  1. I would recommend a sumpbaffel for the pump. Foam won't do what you want. I tried it in my lt-1 car's fuel cell to help with fuel starvation at the pick up and it did nothing. I ended up going the surge tank route. This was with an external pump system.
  2. Clive, When you run the new lines, use the teflon braided line. My lt-1 car always leaves gas fumes in the garage and the ls-1 car does not. The ls-1 car has the teflon line. Both fuel systems are very similar. I used -6 line on both cars for the feed and return line. The ls-1 car is uses a fuel safe cell with an internal pump to aftermarket rails (I liked the look) to regulator to return line. When the engine coughs, the tanks is near empty. I bet a return line would cure the hard start issue. Possibly air in the lines when the fuel runs low and has no where to go with out a return line. (italics not intended)
  3. In NC anything that is 35 years old does not need an inspection of any kind. A late Merry Christmas to you. My 73 became exempt last year.
  4. Rod, I'm just off 85 near the Lowes Motor speedway. Let me know if you need a hand. I've done a couple of these cars and have a few parts laying around.
  5. Rod, where in NC are you? I'm just outside of Charlotte.
  6. Yes you need to get from a 3 to a 4. The way I would do it is to buy a 3/8 inverted flair-24 to a #4 fitting to replace the 3/8-24 to #3 that came with the master cyclinder. That would allow you to take the #4 line straight off the master without an additional fitting.
  7. Funny stuff. but I've got to see a man about a dog now.
  8. 3, the ls1 track car, the lt-1 car and a very nice 240 with no motor or tranny.
  9. Is this for real? Those look like the metal flairs that I think MSA used to sell. Looks like the were installed very well. That WAS a nice looking Z with nice looking paint. I hope you're joking around...................
  10. I understand that. I have this same set up on my Z. I used #3 braided steel line to go from the stock chevy slave to the master. Take the slave with your line attached to the slave and put the line in a bottle of fluid. Start pumping the slave by hand. Eventually you will get the air out. Be patient, it'll happen. Once you don't get anymore air out, install the slave keeping the end of the line above the slave so the fluid doesn't leak into your eyes. Attach this line to the master. You should bleed the master before you attach your line. At the track after an off course excursion that ripped the slave off the tranny, I used the following method. After replacing the slave with one sourced at the local auto parts store, I attached the line and pumped the pedal and forced fluid into the new slave and that was it. No other bleeding was needed. It's still on the car works as it is supposed to and I have not touched it again. I hope this helps you a bit.
  11. I've got a CHevy duramax crew cab. It tows great but if I was buying a truck today to tow my rig, it would be a Dodge with a cummings.
  12. Bench bleed the slave with your line attached to the slave. Mount the slave, bleed the master, attach the line and you should be good. That is how I've done my lt-1 t56 combo when its been apart numerous time. Good luck
  13. I've got one from a 72 with glass. No rust at all. 150 if you want it. I'm just north of Charlotte nc
  14. Lexan is a race car only mod. It is very maintenence intensive and will scratch if you look at it wrong. For a race car, I would reccomend a tear off on the windshield to extend the life of the lexan. I've had a lexan windshield on the track car this year and will be going back to glass. Less work is better. I'll be gaining 15 lbs according to my scale. I'll gladly take the weight for a more durable part. The best way for me to drop weight would be to give up the ice cream. For a street car, It would be out of the question for me. One sweep of the wipers and the lexan would be badly scratched.
  15. It would be a great idea if you were in Japan. As it stands, your business relys on your friend and you would have very little control. Just depends on how good a friend he is.
  16. The going rate seems to be half the cost of the parts plus the cost of the car. Labor is a freebe. Whats that put you at?
