  1. They should, minus the injector bungs. Not sure if it's a perfect match though; the openings on the manifold might be smaller in diameter than on the head. I do know for a fact that people run P79 heads with SU's, and I don't think there is any difference from the e88 and the n36 intakes.
  2. What is "running hot" for you? it should normally be around half way across if I recall. Do you mean that it starts warming up and it just keeps going all the way over? or does it stick at the 3/4 range?

  4. decided to bite the bullet and go to an auto glass place. Its going to be $150 with the install so I guess I can't complain.
  5. Hey everyone I recently had my car get broken into and the jerk that did it broke my passenger glass. Right now I'm in Daytona Beach FL till the end of the month. Anyway Just looking for the glass, but will buy the door if neccessary. It has power windows if that makes a difference
  6. How about some pictures. Also what of rust? If it's been sitting for that long, in bad conditions, rust could have destroyed more than you can see.
  7. Did you get one of those P90a heads with solid lifters or something?
  8. Is the m clip popping off a common thing? just out of curiosity...
  9. I drive pretty spiritedly. It was a daily for that time as well. It is an OEM clutch from what the PO told me, autozone special. Either way I just dropped in a builtish motor, and wanted to upgrade the clutch and flywheel anyway to a turbo/2+2 one. Exedy stage 2 possibly.
  10. Hey everyone What's happening is that when I press the clutch, is won't let me shift into gear with the car on. It's similar to this guy in zcar, but I didn't change anything. It was really weak pedal action to begin with, then at a light it just gave out and I couldn't get it into gear. Bled the system, and the pedal got a litter stiffer, but still wouldn't work ( shift into gear). When the car is off, it shifts no problem, so the tranny is hopefully ok. also I am seeing a decent amount of play from the slave cylinder, as in the piston/fork is moving, just not taking the clutch with it. The master and slave were replaced about 1 year ago by me and I haven't had any problems up till now. My car is 74 260z with a 5 speed from a zx. Been using the clutch stuff on it for about 2 years now. could jsut be worn, or maybe the diaphram thingy is bent. zcar thread : http://www.zcar.com/forums/read/1/2134480
  11. I did what Apex did. PIcked up the motor for free of someone who dind't care to part it out, took it home, kept the head, oil pan, and rods. Eventually sold the rods and head for a total of $280. Easiest money I ever made
  12. could you send some pics to day1461@yahoo.com. and when you say roller, do you mean jsut no engine or no engine/tranny/harness etc.
  13. A kit yes, cheap....hell no Check out top end performance. Their website has full rebuild kits for like $2000 for all the parts IIRC. That might have been a winter special kit thing though. came with pistons, bearing, rings, metal head gasket, other gaskets and some other stuff. *edit* didn't read the post 2 above. my bad
  14. No its in Lancaster http://losangeles.craigslist.org/ant/cto/1600073405.html but we don't have a way of getting it back. still not sure on condition either.
  15. yeah we've both been looking for the past few days. Series 1 is his first preferance just needs to be running and driveable and a lot of the ones on craigslist aren't running. I'm trying to convince him to pick a a nice green 240
  16. My friend is looking for an early Z car that doesn't need to be smogged here in Cali. He's got $1700 and need some that is manual, and runs. It can be in rough shape, just no major dents or rust holes(surface rust is ok). Preferably not modified since he already has plans. Located in So cal, but if the car is driveable, me and him are willing to travel like 5 hours.
  17. I originally wanted a 240sx (when I was 13-14, didnt know anything about cars older than 1990). I was driving my dad's hand-me-down 1990 nissan sentra whan I was 15-16(the crazy boxy one). My friend blew his motor on his car, he knew I loved nissan cars, so he let me see it. I loved the fastback look, since my brother was driving an integra(one in my sig). My friend gave me my first car, his 1981 280zx 2+2, with the blown engine since he needed space. Got it for free on the condition that I have to egt it running again. He's a really giving guy. replaced the blown motor with one I found on craigslist that was rebuilt. That engine turned out to have been put together wrong, and one of the rods snapped because it was put in backwards or something, (I was 16 going on 17 at the time) I left that car in teh garage, but loves Z's so much I went and bought my own Z, a 1974 260z, the blue one in my sig. I finally got the 280zx running again this summer, and took it to college with me. My blue car has recently had a l28 tiple weber 10.5-1 engine dropped in and is sitting back home in Burbank waiting for me to drive. The 280zx is my DD and is serving me well in FL.
  18. did you get any background info on the block from the person you got that head from? seems odd that he would remove 1 liner, and not the first or last, the 5th. maybe the guy was crazy. Who knows. I would like pics though
  19. The color is an one-day paint job special, they called it "Viper GT-S blue" and the hood came with the car. The PO said it was custom and cost about $800 in the early 90's, but I don't know how much truth is behind that. MSA sells one like it, but not with the vents down the middle. The rims are Enkie, but the actual style I don't know. Got them from rbmotorsports.com. They were refurbished about 3 years ago, and I lent them to a friend who left them out in the sun for 2 years and the colors faded. They need to be touched up. They ate 15x7 0 offset. Haven't seen a pair like them yet though. and they are light, about 11-13lbs each (no tires of course)
  20. If you're using the stock fuel rail, why wouldn't you hook up the return line.
  21. I want to see some pictures of this. I'm planning on getting a set because I'm cheap.
  22. I feel like it would be a little short. The 280zx is a tad wider, I personally havent tried though, so don't take my word. Do a test fit
  23. Here's mine. I have a blacked out fendre because about 4 months ago some of my strut to lower control arm bolts snapped and my strut tower popped off. Before: After:
