  1. No clue what to call what I saw on my way home but it was hilarious. I tried so hard to get a picture of it and am sorry to say I didn't get it (idiot was doing 80 in a 55). Okay, this is what I saw: A Red 90's Honda Sedan with Ferrari emblems on the front fender panels and a Subie STI wing on the back. WHY? Had to share...way too funny to keep to myself.
  2. Welcome to HybridZ. The transmission on the RWD RB25 is plenty strong unless you are talking over 600rwhp. I would not recommend overcomplicating the swap unless you just want to tell people you have a T56 otherwise its just not necessary IMHO.
  3. Talk to Karim...he is listed as Racer98. Search and read. Awesome guy, knows his stuff...zero surprises.
  4. Current DD is '99 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro. Great car, but rethinking something over 40mpg like a Mini Cooper.
  5. What an awesome project. Where was the "Flux Capacitor" again?
  6. This is interesting. What size injectors are you running and how much timing are you running? Are you running stoich at cruise 14.7:1 or are you running even leaner like 17:1? Oh, and what rear end ratio? 4:11? Someone before said they were getting like 35mpg all stock, but that was running 3.36 gears. I think this would give me a better idea relative to mine. Thanks.
  7. Since you are on a budget and sounds like you don't really have a preference for which motor I suggest you go with L28ET. This will all bolt in and reduce your motor swap cost dramatically. It will fall in your budget and still be a wonderful upgrade from the original motor. Read up and see what you think. Good luck,
  8. Clint, No one likes a showoff....except me maybe. Wow, those are awesome numbers. When are you hitting peak boost?
  9. If you plan on these power levels better plan on either rebuilding your tranny a lot or doing a Z32 upgrade with an adapter. I blew up two trannys with my old setup and I thought I was pretty gentle with it. Definitely well beyond the limit of the stock tranny. If you opt for the JWT ecu I am sure your car will run fine at whatever power level you choose. Just keep in mind if you want to run different injectors or make changes you need an ecu reflash every time. The point is zero flexibilty. With a standalone you can change on your own even if its a small change. Also, JWT is going to be extremely conservative with the programming. I personally felt it was a bit too rich for for my liking. Good luck.
  10. Is this true? So does this mean that a 30a is the RB25 trans which is also the Z32 trans as far as internals are concerned? What about the casing? I know the Z32 is shorter but what about the Z31 (30a version)? Thanks,
  11. I've known Rob for over 10 years. I can vouch for him being slammed with projects. He just doesn't want the expectation that you drop off your car and have it sit for months on end. What is your budget and power goals? What do you intend to do with the car? What does your car need? If you just want to drive on the street it is much less involved than say a road racing track car.
  12. There is supposed to be a plot? These have a plot?? Really? Please tell me you are kidding? Sorry, have to disagree on this one. I would say its pretty safe to watch this movie and not get lost because you missed the first one with such rich character development. It is not like its "Lord of the Rings" guys.
  13. I had a JWT mod for a Z31 ecu in '96. While it certainly worked well IMHO you would be better off with a standalone so you can tune it a bit more to your liking. Just my .02. Good Luck.
  14. I am beginning to think you may not really be aware of the potential that lurkes beneath the surface of your L28ET. You definitely have some homework to read more about your current motor. I think once you read up you will be pleasantly surprised at what it can really do and get more familiar with mod options. Not trying to change your mind on which swap to go with or to even stick with the L28ET, just seems like you would benefit from more info before you make a final decision.
  15. Very impressive. Can't wait for more on this one.
  16. Well the name "Shotgun" certainly is appropriate.
  17. Wow impressive and scary. If that guy had a red coat and a tree it would be Christmas.
  18. He shoots...he scores. Definitely a great buy. Congrats.
  19. Anybody got a towel? I think I just creamed myself. Wow that is gorgeous!
