  1. I have found what causes my ignition shut off on my car, an 82 280 ZX turbo. Well for some reason, whether it be cold or warm, when the car gets to a certain temperature, I would say about 50-60 degrees ambient, the relay will start to click and I have no ignition, the car shuts off but fuel is till there. If I try to start the car, I will still have spark. Now the first relay in this chain, is the relay under the hood inside that little compartment that is in the fender behind the battery. I have found no shorts, no opens and nothing that would cause this to short, I have used dialetric grease to coat the connections, and sprayed the wires with silicone to no avail. The next relay is inside the car, it is located up under the dash, on the passenger side, it is above the fuse box and up above and behind a area where there are several, leads that connect into a block so to speak. Both relays are 6 prong and are green in color. Now this will not always happen but usually does and its been getting worse lately, once the car is warm, it will be fine till it cools down again. Anyone know what tis is or have a clue as to what Im talking about.?

  4. They are said to raise up to .25 per gallon on the east coast, pratically overnight, the continue to raise and level off to where which is now a 1.89 87 octane will be 2.50 a gallon. Then they will decline after the 4th and labor day holidays. It seems that soon you wont even be able to afford to drive your own car or you will need a second job just to fill the tank. I wonder when it will stop. This is just getting rediculous. Though prices for instance in the UK and such are higher at least theyre taxes are going for the good of the community and country and people. Unlike the states, where you pay more taxes and nothing comes of it.
  5. Another note is that they are not Toyota Mekurs, lol, but if you look I believe at the top of this section there is a sticky of all injectors that swap into the ZXT.
  6. I dont have a problem with my T-5, its done well with me and Ive been to the track quite often, and remember that Jeffp, was putting down over 400 whp before his started to give out. I dont see where all the heart aches are coming from for the T-5, its been good to me
  7. So you have a new turbo would you be interested in selling the old one hehe. You know Im looking for one.
  8. AHAH said the blind man, I now see what your saying lol, I was lost and now Im found, I understand the both of you now. Now if I could only learn how to read those compressor maps I would have it made!! So then to add to this where are the best places to buy a turbo? I was looking on ebay but it seems for what most used turbos sell for I could get a new one. Anyone here deal with anyone suppliers and have good results? Thanks,

Well from what I was told the .70 is on the intake side, the hot side exhaust side was a .60, see this is where I get totally confused with all the numbers and compressor maps for each with the wheels and what not. So if I get you correctly, on the exhaust side I would want a .63, and on the intake side I would want .50 or .60 TO4E with a stage 3 or 5 wheel? Is that correct>?
  10. Im currently running 75/90 Mobil 1 synthetic in my BW T-5, should I not be running that, or should I change it out for the ATF? Which should I use? What brand ATF if that is what is required?
  11. So Yo are you saying that I should look for a T3/T4 and go with the stage III wheel, what sort of compressor should I be looking at, is that .70 a good to go with as is the T04E?
  12. Exactly as said by Slownrusty, you will have some fitment issues, if you have a a msa II aero kit, then you can really hide it well and it doesnt look bad at all. With the stock body front end though, you will have a hard time hiding it in the body.

  14. That really looks great, I wish it could be done with a S130, but to do that in a S130 seems impossible, as it would be nice I really dont see anyway to do a 3 inch from the turbo back in there. I guess us S130 guys will just have to deal withe 2 90* bends.
  15. This is what I was looking at as the price is right and it is currently on sale. The specs are as follows T3/T4OE turbo .60 exhaust housing stage 3 wheel, 54 trim .70 compressor housing Would this be a good upgrade, would it work well with the Nissan engine, or should I look at something a bit different, Im having a hard time understand compressor maps and where the sweet spot is for the effeciancy range of the turbo. Are there any suggestions to what type of turbo I should upgrade to and how to better or more easily understand what the compressor maps are telling me? Thanks for any advice.

  19. Ive been searching this forum and though I see lots of ideas, I havent seen any note of a good set of front pads for the ZX I cant only find EBC green stuff pads at tire rack. It seems they are the only one to carry them from my search. Ive found other places that do, but not for the ZX. Is this the only upgrade for pads to the ZX. I cant even get locally semi metallics and let me tell you the organics are horrible and scary if you are having any fun at all. Anyone know of anywhere else besides the Tire rack? 54 + shipping there. Thanks

  21. OMG that truck is GORGEOUS!!!!!. I love what you done to it, one of the two other Datsuns I have wanted, a 510 and a 620 I believe it is Datsun truck. though yours is a later model, but it looks fantastic.
  22. If you want to do something to your z now, i would do as datsun lover said, put your current motor in good tune till your turbo comes. Then I would go and do upgrades that you will need for your turbo motor, like suspension and getting the chassis in tune. Brakes and lines and hoses.
  23. WOW!!!! Ill say you blew it up, those are great times though with a open end diff, must have been a pretty mean motor and on a budget no less lol, you have to love that. Cant wait to see what happens now with the rebuild.
  24. I must say I like your inginuity(sp?) and your want to make life easier for you and working on your Z. Most definetly though, you want to use something that wont give way without warning like thos bricks At the very least fill them and sure them up with concrete. Be careful and take the suggestions that others have mentioned.
  25. That is a good write up but if your going to use that, you might as well upgrade to the maxima alternator and have 95 amps. Seems the better option.
