  1. Feasible... yes. PS... Been asked and answered before. There's tons of threads about engine part combinations... so ya know, feel free to search.
  2. Also check your air regulator... if it's not opening / closing correctly it can cause bad idle. And here is a simple explanation of adjusting the AFM: http://www.geocities.com/jfairladyz/AFMrebuild.html?1144191577198
  3. Have you thought about getting one from a junk yard? Also, you can block it off, but you may have idle problems.
  4. I used to work @ Jerry Seiner Nissan (Bountiful, UT) as a service tech.
  5. Yeah... I love the Hyundai warranty: you change anything on the car, warranty is void. A lot of car makers do that these days, Hyundai is just really really really picky.
  6. You could always call them and ask...
  7. A motor needs 3 things to start: #1... PROPER fuel #2... PROPER spark #3... PROPER air How did you verify that it's getting fuel and spark? Hopefully you drained the gas tank & put some fresh fuel in it....
  8. Check your a/f ratio. Are you sure you wired the Z31T ecu correctly?
  9. You don't cut anything... just yank the efi harness.
  10. So I listed a bunch of computer cds on ebay. I thought it was funny, but it's also midnight & it may not be funny at all in the morning. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110145460073
  11. MAF = Mass Air Flow sensor (aka "hot wire maf). It measures air flow by how much a heated wire is cooled. MAP = Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor (measures the pressure / vac of the manifold). AFM = Air Flow Meter (like LineC said, it uses a flap door connected to a potentiometer to measure air flow). Some SAFC's will work on AFM's, but since most cars these days use a MAF, most SAFC's are programmed to work w/ a MAF.
  12. The car runs better. The Z31 ecu has a better fuel map, and uses a MAF instead of an AFM.
  13. Page 119 of the Haynes manual. If ya don't have a 280zx haynes manual... you need one. It's on the side of the crank pulley below the distributor.
  14. Pretty freaking simple. Just 2 or 3 bolts.
  15. What city are you in? Have you checked out the ZCOU forum? http://www.zclubofutah.com Anyway, the CAS isn't hard to replace & you can prolly find one on ebay for cheap. Let me know where you are... anywhere near Bountiful / Salt Lake, and I could swing by.
  16. The injectors are the major limiting factor. With the upgrade & stock injectors, 260-270hp max @ stock fuel pressure. That would prolly be @ 14-16psi boost tho.
  17. That depends on each state... Here in Utah all cars 70 & newer still have to pass emissions.
  18. Lifegrddude's SAFC install / settings write up: http://zdriver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17290
  19. You can find anything on google... http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_electronics_detail.asp?ID=260 A quick google search will yield a lot of info about it. Apparently it's got quite a bit of mixed reviews.
  20. Do some research... that's what you should do. Read some books. A great starter book is MAXIMUM BOOST by Corky Bell. Read it.
  21. Leads to a cylinder looking condensor unit by the coil. It's to reduce interference. It's not necessary, but should be left alone.
  22. Unless you know how to fab seals, bearings, compressor wheels & housings, etc, you will have to buy a kit.
