  1. I've got an early flight to Los Angeles this Sunday so I can't make it. You guys have fun.
  2. I take it you are talking Sunday, December 4th? If so I can make it and look forward to seeing old faces and meeting new ones.
  3. This subject has been covered quite a bit like the others have indicated but do a search on "undercoating removal" instead of underbody coat and you'll see lots of results. Here is my contribution: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=74543&highlight=undercoating+removal
  4. I know you mentioned struts but that will be the most important thing that you do. The stock struts more than likely won't be up to the task of dampening those new springs. See if you can get a set of Bilstein HD's for it and you won't be sorry. This is from the link Sparky posted.
  5. I played it several times and I think that is what he said too. I always loved standing near people who had no clue about the GNZ and watching their reactions when that thing would leave the starting line like it was shot out of a cannon.
  6. Looks awesome Rick! That thing is going to be sick looking with the new front end and those CCW's.
  7. Wow sounds like a lot of fun and I've actually never seen one on the road. I got to mix it up with an Maserati Coupe during a open track event at Roebling Road and had a blast. I had pointed him by a couple of times on Saturday but on Sunday I was pushing it a little harder and could hang with him. I had been behind him for several laps with him pulling me hard on the straight and then me slowly reeling him in through the twisties. I didn't realize how hard he was pushing it and he spun right in front of me as we were entering turn six. My instructor had been pushing me to hang with him and we were high fiving and laughing as we passed by the Masersati. His personalized tag said "Does 185" btw.
  8. Hop that baby up, throw some wheelie bars on it and see how far you can get it to carry the front tires.
  9. Yes it makes a difference and you still haven't told us a damn thing about your car except that it's a 240. Wow it was a terribly complicated search but I typed in "spring rates" for a search in the suspension forum and came up with this gem six topics down. Took me at least five minutes. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=102442&highlight=spring+rates
  10. Sounds like a flywheel balance issue to me as well. I'm running a Spec aluminum flywheel in my LT1 powered Trans Am and the stock bolts were too short since the aluminum flywheel has a thicker flange. I picked up new bolts and washers from a local machine shop so you may want to do that while you have it apart. I haven't rebuilt a T56 but there is a good write up here.
  11. That sucks Mike but I'm sure it will be worth it once you get it all sorted out.
  12. Bondo is porous even after it is cured. Since you won't be painting the back side the bondo will be exposed to moisture where it has filled the pin holes. Moisture can then get into the bondo and cause rust and/or the paint to blister. I don't think it would happen within a matter of months but it will eventually cause a problem.
  13. I've used both the Hawk HPS and HP+ on the Trans Am and they have great initial cold bite but I'm with Jon & John on the cheapie organic pads. Try them first and if they don't work then step up to a better pad.

    Surprise!

No Sh*t! I bet both drivers had to go clean their shorts after that one. I just wonder how the Viper driver managed to do that.
  15. Give Keystone Automotive a call @ 407-425-7531. They are located on L.B. McLeod between I-4 and Kirkman Rd.

    Roebling Road

Ouch, that sucks Mark! I can see where turn three could very easily uncover an oiling problem. Sorry to hear about your troubles but it sounds like you have a new plan and keep us informed when the new project starts to become a reality.
  17. Looks very nice Scottie and I like the removeable door bar. When are you heading out to OSW with it?
  18. Everyone from Sport Z is always welcome to post here as far as I'm concerned. It's a great magazine and I always look forward to hearing about what's coming up next.
  19. Ooooh, Ooooh I know hook it between two trucks and try to yank it apart! Oh wait that's already been tried, sorry Mat. Obscure thread reference here.

    Roebling Road

I ran with the Chin group a couple of weeks ago at Sebring and had a blast. Great group and you'll get lots of track time. Roebling is a fun track just keep it under control in Turn 9 but you probably already know that.
  21. You can buy the pigtails from GM. I just converted my Trans Am from an auto to a T56 back in December and needed them to wire it up. VSS pigtail (12101899) reverse lockout pigtail (12101857) reverse light pigtail (12085485) I got the part numbers from here.
  22. I'm not sure if I spoke with your Dad or not but I wasn't the one who approached him about passing down the back stretch. I was classed as a novice too since I had never been to Sebring before so we were in the morning classroom session together. I was sitting up front and was the only guy who answered yes when Dr. Chin asked if anyone was running on race rubber. I was thinking about running on 7/30 with them again but I need to get some brake ducts on the car before I go back. They never faded but I melted 3 out of 4 of the front caliper dust boots and wasted a set of Hawk HP+ pads. I've run six time before at Roebling Road and never had any issues but Sebring was over the top on brakes. Lots of fun though.
  23. Hey Ken, I was running Sebring that day as well and was sorry I never caught up with you. I was driving a white 94 Trans Am btw. When I was in the pits I knew every time you were coming from the whine of the supercharger. It looked like you were moving along pretty well. Post up and let us know if you're going to do another track day any time in the future.
  24. Having had the pleasure of seeing your car and Mike Kz's car up close and personal I say don't flair it. Keep your perfect body work and tuck some big tires under the stock 1/4's. Mikes car looks very mean with no flairs and I know yours would too. Just my $0.02 but I think flairs would upset the clean lines and balance of your car.
