  1. Quickly looking, I say the wat's will, the volk's will need spacers. oops, I think I looked to quick, are both 38 offset? Then they both need spacers. But I'm not to sure on the exacts.
  2. One of the ZOOM club members has eaten 2? trannies on his z32 at the 600hp crank number.
  3. Does it blow any air? Did you test the fuses?
  4. More like search FTW. why was this brought back from the dead?
  5. From my understanding, once you are past the header length, then bigger is better and you can never have to little backpressure for any situation. Of course there is a point of minimal gains from going larger. Where that point is depends on the CFM the engine exhausts. I think most agree that on street driven Z's 2.5" on an N/A is good enough.
  6. TonyD has stated that the ridge at the top of the hatch was for aeroness.
  7. Are you measuring the turbo outlets separately? I'm sure it's my imagination but that front exhaust housing looks funny in that video.
  8. Is he smoking in the red one @5:22. Now, how do I shorten the nose on my Z for that body kit
  9. If the fan is not turning on, there is a little silver relay on the side of the fan housing. Mine was worn, I took it apart ( breaking several wires) re bent and cleaned the contacts, reassembled ( with solder) and volia, A/C fan. I figured it out by pushing on it, that twisted the relay enough that the contacts closed. I've heard others complain about that relay afterwards.
  10. How much money went into this shell? What kinda of money would be dumped into the new shell to make it right? How much to make this shell right? If you're finding it hard to work on the car now, how will you find time to swap parts? Do you have room for two non-running cars for that time? Just some questions to try to help.....
  11. OK, good pads should be enough on the stock brakes as long as they are put in good condition. If new stock parts count under safety, Stock euro springs are better. To get the L2X in to the 12s NA you need good headwork, and supporting mods (intake, fuel).
  12. Just how much of an issue is money?
  13. I remember a sbc 280zx taking a high place in a GRM competition, Granted not easy, and would take a lot of luck. For example, my U-Pull-it sells engines for $150. I'm very close to telling myself the bmw v12 is do able for that kind of money. You should get clear definitions of what will be allowed under "safety". That could account for alot of performance modifactions. I would try for tires, struts, springs, bushings, brakes, maybe headlights?
  14. When he called back was he of better temperment? That would really determine if I went with him. "....When Gary called me back, he said "Alec, I understand I'm competing for your business?".." No s**t, That's how the market works, you better be better than the others in some way. I feel he should at least listen to the entire question before answering. He wouldn't need to bend to my whim, or even explain his answer, just make sure he knows the question and give a straight answer, not the jibberish in your first post. Really, if he's broke how long is he going to stay in business?
  15. I like the ruler, and chair Ooh my, the scissors
  16. Megasquirt it, turbo,(unless cheap SBC are to be found) rustolem paint, dash cap?. These could fit under "saftey" race brake pads, brake flush, tokio struts/ springs, cage (bling), harness( needs new seat to work), bushings. I'd skip the headers, throttle body, unless you have a cam and lots of head work.
  17. Yeah, pretty funny to try and figure out what these people are thinking when they make these descions. They just repealed the scalping laws and then get offended when Hannah Montanna tickets sell out and show up later of $1k a pop. I mean, what did they expect? Maybe we have the same people running both places...
  18. Harbor freight has similar now... #94682
  19. That's him. I was looking on zcar, where he still posts. He knows is dragging that's for sure, just couldn't play nice.
  20. I can't find Norm's posts on how to do this, but if I remember correctly he ran low 20 psi in the tires, med. setting on the rear struts, soft in the front struts, and a short burn out.
  21. Really it doesn't take much of a system to notice the difference of the cables.
  22. Alot of TT mani's don't work on LHD cars. The steering shaft gets in the way.
  23. Nice. I had wondered about something like that.
