    Aftermarket heater

This is the Flex a lite heater and plenum.
  2. Aziza z, As a mock up they would be fine, but they would not be a great tire to drive on. Once they wear down they get slippery and jump around were there are separations on the asphalt. As stated they work with the tire monitoring system --If you do not have the system, visually you can not tell if the tire has been punctured unless you check the air pressure. They will work on aftermarket wheels. I had them on my Z06 wheels, then I purchased some BFG KDW II, AAA, flat kit and a low profile jack. Much smoother ride, I will never buy runflats for a vette I own.
  3. Rags, I forgot to PM you this link about EFI live. You may have saw seen it already-the link was from LS1tech.http://www.holdencrazy.com/EFILive/modifiedTunes.php Good Luck Glenn
  4. I like that alot !!!! I am a LS1 swapper, however I have the JTR intake because of what has worked. I do not want to do some "while I am at it" trying to get this swap completed, but I may have to re-visit my intake set-up.
  5. Back in the garage finally !!!! 3 months of football and cheerleading with my kids !!!! Had to go and re-read notes and manuals that came with the guages, chassis harness and the Speartech harness. In the next two weekends I am hoping to get all the electric stuff done so I am can move on to brakes and body. I will put the dash back in the car tomorrow and figure out how I am going to mount the Flex a lite Mojave heater/defroster. Change in bodywork plans; I was going to use rear fiberglass 930 Porsche Turbo Flares (I still have, someone please take them off my hands for a small fee !!!) Instead, I have Justins BAMF ZG flares so I will still be able to use 315/35 -17 or 315/30-18 in the rear. Hopefully, I will be able to get wheels/tires and brakes before I start fitting the ZG flares. Pics. from today motor was dusty and full of spider webs !!!
  6. Engine is kind of dirty. Getting back into the garage.

    Dash wiring

Finally finish the main dash wiring. Autometer guages, Autometer electric dash harness, except oil and engine temp guage.
  8. It worked real well in a friends Jeep, and thats what convince me to go this route(also I pulled all the stock heater/ac stuff out). I have to decide if I am going to mount the heater under the dash or on top of transmission tunnel. I have the dash out of the car now finishing dash wiring, and the heater/plenum is next on the list to mount --I will get some pics up to you.
  9. I have a Flex a Lite Mojave heater. The guys that go hunting and have Jeeps say it is the best aftermarket heater to rettrofit into a Jeep. So, I figured it would work in my car. I also have the plenum to direct warm air to the stock defrost funnels.
  10. I have not seen anything on the market. Some body work and welding is how I did mine.
  11. They are similar to those "Showcar...." I want give him a plug sells. The 240z bumper indentations are there, just as DavyZ pointed out there are the bubble type street flares.
  12. It sounds like you have the crossmember mount for the 240 Z. Post a picture of what you have to be sure. This is what I have -- 1977 280z with a 4L60E LS1/4L60 E from a WS6 Trans Am ( I have another shorter tranny cable linkage if I ever get time to get back in the garage !!!!!). There are two issues I have notice: 1. Having the incorrect mount for year Z and #2 Having to drill holes a bit to modify the 280 crossmsmber to fit the T56 or 4L60E. Hope this helps.
  13. JCI crossmember for 280 z with 4L60 E transmission
  14. JCI crossmember for 280 z with 4L60 E transmission.
  15. I have this picture (I will take some better shots in the morning) 1977 280, 4L60E--The JCI cross member is light blue in picture and mounted between the frame rails.
  16. First, we need to know if you are swapping a LS# into a 240 or 280, (different mounting location for crossmember). Second, do you have a T56 or 4L60E? Finally, did John's car send you the correct transmission mount for your application- 240 Z? 280 Z? I will get over to the garage today and take some pictures of my set-up and hopefully the photos can answer some questions.
  17. Good evening stevechode, I received your pm. This is one of the photos I have of the transmission cross member from Johns Car. I did not used the nutserts that came with the kit. I went to Tractor supply and bought some high grade metric nuts and bolts to mount the crossmember to the frame. By the way, your car is looking fantastic !! I had a fleeting thought to re-do my engine bay !!! I just want to get it done now. I will look for some better angles to give you and idea.
  18. This is a photo of my drive shaft loop and the tranny cross member being used with a 4L60 E in a 77 Z.
  19. Thinking about 240 fiberglass bumpers front and back or shaving the front like the rear. This is "Wild Bill" fun in my zs' thread do not want to hijack !!!.
  20. You have to patch in the pieces. I chose to weld in some steel pieces.
  21. janaka, The covers look great in there, but VinhZXT is correct. Just a suggestion, down the line if you decide to change to color covers, carbon fiber (the look of carbon fiber ) even polish or chrome google any corvette supplier like Eckler's, Mid America -I think Street and performance has them also, just have to spend a bit more.
  22. Quick edit for above post. The size of the glass/lexan of the small guages is 2 5/8 inches.
  23. Home Depot has 8 x12 inch lexan (and bigger) that is clear and about the same thickness as the original Z guage material and the cost is $3.00 plus tax. The guage glass is 2 1/2' across, and it can be cut with door knob cutter or dremel tool.
