  1. Jalapidated! Big Phil, the wordsmith.
  2. Or you could modify the floor and create an access panel. This would greatly reduce the work if you need to service the pump in the future.
  3. Very nice! Gated shifter, radiused window frames, not your average conversion!
  4. Don't sweat, Mike Knell is a top notch guy. You will get your parts. Give the guy a few extra days to enjoy his holidays. EDIT, ONE MINUTE LATER: See, there you go.
  5. The stainless steel trim piece at the bottom of the window comes off and that tab is glued downand then the trim goes back on over top.
  6. I think just as much consideration (maybe more) should be made to how modifications to the suspension can cause twisting of the uni-body. Stiff springs and anti-roll bars coupled with hard bushings can put a lot more strain on the car than big bags of housepower on soft motor mounts. With the wheels mounted at the four corners of the car they have a leverage advantage. Either way I would follow johnc's list. Saves a lot of future headaches. Take it from a guy who put the cart before the horse and had to deal with the headaches.
  7. Dude, Nevada! I mean, you can drink, gamble, "spend time" with a prostitute all while driving. But you can't convert your car to RHD? Dude, you live in NEVADA! It's not like you live in California.
  8. SHHH! If anybody asks tell them it was like that when you bought it. If they have a problem tell them it's not your fault they missed it with the previous owner. Dude, I just noticed you live in Nevada. Do you even have to register cars in Nevada?
  9. Don't short change the man John. Top flight shocks alone won't make "a still stock 76 280" into a modern supercar. This is only after bushings, springs, camber plates, adjustable LCA's and TC rods, strut tower braces, maybe some chassis stiffening, ball joints, etc. Did I mention tires and wheels might have a factor as well? I'm poking the bear. Read John's posts from the last few years and you'll get a fairly complete education on transforming the lowly S30's handling.
  10. I've seen these used in sand rails too. I think there are kits out there to convert to north-south transmissions for rear wheel drive. It's been kicked around on this site for years now but I'm pretty sure no one has bit yet. The motors are impressive, smooth and cool to look at, but it comes down to the cost-to-horse power ratio.
  11. Don't know about "factory", but speaking as a guy who actually installed a few aftermarket cruise controls in the seventies, there were a couple of nice kits that attached very cleanly and professionally to the turn signal stalk and looked and worked like factory units did of that time. Certainly could be one of those.
  12. Same here. Perfect condition, Reaction Research vents, cash only, pick-up only, California.
  13. Looks like the ad is gone. PM me and I can dig up an email for you.
  14. Wild. That is the 940Z fender kit with a SubtleZ hood. Maybe the Origen spyder rear cap too. And the 280yz airdam. All RR glass.
  15. Molded the doors shut? We all want to see pictures of that! If you're carefull you could cut the fender kit off and make it presentable for sale.
  16. www.millsupply.com has all parts for step vans. They will have a unit that will work for you. But a really cool solution would be to use a mono-arm wiper system from a junk yard Mercedes.
  17. You can buy a Tomahawk Z dash cap. Rory has resurfaced on ebay and is selling kits in the kit car and Z car sections. I'm sure he would sell dash caps. Not really modern but different and easy to install. Here is a link to a page with a picture of one on my car. http://www.reactionresearch.com/280yz/danjuday/KCB13P29.pdf Also, John Washington sells 250 GTO style dashboards. Check out pictures of the Velo Rossa to get a look. He now has these available for the S130 as well.
  18. They got something that will mow your lawn. Mow it good it will.
  19. Or, dare I say, a GM 3800 SC for like dirt cheap? Really guys, some swaps just don't make sence. Like John says, buy the GTR. A guy in a garge just doesn't have the resources that Nissan has. Those motors are for guys with GTR's that have blown their original mills and are out of warranty. Wait five or ten years and then maybe we can talk swap.
  20. Wow, just discounted fifty grand! Come on guys, where are you going to get a deal like that?
  21. I second the need for a shroud. You will move a lot more air through a lot more of the radiator that way. Even if you only have an inch of space it will make a big difference. Having the fan blades so close to the fins causes a lot of turbulance that reduces actual airflow.
  22. But it's #1! Yeah, still a bit steep. Really though guys, what price would you put on your Z if the wife forced you to put it on the block?
  23. I don't know. I use polyurathan all the time in my work. When dry the consistancy is very similar to the rubber gasket material. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I have a perfect windshield and gasket. If I do need to replace either in the future I'm going to try it.
  24. Right now a pair of guys are installing a new windshield in my service van, an 05 Chevy Express. I asked the boss (the owner of the small company) if it's posible to install the S30 windshield like the new cars with a bed of urathane and the plastic "T" trim molding. He said as long as the glass is larger than the pinch-weld it's no problem. He even has molding that is up to two inches wide. The black boarder on new windshields in called the "frit". He says that he can paint that on before installing the new glass to leave a nice clean finished edge so you don't see the glue. Just thought I would pass that on as I've seen the question come up before.
