  1. Yes, you are right about watching what happens but from what John`s artical says " From about ten miles an hour and up, the flow actually reverses due to a high pressure area that forms at the base of the windshield " So, that doesn`t answer my ?`s.
  2. So I was looking at the new hood vents John Washington is making(Very Nice), and read this. . . "From about ten miles an hour and up, the flow actually reverses due to a high pressure area that forms at the base of the windshield (which is why the cockpit ventilation intakes were put there). This provides a stream of cool, outside air flowing down across all the vital engine parts previously mentioned, and out through the bottom of the engine bay (with assistance from high velocity, low pressure airflow under the car...Bernoulli effect)." So, does air get sucked in a cowl induction hood as well ? So does the same effect happen with the standard 280Z hood vents ? Does the air get sucked in when the MPH`s increase ? What about the air entering the engine compartment from the radiator opening at speed, does this not counteract the air trying to come in from the hood vents ? I have a vented 280Z hood and DON`T want air to be sucked in at speed but for the air to be sucked OUT of the engine compartment at speed . What would need to done to make this happen ? Would some kind of little lip in front of the vents change the way the air flows over the(stock)vents. I also made some inspection lid vents, is air being sucked in at these vents also ?
  3. This is about the 19 year old Army girl that was rescued . http://www.defendamerica.mil/articles/apr2003/a040303d.html

  5. WOW ! I just bought a rear spoiler from this guy . He sent me some pics(that showed his garage)and alot of Z`s in it. All of them that I saw were SUPER clean ! Super nice guy and good to deal with.
  6. Come on Dan, What about us folks who can`t make it to the show ? ? ? I`m going to guess(and maybe start something) Is it a g-nose of some sort ? Maybe a cool new rear spoiler ?
  7. That one was a little much for me! Kinda SCAREY. . . . . . . .
  8. 93 octane Amoco $ 1.76 at it`s highest here. Sorry, I had to do it . . .
  9. I use Carbotech Panther plus compound frt & rear and like them very much. I changed from Porterfield R4 compound. These are the only 2 makers & compounds I`ve used. But, with the same braking system I like the Carbotechs over the Porterfields. (for track events)
  10. Having both a 4 lug & a 5 lug hub in hand, It looks like the 5 lug(wheel mounting suface)will be about 3/4 to 1" further out. * This is a visual, no actual measurements were taken.
  11. Thanks for that link Jamie. I saw what you were talking about Sweet !

  13. Only when I`ve been able to drill thru stud, soak with Kroil and get some good solid hits on the stud to loosen it up.
  14. Some pretty powerful images! All of our thoughts and prayers should be with the men and women there(and other areas of conflict)doing what they are doing, so we can do what we do here.
  15. If you can, drill all the way thru the piece of bolt left in block. Try an find some penitating oil called KROIL , use it and let it sit and soak in, use a solid punch and SQUARELY hit top of broken bolt to try and loosen piece of bolt. (WEAR SAFETY GLASSES) Reapply KROIL and repete process. With good drill bits you should be able to drill thru stud. Take your time and try to drill dead center of bolt. Drill as big of a hole that u can, then try an easy out. (NOT A CHEAP ONE)
  16. That`s a cool setup but, The Guy`s Not Wearing A Helmet ? ? ?
  17. MSA sells a mirror set that mount kike you are talking about. Page 24 (at the bottom right) of the new catalog. Also, ck out Pete`s site. He did a install of I think Toyota Tercel mirror`s.
  18. esyip, check your states inspection laws In Virginia, reverse lites are not required for state inspection. Don`t know what the recourse would be if you had a fender bender and the related issues along with that. I don`t use my car much for street duty. I wanted MORE brake lites for folks behind me to see. Plus, my car is registered as an antique so it doesn`t have to be inspected anyway.
  19. esyip, Ck with your state inspection person, reverse lites may not be required to pass a state inspection. In Virginia reverse lites are not required to pass a state inspection. On my 260, I moved my turn signal lites to where the reverse lites were and used amber bulbs. Then where the turn signals use to be I added another brake lite bulb to increase the brake lites. I wanted to add a 3rd brake lite (and still might) so dumb a$$es (I mean other drivers) would see more brake lites shining at them. Take a look at the rear pic and you can get the idea. http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/valubes/lst?.dir=/74+Z&.view=t
