest concern is how teh frame rails just kind of hang there not connected to anything. here is a pic. any suggestions are welcome. I was thinking that somehow the floor pan and frame rail should be connected to the cage somehow.
  5. With the help of some zip ties !!!!
  6. what's everyone think about the overfenders???? like thats all i have to worry about :>

  10. Hey guys need some help with rounding up every post I have ever posted here. I have pulled my car out of the shop unfinished. I know I posted almost the exact day it went into the shop but I cant find it. Did we archive any portion of the sight say 2+ years ago? I have looked though all the post started by myself and have saved and printed everything out. Is there a way to search archive or stuff that isnt directly linked to what we see in the forums? If so can you help me out and post links to posts I have made stating completion dates and when the car was actuall dropped off at the shop. Most of you can kind of figure where this is going. Thanks Stony
  11. One of the reason i went with a solid rearend was to eliminate the weak link ( rearend) No matter how you build it the stub will still only be 27 spline. Thats fine for a car thats in the 350hp mid to low 11 sec time frame. But it will break eventually. One day the track will be especially sticky or something and it will hook extra hard welll you know. I agree with ross it looks like it probably was ready to go before you did the burnout. it looked exactly like my stock 300z stubs did ( the break that is) when i broke 2 set of those :> I think the only way to make them last longer is to run an automatic. Clutch drops are just to harsh!!! Anyways. I like the idea of a bigger diameter stub shaft. In my attempt at a stonger rearend i machined the housing to accept bigger bearings. I think if there was a compatable bearing that would fit in the housing and also hold a 31 spline stub that would be the way to go. Not bashing the stubs in fact i commend the effort that was put forth to make them. good job keep up teh good work.
  12. I sleeper dosnt have to be loud and sound like a aPOS!!!! Any motor with a big turbo and exhaust can be very quite. A sleeper is more of a car that would drive by you and you wouldnt even realize it was anything more then a family car.
  13. I have the AZC arms ( 1st generation) they a good units but be prepared fro a harsh ride. They are solid mount and have no bushings what so ever.
  14. Thats awesome how'd you do that?
