Those are ZG flares, and you can get them at Motorsport Auto. Some one correct me if I am wrong? But I read in previous post MSA purchase there ZG flares from Classic Datsun? You can get these from Classic Datsun also. http://classicdatsun.com/. That also goes for the front spoiler as well. You may find a set on Ebay as another option.

What wheels are these?
Dudeboy replied to Icehound's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
The wheels on the yellow Z, use to belong to Majik16106 (Ronin), I was interested in purchasing them and I think it is Z-Gad? who was first in line. They were on Majik16106's Black Z , I think he was working on a Toyota engine swap. The wheels are 17 x 10 in back, I do not remember the front size. They were custom made at Boyd Coddington's before American Racing began making Boyd Wheels. The fronts are 17 x 8 !!! -

Anyone know what kind of ouside rear view mirror this is?
Dudeboy replied to BurnoutZ's topic in Body Kits & Paint
I do not know who the Z belongs to, but if you go to Pete Paraska's site Alteredz.com, he has very detailed instructions on how to attach mirrors in the corner of the window. http://alteredz.com/TercelMirrorMounting.htm -

Dudeboy replied to k3werra's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
akeller, What was your turnaround time on ordering from Team III ? Team III price list http://www.team3wheels.com/ac/ click on LT III sizing and pricing on the left. Those wheels look much better on a Z, than the camaro on the website. -
Got a deal I just can't refuse...
Dudeboy replied to RayG1988's topic in Gen III & IV Chevy V8Z Tech Board
RayG1988, Jags that Run make mounts for the GEN 1 SBC, NOT LS1. JTR has headers and some bit parts for the swap. Johns Car, Inc. make the mounts for LS# swaps for Z. Not to be insulting, but your going to need more money, credit cards, and friendly connections to get the swap done. I am in $14K and still going!!!! Need help,'04 GTO LS1 Motor mount question?
Dudeboy replied to ReefsRocket's topic in Gen III & IV Chevy V8Z Tech Board
To answer your question NO. JTR is good knowledge for motor swapping into a Z particularly a first generation Small block chevy, however JTR does not make mounting kits for LS#motors. They have a radiator, intake hoses, headers, radiator tee maybe a few other parts I can not remember from the top of my head, that are needed parts for the swap. Do a search for Johns Car, Inc. in Texas, they make the mounting hardware for LS#engine/tranny. You have to search, put in "GTO" , "LS2" , "LS1", "Johns Car", " Sandersons". My engine is in, and I still continue to go back read previous post, to make sure I did not miss something. Good luck. -

Taurus Fan toggle switch controlled?
Dudeboy replied to Dudeboy's topic in Gen III & IV Chevy V8Z Tech Board
Thank you. They way my dash/toggle panel is set-up I have the toggle switch right there, also the last time I was at a test and tune, I notice the f-body and corvette guys bypass the computer using the fans and had toggles to control the fans and other accessories, but the fans with LS cars stood out to me. Thanks, Glenn -
I am getting ready to re-wire the whole car, and going through the different threads it seems most LS swaps that utilize the Taurus fans, let the computer control the fan. If my car is going to be 50% street car, 50% track car would it be better to control the fan with on/off toggle switches?

