  1. BJ, Do you have a link to this info? I'm having charging issues at high RPM's on the ls-1 z car. It seems like the altermator cuts out at high RPMS. This info would explain that. Thanks
  2. I never ran a return line on my webers.
  3. Start the cord on the lower part of the rubber, right in the middle. Before you start pulling hte cord, have the rubber set over the lip on the windshield frame on the lower part. Make sure the glass is centered left to right. Pull slowly and do a little on one side and then pull the cord to the other side. Work the rubber with your fingers as it pulls in to place. Get the bottom done and slowly move up the sides.
  4. I've done the trim both ways. I did it on the car this time. I find that the gasket moves too much for me to get the trim in place unless it is on the car. If you have done the glass trim and spindle pin you are a real Z guy. Both can be a royal PIA.
  5. I've just finished up the same thing today. I did it just as described. It took about 30 minutes to get the glass in the car and about 3 hours to get the stainless trim in the weather strip. Good luck
  6. I knew the t-56 was 130 plus I just really had no idea that the Z32 carried that heavy a tranny. I'm considering dumping the t-56 that isin my track car to loose a few lbs.
  7. Paul, I had no idea the Z-32 tranny was that heavy. Lifting the t-56 in place was what inspired me to get a tranny jack. That is,after I could stand up straight again.
  8. my vote is for an air bubble in a head. Coolant not circulating and overheating. Is the pcm controlling the fans? Have you checked fuel pressure?
  9. You need a VSS input to the computer. It usually comes from the tranny. TH350 does not have that sensor.
  10. I think you would spend more for an adaptor and clutch set up than you would for a used t-56. I have not seen it done on this forum. I know Austin has done an adaptor plate for the L series datsun motor to the Z32 tranny but that won't help you.
  11. I've got the 4 piston stuff front and rear on my track car. They meet my expectations. Easy install and work very well with the correct pad and proper bias.
  12. Do the ducting first and try it. Save the fan shroud for last. It may save you some time.
  13. I would not put a shroud on the front of the radiator. The fans are only working to cool the car at low speeds. At highway speeds its the air flow the cools the car. As far as shroud from IC to front and IC to radiator, anything you can do to move the air thru the radiator and not around it will be advantagous
  14. Charlie, I'm near Charoltte also. If the car runs, I'd buy it for a daily driver. Got a link? I'm not sure what the parts go for but the crank is the piece most Z guys want. MArk
  15. It's the wiring. You can run your jump wire from the relay power out to the fuel pump and check the relay but my money is on the wiring.
  16. It sounds like you are on the right track. Follow Bart's advice.

    Aluminum Dash

Looks great. You have a marketable piece.
  18. Check the voltage at the pump and cut the filter open. Post what you find.
  19. How do you have it wired? Are you using the 35 yr old datsun wiring harness?
  20. I like em. How is your seating position now? Do you need the extra room that mounting them on the floor would give?
  21. How hot is hot? Are you using the stock gauge?
