  1. 240Z2NV, Don't give up yet!!!! I am not expert electrician, but I am starting part 2 of my electric work. I wired my guages (Autometer) with Painless guage harness (I know !!!!) with dash out of the car. I have a Summit chassis harness, and then the LS1 harness and have a plan of attack this weekend. I have this little book http://www.speedwaymotors.com/How-To-Wire-Your-Street-Rod-Book,2824.html and The Automotive Electrical Handbook. Another thing I did was just read the instruction manuals from the Painless website:http://www.painlessperformance.com/manuals.php - The only thing different from the instructions that I am doing is utilizing GM WeatherPack connectors. Also check out American Autowire tech headquarters http://www.americanautowire.com/faq/?page_id=223. I could build harness now with all this stuff I have read and bookmark, it was just easier to buy a harness, but use the info as a blueprint to build your harness, ie, wire guages for each circuit, what relays, what works on ignition on versus accessory. Good Luck
  2. I have a few good pics in my members gallery. The members pictures that help me alot were DaleMX, 1tuffZ and M1noel's cardomain page. D-Day for wiring my project and pushing the start button is April,18,19 -20 !!!! My nephew has shot quite a few photos, shoot me a pm if you are looking for something specific.

    My dream car.
  5. I am in the process of wiring my car now, and I have the Flex a lite heater as well. I am trying to decide how I will mount it under the dash. I have flipped it over on both sides, and have found that one way of mounting will allow you to run your water hoses direct through the stock heater hose location with firewall grommets. The only issue is the defroster cover only has a hole on one side to connect a defrost hose, so I am searching for "y" ducting or a flexible "T" ducting. I have nothing written in stone, so I want to see how you do yours.
  6. Go to this link and check out the Common Snapper Z. This car is running 18 inch wheels, the specs are in the second link at the bottom of the page. http://www.commonsnapper.com/newsite/top/feature/z30.html http://www.auto-otaku.com/home/2007/11/japanese-pro-to.html I think most go with 17 inch wheels because of the selection and prices of wheel and tire combinations. I would have went with a 18 inch wheel, if I could have found a reasonably price tire 315/30-18( for the rear). Also, you have to take in consideration the tire aspect ratio.. 40 series, 35 series or 30. A 315 /30 -18 is a smaller diameter/ratio than a 315/35-17 tire. If I had deep pockets, I would have put 19 inch wheels with 315/25- 19 on the rear, ....take your Z outside of the box.
  7. My daily driver (98 4Runner family/home depot/lowes/car parts hauler) is getting up there in miles, and I have been looking at Jeep Srt 8s and the SS Blazers. I am trying to justify financing one or the other $$!. I saw a Jeep SRT 8 that was lowered and it look very nice.
  8. I think he is in a Vette Z06 now posting on corvette forum.
  9. Went through my receipts and found the adapters. Someone here posted this link http://www.autobarn.net/eqoilpreselt.html Nice sleeper look by the way.
  10. Boze/ZE Forge Pro Touring wheels 17 x 11 with 4.5 inch backspace for the rear. 17 x 9.5 with 4.5 inch backspace for the front.
  11. I have a rear set of fiberglass Porsche 930 Turbo Flares I had planned on using. But, when Justin started making the wide ZG flares I bought a set of those for a easier install. I need an experience fiberglass man and a lot of money to install the Porsche flares. The wheels were $1900.00 + shipping to Georgia $130.00.

  12. what widebody kit are you gonna run? I'm looking at getting a YZ kit myself, how much were those wheels per?

  13. Speaking from experience ! I love my C5, and would love to jump into a C6 ZO6, my Z (this is my second Z) is my escape from work, stress and all that is going on in the world. I have been upset because it has been cold and I have been working long hours, so I do not get over to my dad's garage to work on my car. If you get a vette as a daily driver, I advise you not modify it. The more you do, the more you will be concern were you park, going into drive ways and on..... My C5 is a garage queen, it gets driven on the weekend and occasional track days. If I ever finish the Z, the vette may not see the light of day, unless my wife drives it.
  14. There is an issue, this is what it gave me : Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/tmp/phpceXO0v' to '../album.hybridz/uploads/11308/trial_fit2.JPG' in /var/www/album.hybridz/image-inc.php on line 48 I thought maybe I uploaded wrong? I also notice this area just above where you choose file, does not indicate where the file should go "Choose a category to upload your images to. Pick a category that relates most to your image(s)" The drop down box is not working.
  15. Jason, O.K. , I thought maybe you imported a Holden drive train. Speaking of paddles , the owner of Breathless Performance converted a C6 ZO6 to paddle shifting, I do not know if they are C6 paddles or aftermarket like Twist Machines. He may be able to assist you.
  16. Jason, Go over to LS1tech.com and check the Drivetrain or Transmission forum. Most here with LS1 swaps have T56 or 4L60 E transmissions in 240,260 and 280 Zs. The S14 swaps I have seen use the T56 6 speed, so you are going into uncharted waters !! You can find dimensions over on LS1 tech. If your S14 is already on jack stands, take some pictures and measurments of your tunnel, you may just need a BFH for it to fit.
  17. The Flex a Lite heater can be flipped over so the hose connections are on the water pump/passenger side for a clean connection.
  18. I made some progress today !! I am getting everything in place to install the chassis and engine electric harness. Did a trial fit of wheels, and the BAMF ZG flares will be a close fit. I place the Flex a Lite Heater in place and ran the hoses, but I need some more firewall grommets and some flat stock to make a "S" bracket to attached the heater. Doing as much as I can with the time allowed, hopefully here soon I can get a whole weekend free to dive into the electric.
  19. Phibertz, Go to this link, I used the Atlantic Z site to do my suspension stuff, great site.http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/suspension.htm