Help Needed On Offset and 4 to 5 Lug conversion
Dudeboy replied to Temujin's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Right now I am not doing coilovers, but I have installed the Tokico springs/struts. Shocks, Springs and bushings will improve the ride quality/performance. Here recently, I have found that Porsche's, some large trucks and some the members here have wheel adapters from 1.5 inches to 4 inches thick, but they are one piece 4 lug to 4 lug, 5 lug to 5 lug and 6 lug to 6 lug adapters. I think Aziza had some problems with his recently, and I have seen a BMW failure on Youtube. But, made with quality, fitted and installed correctly there are no issues. The 4 lug to 5 lug may work well on the street (spirited driving), I would be thinking about my wheel falling off too much, to enjoy the drive !!!!! That car is one my favorites Zs', Those wheels are Weld wheels and they are not in the catalog anymore. I only know of two companies that make a will that is similar to those, Bogart and Kodiak wheels. And yes Made to Order !!! Cost a few bucks but worth it. Finding wheels is actually easy, it really comes down to how much money you are willing to spend. Kinesis, HRE, I-Forge all the stuff I like, two wheels will cost more than I paid for the car. Right now I a leaning towards Complete Custom Wheel and I plan on having a negative 40 to 55 offset on the rear between 11-12 inches wide, the fronts will be neutral to -16 on a 7.5 to 8 inch wheel. 17 inch tires are fairly price right now, but I am looking at some 18 and even 19 inch tires !!! Playing with plus 3-5 wheel calculators. If you find something out there in 4 lug please post. -
Help Needed On Offset and 4 to 5 Lug conversion
Dudeboy replied to Temujin's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I have been looking at my wheel/tire options for quite awhile, and I am glad I did not buy when I had the money to do it. Too many things to consider: 1. Purpose of car 2. Suspension and brake setup 3. Bodywork if needed (flares and what kind). 4. Money--How much do you want to spend. 1. 4 lug x 4.5 is your bolt pattern. Off hand I do not have the stock offset/backspace info, someone will chime in with that info. Have you installed larger brakes? Are you running coilovers or stock set-up with performance spring/strut? Are the flares already installed ? Here is a way to measure backspace based on the rims you already have (hopefully they were within optimum tolerances) ?http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/ccrp_0610_muscle_car_performance_wheels_fitment/index.html 2. I have only seen 4 to 5 lug adapters in a two piece design, it can been done but you have to do your research on the pros and cons. I decided not to do it based on safety concerns, could not get a consensus answer if they should be hubcentric versus lug-centric or to use blue or red Loctite when you install them. Again purpose of car, Show car ? Race car? Street/Race Car -You have to do your research and decide if this is the route you want to go. In my opinion, I do not think two piece 4 lug to 5 lug adapters are safer than having original 5 lug hubs IN MY HONEST OPINION. 3. Two answers to this one. You can build your car around the wheels you are buying, or install your flares, brakes and suspension first, then make your measurements and measure again then go out and buy the wheel/tire combo that clears bodywork ,suspension and brakes. If you underdstand backspace/offset, having coilovers or modifying the spring perches allow for more backspace and positive offset. Are you having wheels built to your specs? Are these ready made or warehouse stock with generic offsets, backspace and lug patterns? If you know you specs and measurements, and come across a good deal you should not pass it up and buy your wheel/tire combo. I want tell you to "search" but I re-read and re-search because of small tid-bits I may have missed just by changing a word or two in my search query. Good Luck -
I do quite a bit of reading and researching, and maybe sometimes scrutinizing to much, but that is me. That is good information to know about Autowire. I came across a thread were a Cobra kit car shop who builds kits for customers, hated the Autowire harness, but loved this I-Squared ( http://www.isqe.com ) then Painless next. The car shows I have been to locally, when I have asked car owners/builders about harnesses, Russ Francis comes up, Autowire and then Painless in that order. The 60's -70's hot rod guys are not to crazy about I-Squared ? The fear of fire, researching and health issue has delayed me getting this done. But, I have grasp of car electric in theory, hope to be getting it done in the next week or so.

I had been doing as much as possible on my swap to delay installing my harness and debating having it done versus doing it myself. (Warren is going to help me !!!!!) But, I bought the Summit Harness because of the discounts and I got a good deal. After researching and asking what others used I found that the type of car, purpose of car and installer experience determined what harness was used. There's Painless, EZwire, Rebel Wire, Summit and Autowire and a few others. Most do not provide the ground wire in there kits,so bring your ground wire but Rebel wire and Autowire sell grounding kits (Autowire has a very nice grounding kit) but, all will work. Whatever, you choose 1. Get the factory manual for your car 2. Do not throw anything away 3. Read the instructions and read them again. I have a learned alot from the guys building Factory Fives and other kit cars, so as soon as I am back on feet I am getting this done. 240Z2NV, I am doing LS1 swap as well, If I were to do this again I would buy a Autowire Cobra Kit Harness with a GM switch, it has everything to do the complete wiring job. Like I indicated I got a deal on my Summit Harness, I bought ground wire, weatherpack connectors, relays and circuit breakers. By the time I did all this I could have bought the Autowire Kit and broke even.
