  1. Doing Good Gabe! Optional mountin the battery in there?
  2. I'm running camber plates. No rubber isolators etc. The ride quality is fine imo. The differnece before and after is barely noticeable. Not really an issue.
  3. 200 mph with that open front nose. YEA RIGHT! Hot car though and I bet it is very fast indeed. If it was set up to run 2 bills it would no longer have much Zcar left in it. With lots o' space coke maybe my car will get faster too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhTKuZ5S_oA
  4. Street car. No flares. Lowered 1.75 inches. All wheels 17x7 x 4.5 backspace. No spacer bs. Tires 225/45z/r17. Coilovers. Hmmmm could maybe do 8's on the rear with a different offset. For me, I have found with sticky tires (non DOT) traction is not much of an issue. Breaking or twisting up something else is. Any wider to me appears to be difficult without fender lip rolling etc. Fine for a race car, kind of disgrace on a street car with quality bodywork. Maybe with enough testing, time and money anything is possible. I have yet to see anyone here on hybridz fully document that combination with an oem body. Less we give away our secrets, every ride and driver is different so maybe that is impossible to replicate. Everyone talks about stuffing the biggest tire they can under the car, but what good is that if you compromise your suspension adjustments. Adjust the car to fit the tires? Having ideal suspension geometry and room to adjust it is more performance benifical. But hey big tires get all the pussy right? Or at least thats what we want to think... A smaller wheel combo is less unsprung weight too. Better mpg and ride quality. ( ok i wish i had huge tire and wheels, not showing pics cause my rims are aesthetically outdated lol!) EDIT:! opps this the ZX forum. Sorry for posting in the wrong thread.
  5. Autopower 4 point bolt in rear passenger tube. Works for me. Seriously people in Minnesota ask me if it's a nitrous can, i laugh. Even the cops did last week! And yo I was set free. The competition never knows what's running in the tint side window...Ok no more secrets. lol
  6. Nice car! And a 302, Cool! It looks like the trans ex member is sagging a bit being bolted oem floor. You may want to beef it a bit. http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=11014&size=big&cat=500&ppuser=10889
  7. Fiberglass. Looks really cool though.
  8. I see you live in AZ.... Dave's brake kits are Awesome! http://www.arizonazcar.com/brake.html
  9. Hey Jason here is a thread in which I upgraded to AN style fasteners. Hope this helps. Brian http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=126197
  10. GWAR kicks of your sorry asses! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjXOpQxL5f0&mode=related&search=
  11. Great progress! Keep going man!
  12. Mine don't bottom out using 240z's. Though using MM arms added .200 for track width, but it was fine before that using oem..i think. It's very close. Check your travel. Please someone correct me if I am wrong. The shafts are shortest at full droop. I think all the shafts are the same, and same length. all 240 280.
  13. Wow! Oh my gosh. I say finish it! Who cares about the 'dated' thing. All our Z cars are old anyways lol. If we all kept up with the current girly fashion trends (and there are some bad ones these days, we are just blind to see them yet.) words classic would have little to no meaning. Sure it's 80's design. To this date the 80's is in the nowhere zone. Old... but not old enough. For example. I have an old 89 yamaha FZR1000 red white and blue sportbike. Yea its slow compared to todays bikes and most people called it a cow 10 years ago. Just in the last year or so people are waking up, wow thats retro, old school, don't see those anymore. Wanna sell it? Im like yea, how much? lol! Forget OEM. Hang on to your idea! This ride is totally hybrid unique!
  14. Every case is different.. Acting oblivious to your driving doesn't work. They will nail you every time for being an idiot. My thoughts are don't lie but don't admit full guilt. A very, very delicate balance. Hey it worked right?
  15. I was there a few months ago too. Keep up the effort! It will be worth it. Post a pic or two along the way! Bri
  16. Yup! Busted in the Z. After 2 months on jacks I drove it and she rips! Must have done good job on the DS cause it's smoooth! Ok the story i'll keep it short lol. Drove over to a friends place, big party old friends show off the car etc. Take an old high school friend for ride and fry the tires up the street. A quick lap on the freeway and head back. So about two blocks away flying though some S turns out comes a cop chasing me. He's on my ass, lights, pull over, kill the motor. Asks for DL and ins. Asks do you know the posted limit of speed I say yes 35mph. Then askes how fast i was going, i said maybe 50? He says, you're going to give yourself that much of a cushin? I'm like oh ♥♥♥♥ im done. Asks me if i have full exhaust, Yes. Nitrous, No that's a fire ex. Do you race this this car? I said not yet but im working on it. Seat belt in use. Goes back to his car. Comes back... and lets me go! Said next time I will smear your perfect driving record. I learned my lesson.
  17. Tom, Pics and your input after installing would be way cool!!! Brian
  18. Cable, In your car 250 for the AZC mbar is money very well spent. Just do it, you'll be so glad you did. For god sakes man you have a have 454! Even filling the holes and adding material might be fine but in my opinion the stock mbars still have WAY to much unwanted flex. Whatever front mount you come up with having a more rigid mbar will help it last longer and reduce driveline angle variations under load. Brian
  19. Mine had deflection too. .008 -.015 inches of runout. Rears: We faced the hub face surfaces as AZC recommends and shimmed between hub face and rotor hat using brass shim stock, the best we could achieve was .006. Then ran the car. Braking very smooth. Then to experiement removed the shims and ran the car. Again smooth braking doing multiple stops from 130 heating the brakes etc. Fronts: .008 -.012 inches of runout. Ran it as is. Again no problems at all. Perfect really. After break-in of 300 street miles turned the rotors for kicks. Final runout .006. In my opinion......, Unless your very seriouly racing its really not an issue at all. Before you shim and do all that work bolt it up and just test run the car. It doesn't add up on paper and math but I willing to bet your measured runout just like mine won't be noticed. At least that was my experience. This package is kickass stuff. Brian
  20. Hey Tom I am running oem half shafts. Here is a thread using cv's and the ST bar. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=122913&page=2
  21. How about make an ABS cap. 1/8 ABS profiled to fit, break the rough edges/crown and paint your favorite color. Paint sticks to ABS great. Mount with 3M VHB tape at ACE hardware. Covers the holes, Seals from Water, NO body work and very easy and Cheap. I am on this one soon as my door mirrors are horrible and useless. Good fix untill the doors are repainted.
