  1. Looks great Mike but I'm not sure if that intercooler is quite big enough. Can't wait to see that beast in action, let us know when it is ready for its debut.
  2. I've done six events with the PCA Crown Region at Roebling Road and have soloed with them so I hope to get signed off pretty quickly with Chin. I'm currently driving a 1994 Trans Am and didn't want to try Sebring until I got some better brakes on the car since the stock ones really suck. I also just converted it from an automatic to a six speed back in December so I think myself and the car are finally up for Sebring.
  3. Thanks Clark I'll keep an eye out for Ken. This is my first event with Chin and from what I understand your "traffic" comment is well warranted. I'll have to check out Safe Motorsports for future events.
  4. I love the graphics Clark they look great. You said you're going to Sebring this Saturday for some testing. Let me know of any future events and I may come join you. I'd love to see the car in person since I need some inspiration to get back to work on the Z. I'm running Sebring next Saturday the 14th with the Chin Motorsports group btw.
  5. I'll second that and I realize that you said that you've been doing it but you didn't really give any details. The setup that you've already got on your car is very good and you should concentrate on your driving and figure out where the weak links are and upgrade from there. Have you driven your car on the track yet? I haven't really been following the progress but I didn't think it was on the road yet. I apologize if I'm wrong but if you haven't driven the car yet you shouldn't be thinking about further modifications.
  6. I've got the part #'s for an LT1 so I'm not sure if they changed for the LS1's or not. Reverse lock out 12101857 Reverse lights 12085485 VSS 12101899 (This part # doesn't pull anything up on GMpartsdirect.com any longer)
  7. Wow that is an awesome story and I applaud your efforts as well. Children with cancer just truly rip my heart out and knowing that their are people like yourself out there to bring some joy to their lives is inspiring. Good luck with the cause and I'll be curious to see what your Z is capable of.
  8. Isn't that just a cap & rotor? It's still cheaper than you can buy the cap & rotor kit from GM though.
  9. I've run with the Florida Crown Region PCA at Roebling Road something like 5 times now and their events have all been flawless. There is always some nice eye candy and it's great fun to go out and mix it up with some high dollar machinery. Myself and a couple of friends will be at Roebling with them on April 15th & 16th if any of you guys are interested.
  10. That's it thanks Mike!
  11. Click here for images of my rotisserie. There was a very detailed write up on how to build it but the link is dead and unfortuneatly I didn't back it up. The car is a 260 by the way.
  12. By droping the pan you only change out 3-4 quarts where flushing it will swap out all of the fluid which is something like 12 quarts. In other words when you drop the pan you're only changing out like a 1/4 of the fluid. Now with that said if the tranny has 85,000 on the original fluid I'm not sure I would flush it. All of that fresh fluid and detergents might do more harm than good.
  13. Wow now there's a blast from the past. There used to be one in Orlando many years ago and we hung out there almost every day after school. I had a 71 GTO and spent as much money as a high school kid could afford buying speed stuff from Bobby Watts. If I get over to Lakeland I'll check it out.
  14. Like Tim eluded to this has been covered before. Click here
  15. Schweet!! What car is that going in Mike? I can't wait to see it in action at the SEZS 5 event.
  16. The best way to ship it is in a box via common carrier instead of UPS or Fed-Ex. They offer an oversize service but I suspect a dash will be beyond their limits. The last time I shipped something oversized I used Pilot Air and was very pleased. http://www.pilotair.com/ Hope this helps Mike.
  17. Your a sick man Mike but I guess I'm right there with you because that was very funny!
  18. Sounds like it is going to be fun Mike. I rode in a friends C5 yesterday that's powered by a 427 CI MTI built motor putting down 533 RWHP and that thing is just plain sick. This was during an autocross school and Danny Popp, many time SoloII national champ, was driving it. His driving talent and that much horsepower certainly made for the most fun you can have with your clothes on.
  19. The SLP one is popular with the F-Body crowd since it is lighter and stronger but it's more than the Centerforce one. http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=60036 I just bought a SPEC aluminum flywheel and it was in the $420 range.
  20. I used the 3"x1"x1/8" ones but I replaced my floor pans with 16 gauge sheet metal at the same time. I would think the 16 gauge ones would work just fine but while you're at it why don't you turn them into subframe connectors. Four feet of material won't be enough but it wouldn't be much more work and then you wouldn't have to worry about transfering all of the load to the floor pans. This is what mine looked like when completed.
  21. Wow glad to hear that you are OK and the car isn't hurt badly. I'm sure the Subtle Z kit will look sweet on there. I was riding with a friend a couple of weeks ago during a fun run after an event. He lost it and took out a concrete light pole and a fire hydrant with his Camaro. We were OK but the car is torn up pretty badly.
  22. Wow those look sweet Rick. I would have never thought about changing wheels on your car but I like the new look.
