  1. Oh, nitrous controller, cool. Damn, NOS and boost! Hmmmmmm............................................. I think your a wus, just turn it up to 20% overdriven, add two alky supercharger carbs from C&S specialties, buy some 32x15x15 slicks and wheelie bars, go for broke. Even though you'll be broke by then. Should put it in the 7's for sure!
  2. You'll have to remember that when I went to high school the newest thing we had was the IBM selectric typewriter. A PC cost 8K back then and nobody I knew had one. If you did have one it would only do a few things. When I got my masters I was way behind the 8 ball on software and hardware. The "new" 486 had just come out and it was oh so hot! This too will come in time, lots of good info, good people, enjoy and "shift ".
  3. That's going to be my new movie, so dont' screw with me or else!
  4. I did the same before they did, what no kudo's for me?
  5. Well, the z certainly isn't like the chevy Vega, which I had one that I put a 327 in and managed to pop the windshield out, but the z, from what I understand is prone to damage with high HP levels. I have searched and I have not seen a definitive answer to the question, but certainly I believe that 450HP is probably the threshold.
  6. Personally I like it with the tie, what do you all think? Come on Vote!
  7. You see the little nuclear cloud on the lower left portion of my post window. If you move your mouse over that you'll see it is a radio button of sorts that you can click on and add to my reputation. Now you can't add to your own reputation, but others can. Oddly enough it has levels, and at somepoint you become human and actually have a life, and then further down the road you become larger than life, like Mikelly, then at some way off distant future you become godlike, like ol' SuperDan.
  8. SuperDan is a wirey sly devil in his own right. Lurking amongst the wires, chips and boards of the hybridz server. Some say he has painted stripes like a resistor and letters and numbers like a CMOS chip and capacitors all over his body. Truly a scary sight to someone who may see him in the dim light of the computer room that houses hybridz. But every once in awhile ol' Dan travels the wires into your computer and when he does, he leaves tracks. Now since a creature like ol' dan isn't a small frame kind of guy, the footprints are large and leave deep impressions. They are odorless but not colorless, artfull not mundane, and not to mention humorous. Yup, when I was logged in on a rainy cold night, which was last night. Thunder rolled, the lights flickered and low and behold I had a new avatar. Darn it, ol' SuperDan had struck, the evidence was telling. So there you have it folks, now you know what to look for when ol' Superdan is on the prowl. Well, either that or you can't log in cause you've been banned.
  9. Well, I've got about 12-14K in the boys z, which includes the car, and everything else. Depending on how crazy you get with the engine and what trans you use will have a decidedly big impact on total price. If it's an RB it'll be higher, alot higher. If it's a JYD engine with low miles it'll be cheaper. I think LSX engines would be somewhere in the middle along with high HP engines with lots of goodies, which includes 6cyl engines. Your probably correct, but ponder the fact that what your going to end up with is a rebuilt car that for all intensive purposes is "new" and it's a performance car for $15K or so. So where can you buy that off the showroom floor?!!!!
  10. Supposedly alky and nitrous go toghether like a hand in a glove. The octane rating of alky is supposedly around 150. I saw at one point a nitrous setup for alky that guaranteed a 900HP increase to the wheels or your money back! I can't imagine what engine could stand that much NOS, so it's probably a safe guarantee. Are you planning on going carbs or FI? I would think that MFI would be alot easier to run and tune in your application.
  11. I like that idea, can somebody on here do that? Mabye a z or engineered to be feared on the shirt. Or even a z on the hat.
  12. So, what do you guys think of my new avatar? Somebody thought I needed one, I was too low key, so they thought they'd help me out. Personally, I'd like a matching tie to go with it.
  13. I think that's in the hybridz rules. Might ought to check that out. I think it says you have to be a member for a period of time, so assume your not approved yet. I think it's Number 10.
  14. I think the z frame can handle that HP without much trouble from what I've seen, not like the chevy vega's that would pop the windshield out or crack it.
  15. Well, they are round, dust isn't that round. Those appear to be water spots on the lens that must of been cleaned off.
  16. Well, I don't know what your situation is in the past. A father is one that raises you, a dad is one that made you. Two distinctly different things. I had the best even though I was adopted as an infant. An adoption story that is and has been picture perfect. I really don't care about anything other than what I know to be my father. There is just no point in it and no benefit to me other than what I know. So, If you think it's going to benefit you somehow, great, if not, well, that's for you to decide.
  17. :lmao: How'd you guess, was it the mask? :lmao:
  18. Well, mud raced today, some boys came down from up north, 509" BBC in a rail, flipped it at the end of the pit and ran a 4.24. Dave Wilguess 440 chrysler in a 32 ford coupe 4.60 and 5.10. Jack Koboerna 496" BBC in Datsun P/U with 250shot of NOS 5.99 and 6.30, little ol' me 357" chevy in the '33 dodge 6.90 and 6.80. Guess I'm going to need more motor. Sooooooo, I did some trading this afternoon. The 454 with 2 bolt mains, steel crank, 3/8" rods, TRW 10:1 forged pistons went bye bye. I kept the Brodix heads. Swapped for a .060 over 4 bolt 454 block, 427 steel crank, deep sump BBC pan and a 4 bolt 400 SBC block that's standard. So, I been figuring that I'm going to build a 427 .100 over, 14:1 compression, roller cam, with the Brodix heads, single carb. Those BB2 heads are pretty good, but not that good for Big inch motors so I think I'll stay small and wind it tight, like 8000 or so! So, that's next.
