It's a bolt in Autopower 4 point bar that we went ahead and welded in.

Wow, I missed the update the other day. The end of this era is just the begining of another. Keep us informed on the new build and your progress. I know you hate to be without a driveable project so I suspect you'll go pretty quickly.

I wondered how long it would take after this weekends conversations but wow this is sooner than I thought.

That's great news Tim. Your car was one of the main reasons why I'm coming out to MSA this year. I can't wait to see it. So currently there is no HybridZ pre show get together?

You could run them inside the rocker panels and get them totally out of the way. It would be a PIA install but would accomplish your goal. I made mine out of 1x3 tubing and put the new floor pans on top of them though. I think the exhaust is going to be what hangs lowest on my car but that is just speculation since I don't have the motor in yet. Here is what mine looks like so far.

So I guess it's official now. Guys, Scottie wants to get something with more modern creature comforts, wiring, no rust and doesn't suck exhaust fumes into the passenger compartment. His Z would fit the bill but would require a lot of time and money. He's talking about an inexpensive vehicle that already fits the bill without requiring a lot of extra work.

A spring compressor is necessary at least for reassembly. It's optional on disassembly according to some people but I don't trust releasing the spring while it's still under compression. I use a spring compressor for disassembly as well just to be safe.

You'll be happy with the Bilsteins and if you have original shocks/struts with 90K on them you'll be like. I'm not sure if you're aware but the front struts on our cars collect water at the top of the strut and rust the top nut very nicely. You can't get to it before you take it off so there is no soaking it prior to disassembly. Just wail on it with an impact and of course if it breaks no big deal because you're putting on new struts. Just thought I would give you a word of warning though.

I autocross and road race my 94 Trans Am so my demands are pretty high but a good set of shocks are worth there weight in gold on our cars. You will notice a huge difference with the Bilsteins. SLP has them for $399 here.

Damn I've autocrossed in the rain and our site gets pretty dirty as well but nothing even close to that. :shock On edt: I just read the photo and realized it's a rallycross so that explains it.

That looks great and I know what a job it is. Just finished mine at the end of December and used 2 1/2" tube steel mated to 1"x3" sub frame connectors.

I'm just a little south of downtown and I'm still working as well. I've got a few more hours to go before I'll be caught up enough to get out of here. I've got a killer week coming up so I'm sure I'll be working late every night but that's why we make the big bucks. A little sarcasm from a salaried guy.

I have them on my Trans Am and it is one of the best investments I've made. I flush the system before every open track event and it's great not to need any help plus it's way faster. I've had them on there a little over a year and no complaints yet.

I managed to slip on some wet pavement catch a wheel in the grass and roll my Explorer one night. The cop gave me a wreckless driving ticket and a failure to use due care ticket. The wreckless driving ticket requires a mandatory court appearance. My attorney got both of them thrown out because there were no witnesses to my driving behavior. If the stupid cop had just given me a careless driving ticket I would have accepted it because I deserved it. Since he tried to nail me hard I ended up getting everything thrown out. I was very lucky.
