  1. I agree, http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ is a great site, I have learned alot about oil from there. PoundZ, good luck with your engine. I'd follow Mike's advice about the inspection before you hurt something. Dale
  2. Nice job Tim! But if it were me, and it will be soon, I would put the oil pressure gauge into the top of the new homemade section and move the fuel gauge up top. That way you have all the same type of gauges together (bottom dial) and the single gauge at the top of the new section can have the center mounted dial. It just looks kinda weird to have a center dial and 2 bottom dials next to it. Dale
  3. I love that guy that goes out of control and drives into a parking lot and hits a car while the owner is watching! I think he about got his ass kicked. Dale
  4. When I pulled my 28000 mile LS1 apart I found a small amount of sludge buildup and some metal shavings (very small amount). I took the heads to a shop to have a valve job done and when I picked them up he said that whoever had it before me didn't change the oil very often. He could tell by the clearance on the valve guides. The cylinder walls looked good and the crank was clean so I decided to get some new S2 heads just because . A 15000 miles you should have a real clean engine if it was cared for properly. There will be wear on the bearings and such and shavings will appear, but they should not be excessive if the oil was changed like it should be and the clearances are correct. You can also send the oil out to be analyzed and get a report of any excessive wear. Here's a place to get your oil analyzed. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/terry.html Dale

    OUCH!!!

What an idiot. Can you imagine the road rash on that girl. I hope her father seriously injured him. Dale
  6. My Corbeau A4 shoulder support hits the window. I could move the seats over a little, but I like being centered. The only solution I see is to cut open the fabric at the support and trim away the padding then sew up the seat. I am going to leave as much of the material as possible, but I think about an inch has to be removed to clear the window. Hopefully I won’t have to cut the support to gain clearance. Any other ideas? Dale
  7. Good Info. Hey, does this belong in another forum? The ford guys will never see it. Dale
  8. Humm, a cucumber Z. I'm green with envy. I say do it. Dale
  9. They must know each other as neither the cat nor the eagle is in an aggressive or defensive posture. The cat is just strolling along and the bird’s pupils are not dilated. Dale
  10. This is a very interesting thread that really shows the tech ability of the folks at Hybridz. I have learned more here in the last 6 months than anywhere else that I can remember. I'm glad you guy's are here to share your knowledge and experience. I just hope I can effectively utilize it to my advantage and possibly share some of mine. Thanks all, Dale
  11. It's been mirrored, just click on the random mirror button. Dale
  12. Looks nice, just one question. What are you using for the emergency brake? Dale
  13. That is so awesome! I cant wait to get mine done. Congrats and have fun! Dale
  14. Hope his employer sued him for damages, I would have.
  15. FYI, by the looks of the picture this could be a 99. Dale
  16. Any girl or woman that likes to race is OK in my book! She's a keeper! Dale
  17. What type of dyno was it? (brand) portable? Dale
  18. Aluminum polishes nicely with a polishing wheel and compound, it just takes a while. Doing a set of valve covers is a labor of love (you best love labor). Consider a shop that specializes in polishing. Dale
  19. I have had crappy brakes since I got the Z in April. I replaced the Wheel cylinders, the Calipers, and the Master Cylinder. Bleed it like a million times and it was still spongy as all get out. Well I finished installing the MSA steel brake lines today and that solved the problem. It was the old hoses all along. Dale
  20. That’s a good move in my opinion. Just look at what has happened to LS1tech.com, it’s been trashed. I hate posting over there for fear of getting slammed for no reason. Talking online should be no different than speaking in person. And for the most part everyone here is respectful of the each other. This site is great, and you guy’s have poured you heart and soul into it, that is obvious. Dale
  21. The ones in this thread are cheaper, and all are new. http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=36202 Dale
  22. Very interesting although I was surprised that it happened @ 2 degrees. I originally thought more like 10 or 20. It makes sense that it propogates so quickly with so many flame fronts. Dale
  23. I always wanted to be a headlight.
